   I bought the keyboard back then in 2015, which means I own it for 2 years now. I love it very much, and the Wrist Rest is absolutely wonderful – so smooth and nice to touch.    Its a great keyboard but expect to be disappointed in the back light. after talking with Corsair they (to sum it up) said that they sacrificed brightness for the benefit of having RGB so the back light is not as bright. if RGB is your only goal then get the board but you wont be able to see in the dark the lower half of the keys icons. the pics are at 100% brightness, the one with the top row of numbers I had more light in the shot so its not as distorted as it really is. … Examples are the top number bar, I can see the alternate characters but not the numbers themselves or the alternate keys of the numpad and the following keys ; ‘ , . / [ ] \ – = ` as-well-as shift tab enter. … to the details The sacrifice spoke of comes from moving the LED itself. Evidently they had an issue on some boards where the heat would kill the LED so they moved it from above to below the switch for better thermals. with this change the switch shaft now produces a shadow effect for the lower part of the key-cap. Also the color of the switch material was changed from black to clear, the clear plastic absorbs and reflects the light giving you a different back-light effect. … I am going to return the RGB and get the standard model, but brown or red switches?..

   The keyboard itself is solid and works well. However, the arm rest that comes with it is flimsy. Unlike the keyboard itself, which has a sturdy metal body, the arm rest is made of plastic. The plastic tabs that hold it in place are poorly designed and break off easily. To make matters worse, Corsair refuses to replace the part under its warranty. Instead, they want $10, plus tax and shipping, to replace the armrest. Fortunately the keyboard works without the armrest.

   Like most things Corsair, this keyboard is built sturdy and built to last. the textured keys it includes are pretty great and the 1,6,w,a,d keys are sloped up at one side to encourage your fingers to stay on those keys during gaming (I have yet to try this because I had it shipped to the office and I’ve been messing around on it here. The Red switches can be a bit to get used to, they activate after very short travel, so you don’t have to slam the key all the way down to achieve switch activation, the decreased resistance is nice, and there is a bit of clacking when the keys bottom out, which I personally enjoy, but it can be remedied with a set of rubber O-rings. The Black and red design looks very clean and the flat base tray makes it super easy to clean without needing to remove all of the keys. I’ll have to see how this keyboard does in game, but over all I would say if you have the money, buy it.

   I had the Gigabyte Aivia Osmium which while I liked had severe issues, i had it replaced 3 times by go-keyboard.com because of double and triple stroke issues, i would hit the the K key and get KKK, same with other keys. So I looked around and stumbled on this corsair k70 and i couldn’t be happier. The keys are about 40% brighter, a tad softer and not as loud, the build is much better with its aluminum body and floating keys, cleaning this bad boy is a breeze, just tilt and blow. Did i mention the Brightness of the keys is stunningly bright. I havent dug real deep into the settings but so far im beyond pleased.

   Fantastic quality. Sturdy plastic base with brushed aluminum top finish. Thick braided power cord (about 2cm thick!) Keys are lightning fast. Red leds have many modes and options. The optional curved and textured WASD and 1-6 keys are amazing for gaming once you get used to them. Overall, I wouldn’t buy any other keyboard besides maybe a more expensive Corsair but if you don’t mind just red leds, then this is definitely a steal for the price!

   I’ve only had mine for about a week now(cherry red), but so far I’m loving, definitely my favorite keyboard I’ve tried. It’s also my first mechanical keyboard so unfortunately I can’t compare it to any others, except for cheap $20 keyboards and the small bluetooth one I used to use with my Mac. This thing is solid and build like a tank. Its pretty loud but not terrible. I wish the hand wrest was a bit longer, but its better than nothing and does feel good though not great. The official software doesn’t work on Mac but I was able to get a third party download that works just as good, except the fact I can’t download other people’s profiles. It only comes with a couple cool ones like the Rainbow one. The macro keys and lighting and lighting animation possibilities are endless. I changed the control button to be used as a command button for OS X and it works great, since its not as easy to press the windows key for everything since its between the control and alt buttons. The only gripe I have is that its $170 for a keyboard, but I guess I spent like $50 a while ago for the bluetooth one I used for the mac and this is loads better, so I can’t gripe too much! This thing is such a pleasure to type with, and the volume scroller thing is super smooth and feels like high quality material.

   What can I say? This is the best keyboard I’ve ever used. I own the black version of this keyboard with Cherry MX Red switches (light and linear). I’ve used a friend’s mechanical keyboard on many occasions and I was never a fan of the construction of the board itself. Corsair didn’t cut any corners on this one. The main body is cut from a piece of extruded aluminum with a shallow fold in the center that houses the key switches. The brushed, black anodized finish is incredibly done and has a has a beautiful deep-brushed texture. The black anodized Corsair logo is milled into the top of the aluminum frame and oozes sleek looks and how well built the keyboard is. The included wrist rest has a hard rubber finish (great for sliding your wrists around during typing) and snaps on from the back and feels robust for being plastic.The cable for the K70 is very thick and has a beautiful, tight-weave, braided black fabric sleeve that runs the entire length and splits into two red USB plugs (one for the keyboard, the other optional for a USB pass-through from the back of the keyboard). The back has four feet than can be flipped out to raise the board in any tilted configuration you can come up with. They MX Red switches on the black version that I own are utterly amazing to type with. They are linear and have a very well tuned actuation which feels smooth and precise. The actuation travel happens about 1/3 of the way down and there is no bump or click. The whole actuation feels very smooth and event-less and feels totally foreign to a typical bubble dome key. The MX Reds are no-nonsense, quality keys and typing on them for the first time is really impressive. These switches have many benefits for gaming; the rebound is very quick and quick presses of a key are easily achieved and doesn’t tire your fingers. The keys are not too bouncy, which is excellent for typing, but they do return quickly enough for fast tapping or repeated presses. The main key layout is fairly standard, but the keys themselves sit very high off the aluminum frame which looks great but also allows for easy removal and cleaning; this is probably my favorite aspect of the K70. The keys are all inwardly (concave) curved on one axis (curving side to side) and feel very comfortable on your fingers. The spacebar is outwardly curved (convex) and has a fine triangle texture on it that helps for fps gaming and for accurate, fast actuation in typing. The plastic keycaps feels like they are coated with either epoxy or some other tough resin and have a very subtle ‘soft-touch’ feel to the material. The font on the keys is easily legible, but is slightly informal for my tastes (just my opinion). There are also optional gaming keys for WASD and numbers 1-5 that have a red, textured finish and heavily exaggerated curving to help you space your hand for WASD control. I don’t use these personally, but it’s a great option to have. The media keys on the top right are one of my other favorite parts of the K70; they are made from a nice rubberized plastic and are simple in layout and function (in order: Stop, Skip back, Play/Pause, Skip forward). Above the media keys is a mute button a volume roller. The roller is wide and made from black-anodized aluminum with an engraved diamond pattern on it; it’s lightly dampened and is incredibly precise and is loads of fun to play with! To the left of the volume rocker are three buttons to control the lighting mode (individual control vs. all keys), a brightness button (Modes: LEDs off, and three levels of brightness), and a windows lock key that lights up when you engage it. There are also three white LEDs just to the right before the volume roller that indicate numlock, capslock, and scroll-lock. The backlighting on the keys on the black K70 looks fantastic and ominous in its saturated and striking red hue. The three brightness levels are well spaced and on the brightest setting I can easily see them under a bright light (at night this setting is blinding!) The high keys allow for much of the LED light to spill out onto the aluminum frame and glow back at you. Really cool stuff and it helps you see which keys are lit up on the program modes. If you press the lighting mode key you can light individual keys by holding down the button; it will blink allowing you to press buttons and light them individually, then holding the button again allows you to set the keys you have chosen for that mode. Pressing the lighting mode button again will turn on all of the lights. A hidden function of the lighting mode button is to put the keyboard into individual lighting mode and then hold the mode button and the control key for a few seconds: the keys will now light up for about 1/2 second after you press them and then turn off. It’s not useful, but it looks really cool! (holding down the same two buttons will disengage this mode). Overall the key accuracy and feel of typing on the K70 is purely enjoyable on every level. Smooth and precise, comfortable and engaging. Here are my overall thoughts on the Black K70 with MX Reds: Pros: – Outstanding build quality, materials, and design – Very durable and beautiful frame/finish – Smooth, accurate keystrokes for effortless typing and pressing(even better for gaming!) – Tall key switches/caps for easy cleaning and a flexible typing space – Optional contoured gaming keycaps – Included keycap puller – Useful and great-looking backlighting – Lots of lighting modes and interesting possibilities – Well thought out media keys are the best volume control I’ve ever used – Thick, robust cabling with impeccable sleeving – USB pass-through on the back of the keyboard (single) – Overall, clean and amazing aesthetics to match the performance Cons: – Expensive – Blacklighting on the number keys isn’t quite even (the alternate functions light up brighter than the numbers on the bottom) – Wrist rest could be slightly larger/taller – Tall key position might put some people off (this is preference, personally I enjoy this) – Only backlighting color is red, again this comes down to preference This is a fantastic keyboard, and one I hope to use for a very long time. Corsair nailed this design and it pulls out all the stops in terms of build quality, typing/usability, and aesthetics. I highly recommend getting this keyboard not only for gaming, but for a fantastic typing experience.

    I love this keyboard. I am wary of reports of the leds going out, so I will update this review if any problems arise. Cherry browns were definitely the right choice for me and no I’m double tapping like a boss. The WASD keycaps are great to use as their textured feel makes finding my spot easy to find. I’ve seen another review where a customer did not like having these on for typing. For me personally, there are no problems typing with these keycaps. Albeit I am new at this type of key as I’m used to rubber domes. Maybe my harder presses are why I have no problem. The Browns are nice and light compared to rubber domes and it took a few days to get used to them. I still make more mistakes than I used to because I’m still trying to acclimate to mechanical keys. The build feels solid and the volume scroll wheel is great to use! Sometimes the scroll lock led will blink on and off for awhile which is a little annoying. I generally just switch the back switch to bios then all the way back to—problem solved. I can see what other people were saying about the light not fully enveloping the translucent keycaps—a minor issue. The led output is satisfactory in an indoor setting, but I guess in a full sunlight level of light it might seem a little dim. It’s totally fine though. Once again I will update this if I find anything different.

    This is a nice weighty keyboard with a very good feel too it. The keys have just the right amount of travel and are not too noisy – at least for a keyboard with cherry switches.
    The metal base makes it feel solid and keeps it in place. I love the backlight as I tend to sit and type in the dark.
    I’ve taken off the palm rest as it was a dust and dirt magnet.
    Speaking of dirt, the included tool for removing the keys helps while cleaning as well – if you don’t mind taking the keys off one by one every now and then.
    It does not come with a million different colour options for the lights or marcos for the keys but excels at what it’s supposed to do.

    I was very excited about getting this keyboard. I bought corsair cause I thought they make really good quality gaming gear. I’ve only had this keyboard for about 5 months, and the key caps lettering is rubbing right off. I know I can buy new key caps but I shouldn’t have to, this isn’t a cheap keyboard. Notice in the picture the keys that I use most for gaming are worn right off. It’s like they painted them on. Really sad that I won’t be buying anymore corsair products cause I really like their pc cases.

    Great keyboard, high quality in every single way.

    It is very satisfying to type, it is cherry red so key activation is much easier. I’m still trying to get used to typing since I’m a fast type and I end up pressing other keys on accident.

    My complaints are that the media keys are much lower than the normal keys. The WASD and Numbers 1-6 can be changed for textured keys. I find that the WASD key’s contours make it more difficult to type. Perhaps during gaming situations it wouldn’t matter. The textured number keys are missing the shift key prints. What I mean by this is on the actual key itself, only the number is printed. So on the 1 key, it only shows 1 instead of 1 and !. My complaints are quite small and this keyboard was completely worth it.

    First and foremost, this model (CH-9000063-NA) does indeed sport the original classic Corsair logo and NOT the hideous new Corsair tramp stamp gaming logo. Mine was purchased May 22nd 2015. I’ve attached photos of the unit I received from go-keyboard.com. You’ll notice that the Part/Model number label on the box was covered with a white sticker, which immediately made me think that the unit I received was a newer model in an older box, but thankfully that turned out to be false. Also, I’m running an ASUS Maximus VII Hero Z97 motherboard and have NO problems with the BIOS hanging up when I boot my computer. This had apparently been a problem early on when this product was released but appears to have been ironed out with software and firmware updates. Just make sure you download and read the Corsair K70 Quick Start Guide and FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS PRECISELY before attempting to use the K70. There’s plenty of great reviews on this product so I’ll just say that I’m beyond pleased with the build quality, it’s insanely customizable, and it looks FANTASTIC!!! The keystrokes are a little loud (even the Reds) but they are Cherry MX so that’s to be expected. This is EASILY the best RGB Keyboard on the market right now.

    (My “e” key is now brokn) I’ve gone through two of theseee keyboards. The first one had som of th buttons feling funny. Aftr pulling th button coveeers I found that somee of th switchs were cherry browns and some chrry red on the same keyboard! How does that gt past QA? Now, just outsid the warranty period on the 2nd one buttons started failing, especially the “e” key. Do yourself a favor and do a wb search on K70 issues! Thy ar numeerous! Edit: I’ve attached a picture of the mismatched Cherry key types on my first defective K70.

The only thing I’ve noticed is that the space bar is not textured like the picture on the box its just a smooth bar with a white line in the middle of the button.     REVIEW: Corsair Vengeance K70 mechanical gaming keyboard. CH-9000067-NA (UPS CODE: 843591049665) As a transcriptionist, I wanted a more durable, reliable, and back-lit keyboard. I heard about the Das keyboard Model S, but wanted to look at all my options. After narrowing down my search, I chose Corsair (Vengeance K70) over Das (Model S). I chose the Cherry MX Brown switches over the Red and Blue switches because I liked having the tactile feedback but didn’t want the audible clicking noise. The Corsair K70 is back-lit and comes with a wrist rest, multimedia controls, and extra keys that you can swap out. (W, A, S, D and the 1 through 6 keys that are red and have a different texture, along with a “key puller.”) The Das Model S does not have any of these great features. The Das was $10 more for their equivalent keyboard option (Model S w/Cherry MX Brown switches, $139). For all of these reasons, I chose the Corsair Vengeance K70 gaming mechanical keyboard over the Das Model S mechanical gaming keyboard. The keys themselves are very durable. The lettering itself looks brand new after two months of heavy use. The keys also look brand new with no gouging or wear marks. The one problem I had when I first got the keyboard was that when I was typing and hitting the spacebar, oftentimes I would get two spaces instead of a single space. But, as I got used to the keyboard and possibly also “broke it in” a little bit, that issue went away for me. You can, at times, see the keyboard showing a little bit of fingerprinting, but again the keyboard wipes up really quickly and easily, and so that hasn’t been an issue for me either. Overall, I really do like this keyboard. I’m very happy with my purchase. I think it’s worth the $129-plus that it cost me to get it.     I looked at a lot videos and researched Mechanical Keyboards. Everybody agrees that once you use a mechanical, you will feel the difference. I have to say after using this for a month now, I am very impressed with it. The joy of typing on this keyboard is amazing. I preferred the Cherry MX Brown because I wanted something between a Blue and a RED. Red is for gaming with no tactile feedback and blue has the most feedback and more sound. Brown is something in between with a slightly lower feedback and sound, but still responsive like the red. The media keys were also important for me so i could adjust volume easily while gaming or watching movies on my PC without having to use mouse or combination of keys on the keyboard. This is a great buy!!

    Been anticipating the release of this keyboard since it was first revealed, now that I’ve got one I’d say it was well worth the wait & $. I was a bit worried at first after browsing thru Corsair’s forums and reading the numerous issues others are having but I’ve experienced no problems whatsoever since I got it, that includes the software. Guess I’m lucky with Corsair because I’ve never had a bad experience with any of their products I’ve bought. The build quality of this keyboard screams premium, the all black chassis with it’s gorgeous brushed aluminum surface and the visible cherry mx switches look amazing. It’s built very solid and I expect it to last me a very long time. The included wrist support snaps on effortlessly and is made of a very comfortable soft rubberized material. The cable is braided and feels very durable. This keyboard requires two usb 2.0 / or one usb 3.0 port for it to work As per corsair’s connection requirements: Connecting via USB 3.0 Use one connector (the one with the keyboard icon) when connecting via USB 3.0 Connecting via USB 2.0 Use both connectors when using USB 2. Important Note: Plug in the connector with the two arrows icon first, and the connector with the keyboard icon second. there is no usb pass through however, which isn’t a big deal for me personally. I had hoped they would’ve included the textured keys / keycap puller from the previous K70, but looks like I’ll have to buy them separately. For gaming the textured keys would’ve been a nice addition to have. Maybe future versions may include them but I’m doubtful. This is actually my first official mechanical keyboard and the most advanced one I’ve ever used, but not my first experience with cherry mx switches as I own a razer orbweaver. The cherry mx reds are a pleasure to type on, smooth responsive click, but I do prefer the tactile feedback of the blues which the orbweaver uses so I may switch whenever it releases. Media buttons function as they should & the volume scroll wheel has a very smooth movement. There’s also a handy windows key lock button included. The leds….oh the sweet leds. The main reason anyone is even considering purchasing this keyboard. They’re very bright and look great but as others have mentioned the keys that have secondary characters on them are not lit fully as the led is mounted to the top of the switch so you find that only the top characters are properly illuminated. It’s a bit lame but it doesn’t detract from the overall effect imo. Hopefully this may be corrected in future releases. There are three levels of brightness which can be controlled via a button on the keyboard or via software. There are already a couple different user created led profiles on Corsair’s forum which I’ve tried and they work beautifully. The effects are lag free and work seamlessly. My personal fav right now is called heat 😀 Speaking of software, this is where Corsair has received the most flack, when I attempted using it at first it was very confusing & took some time figuring it out, there were also some useful youtubers who posted tutorials which also helped me. I’m still not 100% versed in it but I can find my way around now much more easily and haven’t had any issues with it crashing or led profiles not working. They (Corsair) have stated that improvements will be made and eventually it will be become more user friendly as well as more powerful in terms of advanced scripting to be included. The software is not bad at all imo, just a steep learning curve to use it which will get better as time progresses. IMO the future competition from logitech/razer/cougar or whoever else are planning to release rgb mechanicals are not even in the same league, this board definitely stands out. So in conclusion I’m extremely satisfied with this keyboard and may only return it to get the blues when they are released. It’s a first batch release so it’s expected to have a couple problems being reported, things will get better over time. This is must have for any PC enthusiast.
