   I’m editing this review after 1 year. Yes, it is 5 stars. I use it as a daily driver for the office and I bang away at this keyboard all day everyday. However, I do need to mention the “0” on the numkey was registering multiple times per stroke for which I got a replacement for under warranty. While there seems to be some luck involved in getting a keyboard that doesn’t break based on the reviews, this keyboard is excellent for typing. I love the sound of Romer-G switches. I prefer the deeper sound of this keyboard compared to any clicky sounds of blue switches and slightly higher pitches of the red or brown cherry mx switches. I can type on this keyboard ALL day and I highly recommend it for office use. ————————————————————————————————- I love love love this keyboard. I listened to the sounds this keyboard makes on youtube and it is so much better than any other keyboard to me. I used to have the Topre realforce which is a much much much more expensive keyboard but I didn’t love they feel of typing on the real force too much. This is perfect. It has a nice dull sound compared to the other clickety clackety keyboards out there and I love how these feel. I didn’t really want the flashy RGB keyboard and I thought this was a lot better looking than the standard mechanical keyboard that logitech has with the Romer-G switches. This is a nice in between keyboard that is perfect. I really like how the media keys can be used with the function button. The only drawback which is very minor on this keyboard is that it doesn’t have a light indicator for the numlock. So basic and yet for some reason omitted. Not enough of a drawback for me to reduce a star though. I got this keyboard on sale for about $53 on go-keyboard.com.

   I have gone through several of these keyboards, over the years. They were pretty durable, but gaming takes its toll. I’d been very satisfied, until the last 2 keyboards. At some point, Logitech decided to swap out the old key caps for the cheaper kind, where the black is only a painted-on coating. The attached image shows the keys after just a couple of months.

   Silver is beautiful I think Logitech has done a good job in achieving this with the G413, though it’s not perfect. The G413 comes in 2 flavors: Carbon and Silver. The Carbon is a darker theme with red backlighting, and the silver, the one I have, obviously features a silver metal plate with white-ish lighting. And it’s freaking beautiful. The compact nature of the keyboard is the first thing I noticed. It’s not any longer or wider than it needs to be, but it doesn’t cram the keys together. It’s super slim, I absolutely love it – especially with my multi-keyboard workspace. I complemented the G810 on not taking up as much space as most gaming keyboards, but this is even thinner. The keys all sit above the backplate, allowing dust and crumbs to easily be cleaned up, and giving it a very nice look. The white backlit Romer-G switches shine off of the aluminum-magnesium alloy silver plate, revealing one of my issues. The silver plate does a great job at highlighting just how blue white LEDs can be. At a glance it might look white, but look at it long enough and it starts to look very blue. Thankfully, blue and silver still go well together. The font here isn’t obnoxious or gamery. I find it kind of pleasant. The keycaps are nice to use, but they actually include more “tactile” keycaps for Q W E R A S D and 1-5, for gamers who really want to feel their gamer keys doing gamer things while they game at a gamer. No, but really, I do appreciate the inclusion and the fact that they’re optional. Especially since Romer-G switches and Cherry keycaps don’t exactly get along. A function key is included, adding media keys to F9 through F12 and the Printscreen, Scroll lock, and pause buttons, as well as a brightness toggle to F7, and a “Game Mode” to F8. Strangely, they only included LED indicators for caps lock and game mode. I love the sleek design of these indicators, but they totally had room for at least NumLock, and I would have really preferred they keep it on there. This time the Logitech G logo does not light up, and actually looks pretty slick in the corner. Behind the corner logo is a USB port. This is where I have another problem with the keyboard… The USB port is on the right side, which means anything you plug into it might interfere with your mouse usage. Since the USB cable isn’t detachable, you’re stuck with this monstrosity. Okay, it’s not that bad – it’s a thick, soft braided cable that’s a joy to run until it clings a ton of dust. BUT the dual USB ends for both the keyboard and passthrough, with no indication of which port you need for just they keyboard really bugs me. Back to good points. The keyboard is heavy for its size, and super rugged. No flex, and it won’t slide out of the way while you’re using it. The rubber feet and solid risers on the bottom do a lot to help this, as well. The Romer-G switches are a delight to type on. As I mentioned in my G810 review, they have a short actuation time, making them feel a little “stubby” on first use, but very easy to use once you get used to it. They feel way more comfortable to type on than almost any MX switch I’ve used with my hand issues, and they’re a lot quieter. I plan to make a full separate sound comparison video, but here’s a quick sound sample: Overall, this is a very beautiful keyboard. Logitech appears to have reached a point of realizing the keyboard market needs less gamer-y flair, and more slick designs, and they have delivered! For only 90 bucks, too. I would love to see them support Mac and Linux more with their software, though.

   Pros- Metal base, BRIGHT red (then again i wished i could do different colors), easy to replace actual keys (soldered keys, and im NOT very good at it but its pretty easy), clicky keys, easy to find replacements for cheap. CONS- only has RED in 4 modes, which only change how bright it is to “off” – had to replace several keys (before accidents listed below) -software is horrid! -takes 25 or more screws to tear down for repair?!?! -impossible to find “cool” key-caps for since its not like most keyboard caps. (UPDATE) after leaving the keyboard yet again to “dry” while being turned up on its side its magically came back to life. to which i dont seem to notice any strange key strokes or ghosting of anykind. needless to say, this has been a GREAT keyboard for what i paid for it which was less than retail. no, id NOT buy it again as there are wireless keyboards that have induvial key light modes now. but if it came down to needing this board again id have no issue doing so. if its under 40 bucks its a great buy! but over that id have to say no. (if you have key issues you can buy the romer G switches for cheap from “mimic company’s” which is what i did. 20 keys for 5 bucks? yea easy and done Lets start off by saying this has been a GREAT keyboard for what i have in it. got it “like new” off someone i know personally. to which now ive had it almost 4 years or so? its had 3 spills on it, 7 re-soldered keys, been taken apart 2 times and ive yet to “break” any of the keycaps that the others here seem to complain about doing thru “normal” use as my keyboard has seen some EXTREMLY hard times that normal keyboards would NEVER SEE!!! i did have the “spacebar clicky hang issue” that another reviewer stated that they had but like them i too solved the issue by “play/fiddling with it and its better now” however im uploading pics of tear-downs, and nasty pics as well as “clean” to which recently had an entire can of “MONSTER” one of the BIG ones at that spilled on it, to which thats what the other 2 spills were as well. ive yet to take it apart this time, but i fear this spill might have done it in although it still works, the “numlock” keys are having issues that ill not explain but i didnt turn or tilt it up this time like the other times ive had someone knock something over on my keyboard. its survived ALLOT (yes already said that) but when i say ALOT i mean being thrown, smacked, spills, drops, etc. (not dellor type of smashes) but still. at this time the lights ALL still work, and all keys do work but pressing a few other “numlock” keys makes it press 2-4 keys at one time so its being set aside for now. i still have more replacement keys i can use as long as its not the mainboard, although the last time i had this type of issue it did make the keys not like to come up, so its best to use alchol if you have it and use it generously at that, several times in fact.

   Most laptops only have 2 usb ports. Was looking for a k/b with an extra port to connect a thumbdrive as well as kb & mouse. No picture showed that this keyboard is really just an extension cord as it is 1-to-1 usb ports as shown. Other notes, very soft touch keys for a mechanical. Brushed aluminum is nice.

    Logitech uses a proprietary design for their key caps, and it’s bad. I’ve had this keyboard for 2 years and 4 months, and multiple key caps have popped off due to this defect. The plastic pins break off the key caps and get stuck in the switches. If lucky, they can be gently removed with tweezers. Sometimes, it breaks and the plastic pin is flush inside the hole, making it difficult to remove. I’ve had several different mechanical keyboards that use the × or + design without issue. I like to clean my keyboards periodically and I cannot do that with this model because the key caps break so easily. Logitech warranty lasts for 2 years. I’ve been emailing back and forth with their customer service and they will only send me replacement caps because there is no repair center and I’m no longer under warranty. I will not buy another Logitech keyboard ever. Their proprietary design can stay that way as it’s not good. This has definitely left a bad impression on me as I used to like their products/brand.

    This is a really great keyboard and I don’t know why people don’t use it more. Its not super expensive or anything but the keys feel great and always register as you would expect and the build quality is just unmatched. For the price, this is an absolue steal. I still have one from when it first released and its still in perfect working condition. You need to break it in a little for the keys to loosen up, but after a day or two it feels great. Strongly recommend.

    I would love to give this keyboard a 5 star rating. The feel is great, the clicks are great, I love the heavier weight of this keyboard, and the usb passthrough is very convenient too. It really would be a perfect keyboard. There is just one issue that I cant let go past unseen. I’ve been using this keyboard just over four months now, and the black coating on they key caps have started wearing off. You can see this on my high traffic keys. The red light travels through where the coating is worn off so it is very obvious. You can see that there is a heavy outline on Q, There is a faint outline on W, Part of the letter W itself is wearing out, There is a faint outline on E, A and S are also starting to get the outline. As time goes on, there will be more keys to wear down and more red light to shine through. I figured it would be useless to contact Logitec for new key caps, as I doubt they will last longer than the original ones. If that is something you want to deal with, buy this keyboard. If not for the poor quality of the key caps, it would be an amazing keyboard. It still kind of is a great keyboard to me, I will continue to use it and I have no doubt it will keep working as a great functioning gaming keyboard until I choose my next keyboard brand to go with.     This is a super cool keyboard – love how it looks and feels … but don’t buy it – poor design. I am not a gamer (so, I’m not hard on the keys) and I take very good care of my stuff. I bought my first Logitech G413 and it lasted 9 months and the CTRL key came loose one day and i lifted it to see that keys are held only with four very thin pieces of plastic that tab into another piece of plastic. All four had sheared off so even though keyboard comes with replacement keys it doesn’t matter because when they break you can’t remove the broken tabs so you can’t snap in a new one. Since I loved everything about the keyboard and I thought maybe it was just a freak accident I ordered another one and … that one lasted 7 months until exact thing happened. Again – I’m not hard on keyboards at all so a huge design flaw. I spoke with my tech company and they recommended Corsair, MSI or Das Keyboard. So – goodbye Logitech!

    I bought this keyboard around 2018 so I have a good two years of experience with it. I have the Silver version and I believe these aren’t actually mechanical switches, but are Logitech’s own version of a quiet switch. It feels like a mechanical keyboard and can best be compared to the typing experience of a MX Silver or MX Red switch. However, it is MUCH quieter. For $64 I think it’s a really good budget “mechanical” typing keyboard. I wanted a full keyboard with the 10keys for my work station. TBH, out of all the keyboards I own, this one is definitely the cheapest, but is the one I keep going back to. I think it’s because of the typing experience. Somehow this is the most SATISFYING typing experience I’ve had on a keyboard, and I owned about 10 keyboards, mostly ranging in the $100+ range. So for $64, at least for non-gaming experience, it’s a fantastic keyboard. The keyboard is MINIMALISTIC and beautiful. The black version only has red back lights and the silver version has white back lights and its perfect for my Mac work station. If you’re one of those people who miss the old Mac keyboards from the 2000s, this is a really perfect alternative. I kinda hate the small chiclet style flat keyboards Apple uses now. The typing sound is what does it for me though. It’s a really soft, buttery deep sound. I initially got this keyboard to take to my old office, since I didn’t want to bring a mechanical keyboard that was loud and would disturb my coworkers. The CONS: Refer to my photos, but the keys are TALL. So you do have to exert a bit of pressure on each key. Since the letters are raised pretty high, there might be a slight learning curve to typing perfectly. Since this came out in 2017, a lot more slimmer keyboards are available. The only other con imo is that the usb wire is not detachable. Most of my other keyboards have a detachable micro or usb-c cable, so it’s cleaner to store. But it’s an older keyboard, so it’s not a deal breaker. Also side note, this keyboard has a USB slot on the top, so it has two USB connector cables that you have to connect in order to use the USB slot. In terms of gaming, I actually can’t speak on that because I haven’t tried. I use a TKL for gaming because I never need the number pad. I strictly got this for work. I will say, if you’re a motion graphics designer, this keyboard might be a little annoying. Keys might be a bit too clunky if you’re used to using low profile keyboards like the Apple keyboard. However, I just got used to it. Just remember this is originally made with Windows in mind, so if you’re a Mac user, you might want to have a secondary keyboard for your hot keys like brightness, volume, etc.

    Having never used a mechanical keyboard before, I didn’t know what to expect. It certainly feels a LOT better than the membrane keyboard I was using before. I’ve heard there are better keyboards out there, but honestly at this price (3119 on October 28) I don’t have any complaints. I can type faster and with more ease. Gaming is good as well.
    There are no dedicated multimedia keys but Logitech Gaming Software lets us set function keys to default as media keys. It also allows a lot of customisation regarding setting up macros and other key bindings. So with a little of tweaking there will be no missing dedicated macro keys. But your mileage may vary. It also lights up in red only. But I really like how the colours dont bleed out the sides of the keycaps and only shine through the lettering. A very good looking keyboard and well made too. All in all, a great mechanical keyboard from the no.1 seller of PC peripherals at a price that will be accessible to a lot of people.

    The keyboard has a decent feel, but the black paint is coming off after only 2 years of moderate use. Several of the letters on the keys are completely gone. UPDATE: It’s only been 2 years and now the numeric keypad keys are no longer working correctly. Zeros are erroneously interjected which is not good if you’re doing finances. The quality of this keyboard is just garbage.

    Excellent keyboard for gaming. It has a fast response and it can take some punishment for when the game gets to your nerves. Being heavy, it is very stable and this help a lot for both typing and gaming. It is mechanical, and I am one of those who love how these keyboards feel. But, it has only a pass through USB, which is not very competitive nowadays, as we have keyboards offering USB hubs which are much more convenient. And the main reason for why it gets 3 stars from me are the keycaps quality. As you can see in the picture, they peel off in like one month. Mine came with extra spare caps, which I used, but they are the same poor quality and they peel off as well. Not sure why they made a good keyboard and added such a poor quality caps for it.

    That one key we developers count on the most failed me after 3 years of use. The left side (cut, copy, paste) control key is now just a slippery, loose cap. Just replace the key cap, you say? Nope. See those two prongs there that broke off? What you don’t see is the 3rd one still embedded in the mechanism. Can’t get it out with the needle-nose pliers, have to replace the entire mechanism or superglue it all together.

    Little early 5 star review but I absolutely love this keyboard! Migrated from a ROCCAT ISKU keyboard and bought this because of the good reviews and because I missed the tactile feel of my old ABS M1 mechanical keyboard. Reason I left the M1 in the first place is that the Black Alps switches were just too dang loud. My wife would complain that she could hear me typing in the other room. The Romer switches on the 413 are still decently loud but very tolerable. Personally, I like a loud switch but it can be intrusive to other people in the house. PROS: Love the feel and sound of this keyboard. Looks amazing! The layout and minimal but very useful features are great. Personally really like the gaming mode where it disables the WINDOWS key. Price wasn’t bad at $84 right here on go-keyboard.com. Also made use of the optional keys for WASD gaming. CONS: Haven’t really found one yet. You might need a wrist rest if you do a lot of typing. Haven’t needed one for gaming so thats not an issue for me. One issue I had was the space bar had a sharp, snappy/clicky noise sometimes and I was on the edge of returning it.. But I removed the key and fiddled with it a bit and all is well. All in all I highly recommend this keyboard. The price is a great point for what feels like a top quality mechanical keyboard with minimal features but ones you will actually use. My ROCCAT keyboard had way to many keys that I never used and most just got in the way and were usually hit on accident. Thumbs up!

    I bought this keyboard thinking it was a high quality device. Like others have posted here, the keys are low-quality, made of plastic, and prone to irreparable damage. Through normal/unremarkable use, my Left CTRL key broke completely. The same key broke for somebody else who reviewed here. It cannot be repaired easily if the plastic feet get stuck inside the switch. I finally manage to remove the feet, but it will apparently cost $25 to buy a full set of replacement keys (they do not sell individual keys). I’m extremely torn on whether it’s worth further investment at this point – if it breaks from typing on it for 6 months, is it worth $25 for another 6?

    Not a year old an the keys broke, then the replacement keys broke as well. Just like so many other reviews on this site are showing, keys break super easy. The little tabs break inside and are a royal pain to remove if you even have a replacement key. It was a solid keyboard until all my direction ended up breaking. Only the keys I use to game with on the left side frequently have broken, but the LED on the bottom right off the keyboard stopped working as well. Their website just sends you to other help pages that aren’t helpful, when you call the toll free number you get two options that aren’t relevant. Last two mechanical keyboards have been terrible investments, going back to the cheapo tank keyboards that last for 10 years without issues… just not clickity clackity. Their G502 hero mouse had issues and I bought a replacement after a year as well, shame on me if that starts to fail for giving this company a third try.

    I ordered a NEW keyboard and it came with a large hole in the box that went all the way through to the space bar. Definitely not ideal when you’re paying full price for a BRAND NEW product. Takes 2 wires two plug in so not the best for laptop gaming. You’re stuck with one color even if you download the software. Key caps aren’t great. Nothing about this keyboard os worth the price. Go look for a different brand.

    I bought this so I could play games in the dark on my computer, without keeping anyone up. The cord is very sturdy and has a pass-through for the mouse. The pass-through seems to work fine but I don’t use it. The keys are responsive and the keyboard works really great for the price. I’m pretty happy with it, it does exactly what I needed to do without any issues.
