   Needs a headphone jack…

   -update- LED’s go dead one after another. Also… the keyboard has a bad habit of shorting out now and then for some odd reason. Not sure why yet, but will be sure to update this when I figure it out. Doesn’t hurt anything, but does require it to be unplugged and replugged back in now and then. I think it has something to do with the USB port on the keyboard itself. I use it for my mouse, as the cord is too short.

   This keyboard looks and feels great, but the LEDs are absolute trash. My first one lost its first three lights in the fourth month of ownership without any sort of abuse. Corsair does have a really user friendly customer service/support website, and it was easy to submit a ticket and attach photos to show the problem I was having along with the receipt of purchase. They had me ship my keyboard to them (I had to cover shipping costs), and the day that they received it they sent a new one back to me. This one was perfect for a whole month and a half before my “T” key was no longer illuminated. I don’t understand what the issue with these K95s is, I have many friends with K70s that are flawless. At the time of writing this, 58 of the keys are not lit, and 3 keys you can barely tell are lit. I love the keyboard, and I really hope the RGB model works because I think I’m going to give that a shot after very thoroughly reading reviews to see if the LEDs are just as bad. I’m debating giving customer service another go, hopefully I’ll be able to pay the difference and upgrade to an RGB instead of getting another one of these. The photo attached was taken about 5 months ago, 11 bulbs have gone out since then. I was torn between giving it 2 and 3 stars, but I had to go with the lower one because of how awful it makes my build look and feel. Oh I should also mention that the software for programming macros is very intuitive, and I believe that you can have 3 separate macro profiles that are easily switched with the same keys that change which keys are illuminated.

   This is the second mechanical keyboard I’ve owned, and I love it to death. When they announced the K95 I was very excited, I love Corsair, so I per-ordered it on go-keyboard.com and finally received it a month later. So I will tell you my impressions so far. So far after several days of using this keyboard I can say for sure it’s really worth the money. The keyboard is exposed under the keys allowing for easy cleaning, and this is a big deal for me, I live in an area where it gets dusty easily(plus I have cats jumping everywhere). I am a headphone user so adjusting the audio with the volume control is easier than adjusting it with the Windows volume control(especially in games). The wrist wrest is very nice, it’s covered in some foamy plastic, I don’t know the proper name for the plastic foamy stuff, but it’s comfortable! The mechanical “cherry MX red” keys feels so good, I like them more than the “cherry MX blues”, but typing is better with the blues(the clickity noise was cool on blues too). The plastic on the k95 is solid and looks really superb. All around the keyboard also feels heavy and solid all around. Pros(+) – Cherry MX Red Keys(Personal Preference) – Good Strong Plastic – Amazing Wrist Wrest with plastic foamy cover – Media Controls – Corsair designed and made with great warranty coverage – Quality Built Keyboard – Easy to Clean – Looks incredibly awesome! – Wrist wrest screws in(I have many wrist wrests break because it was plastic connected only) – 18 Programmable G-Keys – Reds are easy to type with, but still not blues. Cons(-) -Lights(This is personal preference, but white lights seem odd, but not a big deal, I will do a blue/white colour scheme on my new case I ordered) -You may feel a bit disoriented at first looking at the lights, they are bright, maybe it was just me, but they were visually overwhelming at first. About Cherry MX Reds: Type: Linear Switch Tactile: No Clicky: No Actuation Force: 45g Key Travel: 2mm to actuation, 4mm to bottom Cherry MX-Red keys are a great for gaming, they are lighter, and require less force to register. It’s said that blues are better for typing, I agree, but not by much if you are good at typing without looking, reds are great(now that I’m used to the keyboard I don’t make any errors or have issues with them being light). Reds just feel really good to press. Would I recommend this keyboard? YES! This is an awesome keyboard! If you hate the white lights get the K70 with red lights, but it has no G keys like the K95. So I would give this product a darn good recommendation to any gamer out there! For those who are planning to invest money into this keyboard, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I have posted images above of the keyboard as well in the image section.

   I hate it because for the cost it has Leds failing like crazy every month. Already up to 9 fried leds. But it functions great. Update: Purchase was on February 6, 2014. And It’s October 10, 2015 I uploaded some photos to show what is going to happen to you regardless. Low light pic and As Bright as it can go pic. I’m aware of the custom lighting too, And They still don’t work. But The Keyboard Is still good other than the crap led’s.

   works fine
   6 months on and eight dead LED’s. Very disappointing durability for such a expensive piece of hardware. This is not a power issue iether as my system is behind a UPS and not exposed to any power fluctuations. My confidence in corsair products is shaken. Is this a bad batch of LED’s or what is the problem? The Corsair forum has many simillar posts to mine.

   Everyone else is on point about this keyboard, so I will keep this brief. I love almost everything about it, but the LED lights keep going out. I am currently on keyboard #3 with Corsair customer service. This latest one failed the fastest. Very frustrating and annoying. I will update review as more information comes about. However, at this time I would recommend looking at other keyboards.

   Keyboard works fine but LEDs started dying about 3 months in. Now about 1.5 years in is the attached photo. About 50% of the LEDs are dead. Keyboard still functions fine but it would be nice to have a fully lit board. Maybe I just got a bad board but I can’t say I would recommend anyone to buy the k95.

   All these bad reviews for burnt out leds? You people are cry babies.. Fix it or get over it, everything on this keyboard can be fixed or replaced.. Ive had mine since 2014 gets used almost every day, it has been an amazing piece of hardware. The software for this G keys is super easy to set up.. Thanks Corsair!

    At first it was a bit hard to type on compare to a laptop but it get use to it easily, So this keyboard in all got 54 macro’s with the 18 keys. Lighting it nicely looking clean and bright. And the face of the keyboard is made out of aluminium so its really robust as build.

    As a general keyboard, it’s alright. All the LED backlights on the keys will stop working over time, even if you leave the backlights off. That’s a manufacturing defect. I ordered this in October 2013, and only the row of number keys and maybe 33 other keys still have their lights working. It seems that over 60 of the keys’ lights have malfunctioned. Within the warranty period, which I think was 90 days, I had filed for an RMA but considered it still usable. Now, however, I would rather just buy another keyboard from a more reliable quality manufacturer. I do not consider Corsair a manufacturer of reliable products. Before this keyboard, I used Apple branded keyboards. I definitely would not be using an Apple branded keyboard anymore, but I would go with a mechanical keyboard or just keep ignoring the fact that the backlights, which were very nice to have while they were lasting, will be no more. I removed the wrist rest; its screws were flimsy anyway and broke. I’d summarize this by saying that everything besides the basics of its key functionality is flimsy and breaks all by itself.
