the only problem is that the software is unable to detect the keyboard…it is not a major problem as the keyboard can be configured without the software by using key combinations. But we miss some of the features this way

I like the feel of the keys on the Corsair. I’ve long been a proponent of mechanical keyswitch keyboards but most of them have left me disappointed – they just don’t have a good feel. (I did get one recently which is really good though.) Anyhow, while the Corsair has rubber dome key switches and not mechanical, it still has a solid ‘pop’ point where the key depresses. This keeps me from making typos by accidentally pressing nearby keys; they don’t depress quite as easily and for me that is a big plus. I honestly don’t know if this company’s later keyboards have the same feel but with this series I find that I can type more quickly with fewer mistakes than I can with the mechanical boards I’ve given up on. Beyond that, I also much prefer a lighted keyboard as I sometimes work in a dim or darkened room, and the keys on this one are bright enough to see; the ability to change lighting colors is something I like, though I don’t much go for the special effects with the assorted strobings and flashings. Others may find those to their liking but you don’t have to use them, you can just use steady lighting. I’ve been a typist and keyboardist for decades and this keyboard gets my seal of approval.

I had been on the hunt for a new keyboard for work and gaming for quite a while and tried a few other keyboards in the Corsair lineup. I had originally tried the K70 RGB Low Profile and loved the build quality of it but it was way too sensitive for my usage and affected my work flow in my photography editing profession. So I jumped ship and found the K55 pro and I have loved it. I’ve been using it now for a few months and continues to work and plug away for what I need. The RGB customization using Corsair’s ICUE software is really easy.
The only downside to this keyboard is that the macro keys don’t work with Adobe Photoshop or Lightroom (which is one of of the main reasons I wanted the macro keys). However, I was able to find other uses for the macro keys that suited my needs.

This is an amazing keyboard with volume, media controls, six fully programmable macro keys, per key customizable RGB backlighting and easily controlled and integrated via Corsair’s ICUE software. It’s not a mechanical keyboard but you’re not paying mechanical price either. Even better I purchased one that was Renewed by go-keyboard.com for less than half of retail price and in no way could anyone ever tell that it wasn’t brand new, if you have a chance to pick one up renewed do it you won’t be disappointed
