   Very nicely made coiled cable. The “aviation” connector is the screw together kind. USB connectors are of a high quality metal with a nice finish. The only downside the cable itself is a little thin (smaller gauge than the high end ones) but works fine, as it’s only a USB 2.0 connection and does not transfer a lot of data or power. The coil section is a little short, but other than that, it’s a cheap way to get a quality coiled custom keyboard cable.

   i had to shave a few mm off of the port on my Durgod fusion to get the USBC cable end to fit, but otherwise its a great cable. The metal sleeve on the cable looks slick, but don’t run it through your fingers quickly coz you’ll burn yourself… like my friend did. Not me.

   There are a lot of cables to choose from. This one joins in that group of custom USB-C cables and has a couple of features that I feel helps it to stand out. Although, I will say, the color is slightly off from the description. First, the connector pieces. Typically in this price range you’re going to find shrink wrapped ends. Here you have aluminum with the name printed on it. I enjoy that they went the extra mile to make it look and feel more premium. The aviator connectors are metal and feel secure. When connected they do not rattle, feel loose, or come apart with just a tug. A good weight overall to them as well. The sleeve over the main cable is hard braided sleeve that feels premium. I like that it isn’t soft to the touch like parachute cord and adds to the weight of the entire piece. Although, the reason I take one star away is because Black…isn’t black. It’s almost black. It’s darker than the grey, as far as I can tell by the photos, but it’s not black. If you have a solid black board that you want to color match with, you will need a more solid black. A transparent black board would would be a perfect fit or keys caps that can complement it. For the money this is a premium cable at half the cost. I enjoy it’s overall appeal. I believe that the quality construction will make up for the off color.

   While this cable functions as a USB cable, the coils aren’t wound tight enough to keep the shape. You can see my photo to see what happens after you stretch it out. This cable was only $21.99 at the time of the review, so considerably cheaper than other ones on the market. If you want something aesthetically pleasing, go with Cable Mod (https://smile.go-keyboard.com.com/CableMod-Coiled-Keyboard-Cable-Glacier/dp/B09LT2663T). If something goes wrong, they’ll make it right. They are more expensive, but the customer service is excellent. Overall, this cable works as a cable, and the price is fair, but the coils don’t hold up so that’s where I’d dock some points.

   Out of the box, I was super impressed with this cable for the price. The coiling looked nice, the connectors felt like they were good quality, and the sleeving felt as good as what I’ve seen on premium cables. Since keyboard cables generally aren’t used for other things, I didn’t bother going too deep into throughput beyond “can it flash firmware?” And, it can. So, that’s nice. The grey color matches perfectly with Keychron’s grey color (presumably other brands, too) which I was very happy with. The downside, though, is that it took less than an hour for the coiling to go a little wonky on me. In the picture I’ve attached, you can see how the edges of the coil both kind of want to do their own thing. There’s plenty of slack on either side, so this isn’t a matter of the cable being stressed at all. It just isn’t a tight wind, and it doesn’t feel like there’s much of anything reinforcing the coil. As a functional and mostly clean cable, this is a good deal. But if you absolutely must have the cleanest looking cable you can get, you’re probably not going to like this very much.

   One of my first mechanical keyboards was an RK71. I still have that keyboard, and it still works great. Since then, I have seen RK release quite a few products which seem to fit the premium budget mechanical keyboard market. I have been eyeing up coiled keyboard cables for a while now, but I didn’t want to spend too much money on one. I have another more generic branded coiled cable, and this RK cable is definitely better for only a few more dollars. Everything is just one or two levels of quality better than the generic cable. This includes the quality of the connectors (metal, not plastic), braided cable, coils which have a decent amount of flexibility, and a really nice metal intermediate connector. The only nit (but definitely not worth removing a star for) is that the black is more of a dark gray.

    Bought this for a Drop Shift mechanical RGB keyboard and it simply does not work. The USB-C end that plugs into the keyboard wiggles around quite a lot and will sometimes make a connection that can either type or light up the RGB but not both, and any slight movement of the keyboard or cable just breaks the connection again. I have tried different USB plugs on the PC and on the keyboard and nothing keeps the connection stable.

    Edit: It turns out a large part of the fault is my choice in keyboards. Apparently a lot of the Drop-brand RGB keyboards require more power to fully run than most coiled cables can supply. Therefore I don’t fault this coiled cable for not working, despite its wiggly connection.

    Das Kabel ist gut verarbeitet, ebenso der Luftfahrtstecker. Es ist mit einem Geflecht aus Nylon überzogen, der Zwischenstecker ist aus Metall und das Gewinde funktioniert gut.
    Durch das Nylon Sleeve ist das Kabel etwas starr, die Wicklung hält gut, durch die Verpackung in einer Tüte wurde eine Windung leicht verdrückt, dies konnte ich aber mit einem Haarföhn wieder ganz leicht beheben.
    Man sollte evtl. das Verbindungskabel vom PC weg auch etwas mit dem Föhn erwärmen wenn man ein Perfektionist ist und will das das Kabel schnurgerade am Tisch aufliegt.
    Das Kabel funktioniert einwandfrei, ich betreibe damit meine 60% Tastatur damit, es ist ja momentan ein kleiner Trend diese Tastaturen mit so einem Kabel zu verwenden.
    Ich würde mir dieses Kabel jeder Zeit wieder holen, es sieht hochwertig und edel aus und funktioniert einwandfrei.
    Wer perfektionistisch ist, kann mit einem Föhn das Kabel noch etwas ausrichten bis es sauber liegt, wenn es kalt wird hält es seine Form in die man es gebracht hat.

    This is a coiled aviator USB-C cable and it does exactly what it advertises. The cable itself is long enough to reach behind my desk and down to my PC on the floor with length to spare. The coil is only a few inches long and seems pretty well done honestly. I’ve had the cable for about a week and it’s retained the coiling and looks new so I can confidently say it will last some time. My only minor gripe with this is that the sleeve around the cable feels really plastic-y and kind of cheap, and retains its shape almost too well. This means that it won’t rest flat on surfaces. IT ends up behaving like one of those pool noodles that is always trying to go back to the original state. In this case it retains the coil but will be awkward actually adjusting the USB 3 side. A minor issue though because this is overall a really good value. The cable is sturdy and retains its shape, feeling pretty solid in build as well. I’d recommend this as a good budget option for aviator cables especially if you just want the looks without overspending!

    the material is good but the side with hdmi plug need to be closer to the coil, it just looks off to me but that’s just my opinion. i have another one with the hdmi port about 1inch away from the coil an it looks much better because it sits next to the coil. like i said tho it’s judt my opinion.

    This is a nice cable. It’s long enough to reach far but too long to be excessive. The coiled part stays nice and still while typing. It’s a little stiffer than I thought but it’s not bad. I wouldn’t imagine stretching this so far that it would uncoil since there is enough length but I wouldn’t be bothered if it did.

    Got this coiled cable to replace the stock cable that comes with the Anne Pro II. So far no issues with it and didn’t notice any delays or software issues. The cable looks more like a dark grey color instead of black but it’s still nice. The cable feels like it’s really high quality and the connector feels good also. Definitely would recommend!

    I like the cable. It is reasonably made with decent quality. The metal parts aren’t finished perfectly and the wires are on the thinner side. See photo. The left cable is this cable and the right cable is what an average coil cable looks like. This cable looks fine, but you can see it is smaller or less robust. It still functions well and in some case the slimmer profile may help in tight spaces. I prefer beefier cables but this will work without issue. Overall quality is a 4.

    The build quality of the cable is near as good as the ones that cost double the price. It has a nice nylon wrap and just feels like a quality cable. The main reason why this is so much cheaper is, in my opinion, the size. It is about 2/3 the size of all the $40 – $50 aviator style keyboard cables on go-keyboard.com. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. In fact I kind of like the smaller size and it just makes more sense on my smaller desk.

    The Royal Kludge coiled cable is good for the price. I don’t swap keyboards much but the aviator connector works as it should. The length of the screws on the ends of the connector are too long and are pretty sharp so care should be taken when unscrewing and screwing the connector. The jacket is a fairly rigid techflex type material. The cable coil keeps its memory ok but I wish the length of the straight from the keyboard to the coil was shorter. The metal USB-C and USB connectors are a good matte silver and ideally they should match the aviator connector. BUT this is an aesthetic budget piece and works as intended so for the price it gets recommended.

    For the price, this is a great starter keyboard cable! It is a fully braided cable with a decent aviator connector to boot. The cable itself is a little thin, but that is in comparison to cables that are far more expensive. I wish that the coal stopped have a wind short as currently, both ends face each other which is not ideal. After a couple of hours though, the cable sat flat and looks good. I also wish that the coil was an inch or two longer as it gives a compressed look when connected to TKL and full-size keyboards. For the price, this is a good cable that will work great and get the job done.
