   If you are reading this probably you’re seriously thinking that $199 could be spent in something more useful, I’m here to tell you that that’s absolutely true. However, we know we want it, and boy, it is worth it. I come from a Blackwidow chroma which is not a bad keyboard in my experience, but if we compare it to the K95, the Razer BW feels like a cheap toy. Seriously, the build quality of this thing is very impressive. It definitely feels like a $200 keyboard. After thinking a lot I decided to go for the Gunmetal, and I’m glad I did. I thought it was going to be more brighter and it wouldn’t feel that premium, but I was wrong, it is just a beautiful color, and I would pick this one over the black one any day of the week. The typing experience is outstanding, the best I have ever experienced. It might sound dumb but it feels fast, even with a slight push the keyboard will activate the key. This might be good or bad depending on what you like or want, I personally love it so far. On top of that, it feels really satisfactory to type in this thing. The only test this keyboard is yet to pass is the test of time, otherwise, yes, it is worth the crazy amount of $200, I just hope you spend a lot of time gaming and using your computer to justify burning this much money on this expensive keyboard.

   This is a good keyboard. My major gripe with the thing is the space bar. It’s garbage. If you aren’t pushing on the center 3rd of the bard it tends to unseat itself and/or stick. When you are jumping around trying to evade, the sticky space bar has killed me a quite a few occasions. There are a few other keys that tend to pop loos if tap and release too fast or hard. which can be a pain. My second big gripe is, they need to make it clear in the description with these keyboards, that in order to use the macro keys you are required to install a whole proprietary software suite! This might be obvious to some, but for me with this being my first purchase of a nice keyboard like this, I was quite aggravated to find out I had to have some other software process running in the background just to use 6 keys. Whats with all the extra low-jacking software these days!? Honestly!!

   i’m a casual gamer and i play mostly FPS like Battlefield, Planetside 2, Rainbow six, and some RTS. i have all my life use cheap membrane keyboards, i have never invested more than 15 dollars on a keyboard. So i decided that i want to try to improve my setup, and in order to do it i would need a mechanical keyboard. Insted of going for a low – mid range mechanical keyboard, i went for one of the top of the cream, and i gotta admit that i was not disappointed. i didn’t knew what i was missing until i hit a keystroke in this keyboard. Now that i have this, i don’t want to use membranes keyboards anymore.

   I had decided to purchase this KB after my disappointment with the Razer Blackwidow rgb. It was way too ‘clickity’ (loud) and required a lot of downward force to activate a keystroke. Plus, the software for Razer was horrible and kept crashing my system. I did plenty of research and decided on the Corsair K95 RGB. I already was pleased with the Corsair mouse and pad, so adding the keyboard was a no brainer. It was just a matter of which one. I needed some macro keys so I could map some Linux commands I commonly use, passwords to servers, etc. This also allowed me to use their iCue software to manage the peripherals from one dashboard. Pros: Solid, well built, beautiful. Making the adjustments to lighting and assigning macros, reassigning keys, is really simple once you get a handle on the iCue software. I love the multiple profiles you can create since I do use it for work as well. Media controls are great once mapped to the player. Now I can play and control the tunes without leaving the game. Much quieter than the other mechanical keyboards I’ve used. One of the best keyboards I’ve used since my old Mainframe keyboard from back in the day. Cons: for a mechanical keyboard, it is really sensitive. I find that just placing my hands on the home row…it types just by placing my hands on it…not even pressing the key down. A little annoying having to backspace every once in a while, but not an inconvenience and I can deal with it. Others, may not like that. But other than that, I have absolutely no other issues with it. Overall: One of the best keyboards I’ve used since my old Mainframe keyboard from back in the day.

   This keyboard is amazing. I also would like it to be known that I am not a gamer. I purchased this keyboard for every day use, and it’s nice to type on as well. Takes a touch getting used to, but overall it’s fantastic! I have used a laptop since 2010 to type on, and so using this keyboard feels amazing. The colors are vibrant, and the effects are fun to work with. If you want to add your own fun effects, you have to go into the “advanced” portion to create the effects for yourself. If you just want the defaults, those work great too. Just be sure to download the correct “Cue” download from Corsair’s site, found under “support” and then “downloads” at the top of the website. If there are any cons down the road, I will update. But for now, none!

   Lets start with the fact that this keyboard light my whole room even more with my setup! The sweet RGB that this keyboard has is fantastic, and the keyboard itself looks amazing. Now when you get the keyboard dont forget to download the ICUE to tune what ever RGB style is suitable for you. The keyboard is heavy when you get it from the box, and it has a very good feeling to it as well! typing with this thing is fantastic i really love the feeling of this keyboard. overall if youre looking for more reviews there is youtube. but one thing for sure the ICUE app isnt easy to use and indeed not so understandable. but the keyboard is worth every penny ! highly recommended for every gamer!

   Fantastic. That is my one word review for this keyboard. Cherry MX silvers feel fantastic to type on, and in games it helps with fast key presses. the dedicated media keys and the included fps/moba keycaps feel really god on the fingertips and don’t get in the way when typing. Function and form is a easy 5 stars…. however, my unit has some minor damage to in in the form of two nicks near the top of the keyboars. one is more of a scratch, while the other one is a large indentation that was blacked out with a correction marker. For $165 things like this should not leave the product line. I’m gonna dock a star for this blemish, though I never have to see these nicks because i don’t normally look down at my keyboard, it’s still upsetting that it arrived at my doorstep with *any* form of damage. Overall it’s a fantastic keyboard with great feeling switches.

   I like the keyboard. It’s nice, but I think mine is used. The box I received had clearly already been opened, and the keyboard inside was just sitting alone in the box, no protective covering whatsoever, just the keyboard stuffed into an opened box, the control and escape keys were rattling around inside but reattached with no issues. The board itself was also a little bit dusty and upon inspection had some little white hairs. I’m not the picky type so one dusting later and the issue was fixed. However, I noticed on the light bar at the top it’s a little dim as if one of the LED’s died. I’ll attach a picture showing the issue. Otherwise, the board is great and sounds great, but I don’t like paying the New price for a used item without even being told. I’m a little confused why I received a used one in the first place. Or maybe I’m wrong and Corsair just ships their keyboards in opened boxes with no protective coverings and covered in white hair and dust. But I really doubt it. Okay. I just took the keycaps off and looked under them. This is very clearly used. Dusty and has white hairs everywhere. I can’t believe I got charged full price for this. Coulda saved some money and bought it used. Least you could have done is sent some dust remover compressed air.

   One of the best keyboards I have owned to date. I have used about every keyboard type and brand out within the last couple of years which none have really impressed me much. they all have their pros and cons. However, I had read several reviews about Corsair’s “K” series line of keyboards and I was ready to dump the Razer Blackwidow Chroma I purchased back in 2015. That keyboard was “good” and I can honestly say I never had a single issue with it within the time I owned it. But now for the reason I am writing this review. To start with, Corsair has nice packaging and the keyboard comes well protected so hopefully if you purchased one you receive it without damage. My keyboard was shipped to me in it’s original box which was then put inside a larger brown box. This is the way all things “should” be shipped but if you’ve ordered as much as I have from go-keyboard.com you know this isn’t always the case. Once removed from the packaging I immediately noticed the Aluminum frame. This is a definite plus and makes the keyboard feel nice and sturdy and gives it a premium feel. I wanted the gunmetal finish and it didn’t disappoint. The color is fantastic and is exactly what I was wanting. The added removable wrist rest is really nice and has a rubber insert that has a different design and feel on either side so you can choose which best suits you. It also has a nice weight to it and feels made well. Although I’m not overly fond of the way it attaches to the keyboard itself as if the keyboard is moved around or picked up it looks like it will fall off and hangs down from the edge of the keyboard. I like to sit with my keyboard in my lap a lot with my feet kicked up on my desk and the wrist rest is a no go for me in that situation. So I just leave it off unless I plan to do some lengthy typing and then I slap it on. But one of the best features of this keyboard is without a doubt the switches. Using the Cherry MX speed switches makes typing an actual fun experience. My Razer keyboard was very loud and “clacky” and wasn’t ideal for a quiet setting or those super late gaming sessions after the wife goes to bed as she could hear the keys clear in the other room. However, these are so quiet and smooth it takes a bit of getting used to. I am used to tacktile feedback in my keys and as such could tell when my keys were going to actuate and click. These are so quiet and smooth its hard to tell when they will actuate as there is no tacktile feedback from the key itself. And the actuation point is so short you can just lightly touch a key and cause it to register. Nice, but takes a bit of getting used to. And last but not least. The lighting. The lighting on this keyboard is some of the best I have ever used. The software is a bit overwhelming at first and takes a little bit to familiarize yourself with but has so much customization. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination. You can design any type of lighting scheme and save those profiles internally which enables the keyboard to be used on any PC with or without the Corsair software. This lets you choose your favorite lighting profile saved in the on-board memory by using the profile selection button located above the function keys.So to conclude this review. I have used many many keyboards over the years but this one has to be my favorite yet. You can’t go wrong with Corsair anyway as they have great customer service and make some very nice components. This is a bit pricey but I never go cheap on my peripherals as I use them everyday for hours on end. All in all I’d say go for it if you have the cash and are in the market for a new keyboard. You’ll love it

    This keyboard seems like a tank. Great sturdiness and chassis. Palm rest also feels planted when clipped with the board. Coming to the keys, I went for brown switches and damn it feels quality under hand. Perfect balance between silver speed and blue switches was all I wanted. It is Tactile, comfortable and fast enough.If you are a developer you surely will enjoy this. I feel the price is a mind blower for a lot out there but If you can afford it, you gonna feel the justification few years down the line and also I at my time of purchase k70 mk.2 was pretty close to this one, hence I got this. It’s a flagship product, hence you’ll get all glory of RGB and customisation. I hope corsair’s service is also as nice as this keyboard is.

    It started showing chattering issue after 3 months. Didn’t expected this with a flagship keyboard from Corsair. After 5 months the replaced one started showing issue of autotyping. Hence one more replacement has been done. So it has been replaced twice. I strongly recommend not to purchase this product

    This is my first Gaming PC keyboard so I don’t have anything else to compare it to other than my 2012 MacBook Pro laptop (lol). Right off the bat, high quality made and it feels amazing while gaming/typing. The sound of the keyboard is right in the middle, not too loud not too quiet. Finger marks are hardly present at all. Very responsive. I love the sound toggle on the top right corner which you can adjust or mute at any time. Don’t get me started with the lighting because I can go for days. Overall best keyboard!!!

    Keeping this short. Received it with several keys ajar.(pics). Had to use another keyboard to figure out where they went. Box was undamaged, so likely from rough shipping and handling. Found a video to figure out per-key RGB. The keyboard is noticeably heavy and has less optional gaming keys than my old SteelSeries Apex Gaming Keyboard it replaces. The “dual” function keyboard keys are displayed opposite of a standard typing keyboard, so it’ll take getting use to. It doesn’t blow me away, but I wanted a quality keyboard. It’ll do.

    Amazing keyboard of 3+ that has gotten me through since 2021. Recently saw that one of my backlit keys (the i-key) no longer glows as bright as the others, unfortunately. Checked through the onboard iCue settings and troubleshooting, and it looks like it might have resolved itself. Not sure if there’s a way to reproduce it or if this was just a sporadic issue w/ a temporary fix. To continue to monitor and update my review.     This keyboard is great. I got the Brown MX and it feels great typing and playing games is perfect with it. I mainly play Overwatch, League of Legends, and World of Warcraft. Having the extra programmable buttons on the left hand side makes everything much more efficient. The iCUE program is a bit difficult to get around (but I’m learning), other than that this is a solid product. Bit pricey, but if you’re looking for a keyboard to be your last keyboard for awhile, this one would be it for me. I also got the white textured key caps from Corsair which makes the keyboard all the more impressive!

    I’ve owned many keyboards in the past 29-years, most of them membrane keyboards, but a few mechanicals as well. My first mechanical keyboard was from the Aukey brand and it lasted 6-months until the key switches started failing. Because of that experience, I decided that it was best to upgrade to a higher quality brand, so I chose Corsair and went with the Vengeance K70 RGB Rapidfire. I owned the Corsair K70 for a year, and then the cable developed a short where it enters the casing of the keyboard and stopped working, still waiting on RMA under warranty for that one. While waiting already a week now for an RMA authorization for the K70, I decided to buy the K95 Platinum keyboard. The K95 Platinum is Corsair’s top of the line keyboard, it is fully featured, with all the bells and whistles. If you’ve used the K70 before, then you will recognize the same stout cable on the K95 with the twin plugs, one for the keyboard, and the other for the USB pass-through port. Unlike the K70 which has a very smooth bottom, which can cause it to slide around easily. The K95 has a textured bottom with quality rubber feet, and it does not move around at all. I primarily use my keyboard from the couch, and it won’t slide down my legs. Additionally, this keyboard has slots on the bottom of it to allow you to rout a headphone cable, to keep things nice and neat. The K70 Rapidfire and the K95 Platinum have pretty much the same kind of Cherry MX switches. They feel about the same in the switches, same quick actuation, and the same quietness. However, the K95 uses stronger keys. When I tapped on the keys for the K70, they had a tendency to move around a bit besides just pressing straight down. When I press down on the keys for the K95, they push straight down, which basically tells me that the keys have more structural rigidness. The K95 Platinum also has more keys, there are 6-programmable macro keys on the left side, which are primarily intended for use in gaming. The K70 did not have any dedicated macro keys. Just like with all Corsair gaming keyboards, this one is fully illuminated. And just like the old K70, the K95 has full RGB color pallet, which means there are a million shades of color that you can choose from. The beauty with these keyboards, is that you can set each individual keys to whatever color you want. Also high end Corsair keyboards can use special effects, such as the default spiral rainbow effect. All the color effects, key bindings, and programmable macro keys, are administrated by the CUE software, if you are on Windows. However, if you are on Linux, you will not be able to install and use the CUE software. In order to utilize the keyboard on Linux, you have to install the Corsair keyboard drivers for Linux, then you need to install CKB-Next. After restarting your computer to insure the CKB daemon is running, the software will detect your keyboard, and then you can administrate your keyboard from there. When I used this software with the K70, I was able to save the settings to the keyboard, so that after a restart, its still the same. However, the K95, according to the developer of CKB-Next, says the K95 uses a different file system, which is why CKB cannot save the settings to the hardware. Which means as soon as I restart the computer, the keyboard is back to its default rainbow spiraling, until the OS loads up and loads the CKB daemon, then my settings return, well, mostly. Unlike the K70, which has no fancy lighting bar on the top of the keyboard, the K95 has one. After the CKB daemon loads up, all my settings return except for the top light bar, its like it has a memory malfunction where it knows to make the light bar blue, to what I set it too, except a couple of zones are in rainbow mode. So I have to go in and change the color back and fourth to reset it. Its a slight pain for sure, but not a big deal, easy fix. What I love however, is the flexibility of options that are available for the K95. There is just so many settings that you can choose to administrate this keyboard. If there is something you don’t like, just change it! An advanced feature that I’ve been enjoying, is activating RGB for the Num, Caps, and Scroll lock keys. When the lock keys are off, they are blue like most of the keys. But when the locks are turned on, I’ve set them to be a brighter blue, so its just basically another level of indicator when the locks are on is all, but very cool. Another example of this is I set the media mute button to be a dark red when off. When I hit the mute button to mute my sound, the button turns into a brighter red as a clear indicator, incase I forget its on later and I need to turn it back off. I also noticed that I had a tendency to hit the MACRO G-keys with my pinkie finger, because I am used to keyboards which don’t have them, and thinking I am hitting the CTRL, SHIFT, CAPS, and TAB keys. So I chose to make the G-keys GREEN to more easily distinguish them, it no longer has been a problem. 😉 I’ve also set my media keys to GREEN as well for the same reason, so they are easier to spot when I need to use them quickly. Its nice that they illuminated the Corsair logo, they did not do that on the K70. If you don’t like the logo being illuminated though, you can turn it off, it uses the center top bar zone. If you’ve used the old K70, then you know how smooth the volume wheel was, I use it quite a bit. Its just nice being able to adjust my computer volume from the keyboard. The volume wheel on the K95 is considerably smoother in its movement, so thats yet another improvement that Corsair made. The feeling of the keys is really good, its quite a comfortable keyboard to use, and the illumination helps me to see the keys in the dark. I am also a gamer, so I really appreciate this feature. I haven’t set and utilized the MACRO keys yet, but if I need to set some MACRO’s, I will. This is a very durable keyboard, it has a full metal plate backing for the top of the keyboard, just like the K70 did. But this keyboard weighs more then the K70 by a little bit, the keyboard is wider afterall. If you are upgrading from the old K70, this keyboard will take a few days to get used to, cause it is a little different. All in all, this is probably going to be one of the best keyboards you could buy. I only hope that Corsair learned from their past mistakes with the old K70, and have improved the K95 Platinum enough to where it will hold up for more then a year. I of course will give everybody an update on this keyboard a year later. 4.8 out of 5 Stars! NOTE: Pictures were taken before I changed the color of the G-keys, and setup RGB lock indicators, and mute indication.

    This keyboard is gorgeous and very well built, alas the software is buggy like you could not imagine. I am returning this piece of hardware… pros: -very well built. -Brown switches are so smooth. -Lighting is very nice. -wrist rest is so comfortable. Corsair did a fabulous job on that. Cons: -Upon updating the CUE (Corsair utility engine), the software decided to delete all my profiles i had (on my K70 Lux), so if you are upgrading from the K70, export all your profiles to a seperate folder before upgrading. Like this you should be able to import them back. -The installation of the software keeps failing. The Macro function does not work and the software tells you that it failed and to repair install, but the repair process does not fix the issue (i have installed, uninstalled with revo pro) many times and just won’t install properly. -In the settings, when i check software updates, it tells me that the software fails to verify if any updates are available (and yes I do have an internet connection). -The profile change button on the keyboard just works randomly and sometimes will switch between “in-memory” profiles and sometimes between those in CUE and sometimes not at all. The issue that I have is that I can be trying to do the same thing in same set of settings and have different outcomes. -When pressing the key, there is a distinct “springlike / rattle / echo” noise. None of the previous Corsair keyboards I have do that. -For whatever reason, the “ESC” escape key refuses to work in CSGO, but work well otherwise…so weird… Overall, this is a great keyboard, but the software is totally unstable. I have the original K70, the K70 LUX RGB and the K70 Strafe RGB and they all are solid performers and no issues.

    After doing non-stop research for over a week, I decided on the K95 with Cherry MX Brown switches. I got it for $139.99 , which I believe is a good price. I was hesitant to spend a lot of money on a keyboard, but I’m honestly so happy I did. I don’t think I can ever go back to a non-mechanical keyboard. Also, the build quality and RBG lights on this keyboard is just awesome. In my opinion, the only other keyboard in this price range with a comparable build quality and sleek design is the Hyper X. However, the RBG capabilities/components and design on the k95 exceeds the Hyper X. (the Hyper X was more expensive and just looks tacky in my opinion). Additionally, I looked at the lesser “main stream”, but quality brands like Ducky, and while these were nice, I couldn’t justify spending over $100 for a similarly built keyboard with a bland design, much less features (no macro keys, media keys, USB passthrough, no numpad keys, and no RBG, no wrist rest). All the people who say you’re an idiot for buying corsair over ducky are just plain wrong. If you really want the highest grade keys like PBT, just replace the ABS ones that come with it if they really make a huge difference to you. For me, the keys that come with it are more than fine. Hope this advice helped some of you.

    Fantastic keyboard. Out of the box it has been working great. I did have an issue with the install program and didn’t find an answer online so did my own investigating. Appears that my XBOX One login had taken over my computer so 1 I was no longer an admin and 2 I was running the install from a secondary drive not the C drive where windows is installed. Once I logged in as a local admin, and moved the install to the C drive everything installed fine. I had to do both yes not just the local admin. Seems it wants to run and install on the same drive? Might have worked if I installed it on the secondary drive as well but didn’t test that. The K95 Platinum is just awesome. It also includes silver/platinum keys you can swap out for the SWAD keys if you want to as well as some others in the same vacuum sealed bag. So far this is just a really great keyboard and I can’t believe I waited so long to get a mechanical.

    This was my first purchase of a mechanical keyboard and I am very please that I finally made the jump. It feels so nice to type on that it’s just amazing. I understand now why people say they are trying to find reasons to type after they got that keyboard. Having tried a few others I also have to say that this one is pretty quiet: there is no big “click” but only a smooth and pretty enjoyable sound of the key touching the bottom of the keyboard. The wrist pad is also very comfortable but easily gets dirty and is not easy to clean because of the rubber material it’s made of but it’s not a big problem. However the keyboard has two flaws that I cannot ignore. First, the cable is horrible: it’s very thick and stiff so it’s not easy to pass where you want in order to hide it. Fortunately, I already had some cable holders so I could fix that issue without much effort. The other problem for me (that can be a quality for other people) is that this keyboard is not bright. The LEDs are designed to light up only the top of the caps so you need to have your face on the top of the keyboard to see the lights. If you look at it from a distance (like a couple of meters) you will barely see the RGB (my old K55 was much brighter because of the membrane that was illuminated from below). I managed to fix that problem by replacing the key caps with a translucent set but it was not easy nor cheap to do because Corsair use non standard bottom row key size. At the end I managed to find and order a custom one from Max Keyboard and it’s what you can see on the pictures (THIS IS NOT HOW IT LOOKS LIKE OUT OF THE BOX). Thanks to this new key cap set the light shines as it should. So overall it’s an amazing keyboard that will make you become better at typing but without modifications the light intensity is not good enough, at least for me.

    Purchased on sale for like 160$. Watched a few YouTube reviews, most of which said this was a good product. I have been thoroughly disappointed with this keyboard. I thought I was upgrading from my RK-9000V2 keyboard that had been using for about 5 years, but the K95 plat. is a headache. CONS – The space bar stopped working properly after about 3 weeks of use. This is really bad if you plan to use this for typing long documents or using for gaming, as most games have the space bar defaulted for jumping. Corsair won’t help with this, but they will just send another space bar (space bar isn’t the problem). You can find some easy fixes online for this (like sticking small pieces of paper into the stabilizer things), but this shouldn’t be a problem on a 200$ keyboard. – The RGB lights don’t get that bright at their brightest settings. They look good at night, but they don’t pop during the day. – The sound wheel or software is sometimes broken. When you use it to dial, it sometimes gets stuck so it keeps volume at max. Have to unplug or restart computer to fix this. PROS – Software is pretty cool. I was impressed this. The macros always function correctly, but that might be an issue with the games I use it with. – Wrist rest is nice. – Aesthetics are nice. – Key stroke distance takes sometime to getting use to, but they are nice. Overall, I would avoid this keyboard. If I could, I would have purchased another keyboard. I ended up going back to my previous keyboard, because it functions better as a keyboard.

    Corsair did a really good job with the keyboard design and responsiveness. The keys can be a bit louder than normal keyboards which can turn some folks off. My main gripe is with the iCue software that controls the RGB lighting and macros. I have the matching RGB mouse pad and headphone stand which the iCue software is meant to control and sync with the keyboard. However, every few days I notice that the RGB’s goes all wacky and out of sync. For example, if I do the quick lighting, one of the device will remain within the set lighting while the others reset to default multicolored. The keyboard in itself I would definitely recommend, the software leaves much to be desired.

    I am a very picky individual. If you are like me, then you compare compare compare! I previously owned the Razer Huntsman Elite and Corsair K70 Rapidfire along with other Mechanical Keyboards over the past couple years. Why I prefer this keyboard compared to the Razer & other Corsair Keyboards. Pros – I love the texture of the keys. I did change mine from the black to the Corsair white keys. But both the original and Corsair White replacement keys feel so good on the fingertips. I changed mine simply for more color on my desk. – Volume dials and easily accessible buttons. Nowadays, I must have a volume dial on my keyboards. It’s easy to listen to spotify and just hit next, turn up & down the volume. It’s also nice being able to see if you have your Numlock on as well as the ability to “lock, turn off lighting” directly on the keyboard. – Functionality. This keyboard offers amazing software. It was simple for me to setup, easy to customize. I love that you can use Corsair Link if you have other Corsair Products. (as I use a Corsair Scimitar Pro RGB for gaming) – Simplicity & Elegance. This keyboard is just beautiful to look at. I personally prefer the RGB lighting on top compared to my other Razer Hunstman Elite. I just feel it’s a more elegant keyboard to look at. – The material the keyboard is made of is top notch. I love the aluminum frame. When you are installing or moving it. You can just feel the quality of this keyboard. – Works perfectly after removing/replacing the keycaps. I had issues with Razer keyboards in the past that keys would get stuck after replacing. Not an issue at all with Corsair. Still running strong. – Lastly – this keyboard is easy to clean. I’ve used other keyboards that just tends to get anything and everything inside it. I love the raised keys so you can use a little air can and get any dust or particles off the keyboard easy. I also have no problem keeping the face of the keyboard clean. Con – The only thing I can come up with that I would improve upon on this keyboard is the wrist rest. I don’t care that it doesn’t have RGB, I actually prefer it not to but the wrist rest has a slant and doesn’t really help prevent me for long hours of gaming or web/graphic design when I spend all day on the PC. I think it needs to be a bit more elevated and less slope. This is easily replaceable though with any wrist rest you prefer. I like the memory foam 1/2 inch to 1″ thick wrist rest for long hours of use to help prevent carpal tunnel. Photos: I took one of the full keyboard, along with zoomed in larger photos so you could see the design and layout up close and personal. Changes: Replaced the original keys with CORSAIR Gaming PBT Double-Shot Keycaps Full 104/105-Keyset – White. This is not necessary for those who prefer the black original keys. I replaced mine for visual preference to match other desktop accessories like Yeti White microphone and White AudioEngine speakers. Length of Use: We purchased the product on Sept. 5th 2018. I prefer to install/use the product before I leave feedback on a product because I want to give a thorough review after use. I use the keyboard for at least 8-12 hours a day and almost 6 days a week.

    So I did a lot of tossing and turning at night trying to decide which premium mechanical keyboard to get. I have never owned a mechanical keyboard of any kind and considered buying a “switch sampler” so I could type on them first. I ended up just taking a chance on the MX Browns. I wanted either at Razor or Corsair but choosing the type of switches and the exact model was tough. So many options. I wanted a switch that was clicky but not obnoxiously loud. I think the MX Brown switches are amazing to type on and not too loud. I am very happy I chose MX Browns. I wanted a comfortable wrist rest and RGB lighting. The Razer looks like the wrist rest is much more comfortable but I wanted the build quality of the Corsair. Here are my thoughts after taking the plunge with the K95 platinum. The corsair cue software is horribly confusing to use. I do not understand the difference between the simple and advanced profiles. It took me a long time to figure out when using the static lighting you had to first select all the keys. Maybe I’m just not smart enough but it has been a pain in the butt. After using this keyboard for a few days I would probably have gone with the Corsair K70 RGB MK.2 because I found that I don’t really like the look of the K95’s light-bar at the top. I ended up disabling it. Also it seemed to not perfectly match the color of the RGBs on the keys. Pros -Cherry MX Brown Switches are a joy to type on (sweet spot between tactile and clicky). -The brushed aluminum look is very attractive. -The 3 stored profiles on the keyboard hardware itself (not software) enable you to choose a lighting scheme without having to first load the software (I want my keyboard to be aqua blue ALL the time, not just once I’ve loaded the Corsair program (such as during my PC’s booting up process). -Wrist rest feels nice and smooth (although it could be cushier) -Volume knob feels very nice. -Yes it is $200 but it feels like a premium product and solid build quality. Cons -You can not light up the Corsair logo independent of the light bar. You must have the light bar lit for the logo to be lit. -Corsair CUE software is confusing to use and must be loaded to take advantage of the advanced profiles. -Lightbar seems a slightly different color than the RGBs under the keys. -2 USB 2.0 plugs required if you want to use the USB pass-through.

    So this is a good keyboard. I wouldn’t call it great but its good. At three years it is out of warranty and starting to show some flaws but I don’t think I too many people would call three years “old” for a $150 mechanical keyboard. Here’s my experiences with it. GOOD: The “base” – the part holding all the key switches – is aluminum and as a result pretty beefy feeling. The underside of the bottom is plastic but feels nice. If you haven’t tried a mechanical keyboard before this one is a good solid one to go with. I even liked the iCUE software that runs the lights on this keyboard, and anything else you get from Corsair that lights up (do they even sell anything that doesn’t have RGB?). It seems to have some bugs but overall doesn’t get in the way. USB passthrough is nice too. BAD: The keyscaps kinda suck. At least from a gaming angle where you would be hammering the same few keys. Mine came with some “extra grippy” WASD+ keycaps and I swapped them in when the original keycaps wore out. Let the record show that the keyboard uses non standard sized keys around the spacebar/alt/win/ctrl key area. Im not sure exactly which ones but if you want to swap them out that would be a bit of a speedbump. Of course Corsair sells double shot (wouldn’t wear down like the standard ones) keycaps themselves. Also, the RGB seems to be giving up the ghost. I tried with support to correct a stuck blue key (in picture – should be white). All signs are pointing to it having a burnt out red channel so there’s no real way to fix it. My keyboard is not quite 3 years old now and the warranty is 2 years. The volume wheel in the top right corner of the keyboard with the media buttons seems to be jumping around. My backup keyboard also has a volume wheel (different brand) and it works fine. The corsair jumps a lot – which isn’t exactly desirable with volume. VERDICT: At three years old I’m honestly pretty disappointed that the RGB is failing, and concerned about how fast the rest will follow. Otherwise it would be a fantastic keyboard if I could get keycaps for it.

    Since I first got the SteelSeries APEX M800, I was starting to love those “fast triggering” switches. And the MX speed on K95 does provide identical shorter traveling length. I’d say it even feels shorter than M800 that when you just think about hitting the switch and it already reaches the bottom and the action has already been triggered. The volume scroll on the keyboard is really handy. Although having similar functionality with G.Skill KM780, I’d say K95 is much more elegant on the look(also the MX speed switch of couse). 08152018/UPDATE: I then requested for a replacement and this time go-keyboard.com did sent the keyboard within an go-keyboard.com shipping box instead of shipping it with its own box directly. The new one did not have any sight of being hit or smashed, so I’d say it’s a great improvement in regard of shipping.

    El teclado mecánico es bueno, pero por el precio caro que tiene, este tiene algunos detalles, pensé que quizás el modelo que me enviaron era un modelo defectuoso, pero al leer varios foros en internet, me dí cuenta que son problemas bastante comunes en todos los K70 1- Los bordes de aluminio aveces te dan toques eléctricos, muy suaves, pero si los tocas con tus dedos te dan toques, no ha sido una molestia para jugar, ya que mi brazo casi nunca toca los bordes del teclado 2- Aveces no funciona, Cuando enciendo mi ordenador, aveces el teclado no funciona y no encienden los leds, ¿como solucionarlo?, Fácil, desconectas y vuelves a conectar el teclado a la pc, no es muy seguido, pero en todo un año de uso, 365 días, me ha sucedido esto unas 25 o 30 veces. 3-Configuraciones del iCue, es un dolor de cabeza, aveces configuras con patrol de leds, y si te sales de la aplicación, automáticamentd cambia a otro patrón, o aveces no se quedan guardados los colores que eliges. No es nada grave, como teclado cumple su función, peor por el precio tan caro que tiene no esperaba tener ningún inconveniente

    10/8/2021 UPDATE.. So my keyboard caught on fire about 10 mins ago. Smoke rose while I was using it. Wish I could have seen my own face. It looks like the wires going into the keyboard shorted. CRAZY hot spot about 2 inches down the USB cable had melted through it’s insulation and started burning everything around it. So much fun……. 11 months later. Most used keys fall off with the slightest bump. If you fold the legs in DO NOT just pull your fingers out unless you want to play Perfection. Space bar suspension system completely failed and just popped up whichever side was not being pushed. Pretty much made my own 3D printed base AGAIN and glued it to the bottom of the space bar months ago. No issues. Right shift has started doing the same. Binds with anything input of center of the key. ICUE still does whatever it wants. Took off the G keys and printed up a cover in the end. Kept hitting the bottom 2 and could only reach the bottom 3 and most of the time hit 2 keys at once. I don’t look that the keys playing games. Probably works fine for most gamers. Seems to get dirty faster. Slightly rougher finish maybe? That one is really subjective. Lots of wow factor at first then the cracks begin to show. Keys that pop off. Switches that break. Wobbly keys. Software that CONSTANTLY needs to be restarted to detect the keyboard no matter which USB port you use. Sometimes the keyboard lights stay on when the computer shuts down. OMG whatever you do make sure it doesn’t bump anything. Cleaning my desk I pushed it to the side and the G3 key touched a bracket in my tray and it pushed into the tab key. ALL THE KEYS from Q to \ popped up. Not completely off just pushed off the switches. Make sure there is no way to drop the keyboard more than 2 inches. Ever played the game Perfection? I’ve never had so many issues with these until this model. These days it works when it wants to no matter which computer I plug it into. My other Corsair models are still going strong. Avoid this one and get another model. Update. If your space bar keeps popping out from using the ends only a simple quick fix is a little 3m tape slivers double stacked on each side which is way past the engagement point but stops the fulcrum action. Not so cheap fix unless you have a 3d printer. I made a 125mm 19mm 3.5mm bumper that stops it from popping off each side. Spacebar bows in the middle so try blocking the sides first. You may have luck putting something inside the outer slides inside the + stems as well. Long as they stop before the center switch it should stop popping off. Not worth dealing with returns and that’s the point of 3D printing. Instant engineering fun. Maybe it’s just me but I rest my thumb on the ALT and SPCB and it was popping off the right side every day. Got this in Jan and it’s been nothing but disconnects from the software and the spacebar falling apart over the last month. Software is no big deal but the the spacebar centering/full depress and return design is terrible. Nothing is broken. It just doesn’t hold up very well. I really did a number stepping on my K70 so I thought I would check out the K95. Feels very different when typing but you get used to it and it works. The Gunmetal finish is a nice change from everything with a cord is black. The extra keys on the said are just about useless and just added length as well as made it hard to set my left hand when not looking. Shifts finger placement and I have to look first. The Macro buttons are just there. You can’t use them without looking as a WASD player. I’d say G4 is about as good as it gets but the rest require your fingers to come off a bit to get G5 and G6. Forget no looks with the upper ones. RGB is nice. Keys look good. The top edge effect is sort or ruined by gaps of shade around upper controls. Only 1 pass through. Very tired of having to unplug the keyboard to get the software to see it. Happens all the time or it will forget your profile and not let you make a new one unless you unplug and plug back in. Software is a step back, It’s a nice keyboard but all the added extras over the other models along with the constant need to plug it back in leave me split. It’s Corsair. They keys and polish are top notch. The rest is not much better than the lower models and worse in some case. Avoid this one if space is tight or your only so so with added buttons. It’s still a good board but make sure the added options are what you are looking for.

    I am not a K & M nerd, or I wasn’t before I bought this. I was just looking to try a more ergonomic keyboard and I wondered what the hype was about mechanical keyboards. I did a little research and it seems that this one is the highest rated overall for an extended keyboard with macros. I am so impressed that I keep trying to find reasons to boot up and type. Pros: -Key pressing feels great. The feedback and sound is super gratifying. -The LED’s color range, brightness, and programmable display patterns are impressive. -The software capabilities for programming LED’s and Macros are wonderful once understood. -The keyboard has no latency whatsoever IMO. -I can’t seem to overstate how well made this keyboard feels. The base is metal and heavy feeling. The wrist rest rotates, the mounting is easy, the rubber part is held on with a magnetic strip so you can pop it off and clean it easily. The keys respond well and the switch mechanism feels solid. There is no play in the keys except to give for typing. The volume roller bar is solid and moves well. This keyboard is a wonderfully made device. -This keyboard can sync with other Corsair LED lit devices to have a continuous pattern. Cons: -The software can take a couple of minutes to understand, but I must say that I figure anyone willing to spend close to $200 on a keyboard is probably PC savvy enough to figure out pretty simple programming software. -The macro profiles saved to the device firmware don’t allow certain higher functions that are saved to the PC profies such as program launching. Also certain lighting profiles that you can stack on the PC profiles (such as have a base static color and other moving light profiles on top of the static one) don’t save to the hardware firmware. I understand that some of this is more than likely a storage size issue or the fact that one pc to another will have different program save data paths so it makes sense, I just want to note that it exists. Overall impression: I would recommend this keyboard to anyone with the cash to spend on this wonderfully built and designed piece of hardware. It has truly been a treat to own and operate this keyboard.

    EDIT OF MY EDIT: In under three years, the broken key count is up to 6-8 (I don’t really count anymore). I have replaced the “N” key with an underscore key, I have replaced the left arrow with a “W” key and I have simply glued broken up and right arrow keys in place. I have never seen ONE key break like this on a keyboard (in 40+ years of using computers), much less multiple ones. This is appalling. Getting a new key from Corsair is ridiculously hard, though when they send you “a key” they send you several, so I am using keys in places they aren’t supposed to be. =====original review======= The “J” key broke under normal usage in under three months. In 40+ years of using computers, I’ve never had a key just break off like this. Okay, fine, not that big a deal. Things happen. But getting a warranty replacement requires a fairly ridiculous level of documentation such as I’ve never seen for such a minor thing. My order confirmation wasn’t enough, they wanted the “final receipt” which isn’t really a thing. You’d think that showing I bought the thing would be enough, especially at these prices. Three stars (EDIT: downgraded to two, and it was a near thing to give it one) because the keyboard is pretty good, even if wildly overpriced. But I am very annoyed with the company. I’m also a little irritated that you can’t customize the lights, etc. on a Mac.

    Yes, this is an excellent keyboard! In the past I wasn’t picky on keyboards, until I started using them more and more in the recent years as a developer. Finding a really nice keyboard wasn’t easy, I searched through many keyboard reviews (text & video), and now this one seemed to meet what I thought was going to be a nice upgrade to my previous $30 keyboard… WOW I was wrong. This keyboard, the Corsair K95 keyboard has EXCEEDED my needs for an upgrade, and I have not been disappointed. As I type this review out on this magnificent piece of PC hardware, it has become the best part of my new custom PC build that I built in December 2020. Even better than my new AMD Ryzen 9 3950X CPU! And I really like the CPU, but this keyboard is a masterpiece to my new PC build. After using my old Microsoft keyboard from my 2012 build, this keyboard has earned a place in my heart and soul. For the price, this keyboard is worth it for every dollar spent. The keystrokes are registered so perfectly, it’s like Apple magic. I sometimes feel that I’m using an Apple computer, but this Windows updates messes that feeling up 😀 If this keyboard didn’t meet or exceed my needs and expectations, I was considering to get a Model M keyboard by Unicomp. The mechanical switches are very solid, but not too soft. The seem to provide just enough loft for any task, word processing, coding, gaming, command line interface, and whatever you can think of. The features are great, and many other keyboards have similar features, but what makes this the best modern keyboard is the way it feels when completing any task with it. At first it took some time for me to get adjusted to how smooth it is, but I’ve grown to love it more and more every day. If you’re looking for the best modern keyboard today, then look no further!
