   HyperX Alloy FPS (First Person Shooter) Gaming Keyboard: Main feature is that all the keys are lighted with LED and in custom setting, keys can be selectively back lighted. There is steel frame to provide solid keyboard feel. Pressing Function Control and pressing any keys can selectively choose which key will be lighted and pressing Function + Control makes the choices saved. Keyboard comes with its own USB phone charging port. Cable has two usb female ports to connect to back of computer to enable keyboard phone charging and allow keyboard to be powered in addition to keyboard data connectivity. It comes with a soft case. Keyboard is designed and manufactured in Germany. It has several features like anti ghosting and full N-key rollover, 6 LED back lit modes. 8 key caps are replaceable with red textured key caps for better game play. Connection is via USB 2.0. It has media control keys for playing movies. Keyboard function differs from regular keyboard in that pressing tab changes the tab location on menu choices like drop down menu instead of pushing a text edit tab. Control + C or V doesn’t mean Copy and Paste. Some key functions that are used in Mac just require memorizing key combination to navigate to different short cut combination.

   If you’re person that just want a nice regular mechanical keyboard that’s not too flashy this is the keyboard for you nice red LEDs a few effects the only issue is the charging port for your phone can not be used as a USB port to connect accessories like a mouse it will charge anything you connect to it but that’s it it’s pretty heavy so it won’t be moving when you’re playing or typing so it’s pretty sturdy and kind of heavy but I like that simple and and doesn’t take too much space and your desk

   I got the hyperx alloy cherry mx red for 5.6k on go-keyboard.com prime day sale and damn I am so happy with this product. I previously had jixian switches keyboard. And these reds are so quiet and soft and satisfying as heck!!
   I have had it for a month and I have played fps games and even gta and this was really good!!! Also this keyboard is really good for typing as well but since its actuating force is 0.45N(less pressure) so some might find difficult to type due to mistypes.
   But i dont think its 9.3k worth…wait for a deal then just grab it!

   Great keyboard. Mine came with cherry browns. Nice and heavy. Keys are not to loud. The keys with the cherry brown in them have a distinct feel. Very clicky in a really great way. I won’t go back now that I have tried a mechanical keyboard. The lights are cool and easy to set. Came with red keys that are textured. 1234 and wasd keys. It is way smaller than the MSi DS4200 that I had. Gives me more room around it. The top portion of the keyboard is metal and feels great. I could feel the difference when I played different FPS games. If you’re looking for an amazing keyboard for gaming and typing this is it.

   True, this is a gaming keyboard. But if you’re looking for a uber-strong keyboard this one will do as well. This is my first true gaming keyboard as I was always looking for too many bells and whistles. I can say my gameplay is a tad better due the responsive of the keys. There is no question whether you hit the key or not. The Cherry MX blue keys are made for repetitive strokes. As many as your little fingers can press. Heavy fingered? No problems. Pound away you beast of a human! Each key should be good for 50 million key strokes. These keys do click and make noise. Most gamers use headsets so this shouldn’t be an issue. If your family complains just shut the door or throw them out of your house. The frame is metal with a decent heft. Less likely to move when fighting Orc’s or running tanks against the communists. A nifty sleeve is included so you can bring your keyboard for extended gaming weekends at the Wizard Caves of Uldor. There’s an extra USB port for *charging* only. You will need 2 free USB ports to properly use this keyboard. It would have been nicer for a regular, usable port, instead of charge only. Included are some red key caps. These are to highlight the WASD and 1234 keys for FPS gaming. The WASD keys are textured which makes it easier to keep your fingers in place during intense battles. The red LED lights are uber cool and can be customized. Use the FN key and the left/right arrows to switch modes. Personally I prefer a steady glow as I don’t look at the keyboard during intense battles. I’ve never used Anti-Ghosting or N-key rollover, but here’s what HyperX says about it: Game mode disables the Windows key to prevent accidental interruptions, while Anti-Ghosting and full N-key rollover let you press all keys simultaneously, with every keystroke registering and executed as quickly as you command. FYI: The num lock (1) and cap lock (A) are located on the upper right of the 10-key pad. Lighted too! All-in-all, I like the keyboard. It’s a tad smaller than what I’m used to, but it’s designed for gaming and it works wonders. There’s a nice audible ‘click’ when engaging, not the normal ‘mushy’ feel and confusing. I can type documents as required but can still break away for a rousing Orc battle. A 2-year warranty is included. Designed in Germany, assembled in China.

    I have dealt with a number of keyboards and this one has been the best. It’s steel body weighs the keyboard down not allowing it to slip around. They keys are beautiful and feel great. The minimalistic design allows room for more desk space when not needed and still provides the main functional keys. I use the power USB to charge my headphones. The wires to the keyboard are braided and strong they fit well with my red computer build. I have had no problems with it and have been using it for a couple months.

How does it compare to other blue switches keyboard with lower price range? I have Kailh and Xinda blue switches’ keyboard with me right now to compare. Among them, Cherry MX has the highest actuation force, follow by Kailh then Xinda. This make Cherry MX much more clicky. As for loudness, Xinda is the loudest, follow by Cherry MX then Kailh. Cherry MX gives the best tactile feedback, follow by Kailh and Xinda at last. Overall, Cherry MX has the best clickly feel and experience yet having moderate loudness. HyperX keyboard offers two modes – 6KRO and NKRO (N-key rollover or 100% Anti-Ghosting). 6KRO mode is enabled by default. What are 6KRO and NKRO? And you can turn it off totally too. Personally, I love to use trigger and wave modes while typing. And custom mode while gaming. Yes, I enable backlight those keys that needed in games. This will help to ease finding those keys faster.     Back in 2020, I spilled a serious amount of soda on this thing and immediately tried to soak up as much as I could with paper towels while frantically pulling out keys. I knew in the back of my head that there was no f***ing way I would be able to avoid that sticky key feeling, but I kept my head up and pep talked myself out of it. I went to bed in hopes that my soda was dilute enough so that my efforts were not in vain. I woke up the next morning with the stickiest keyboard I have ever laid my hands on. Some keys rose like zombies from their graves while others I had sworn I permanently glued to the PCB. It was a piece of molasses and it genuinely had me questioning what Mountain Dew Baja Blast was made out of. Out of hopelessness and desperation, I disassembled this keyboard and threw all of the parts in my dishwasher, cranked it to high heat, and ran it for an hour. I’m writing this review now in 2022 as I have, once again, spilled soda, and, once again, ran it through the dishwasher. I am still typing on this baby to date and every key on this thing still works. This thing is a UNIT. TLDR 1) This keyboard is durable. Will put up with your BS. 10/10 2) Stop drinking soda.

    This keyboard replaces a sticking membrane keyboard that came with a major brand OEM computer. Mechanical keyboards feel so much better and are a pleasure to use. The MX Red felt great with the TKL I already have (see picture); therefore I thought I give this more compact HyperX Alloy FPS (no separate media keys) a try. I did not want the noisy MX Blue key switches and have not seen the MX Brown (silent tactile) in showrooms. This keyboard does not have separate media keys. Having to press the FN key to adjust the speakers really is not as much a bother as I expected. The ability to adjust keyboard lighting and light pattern without software is a big plus (you adjust using FN and the arrow key cluster). The edges of the key caps are not as rounded as my TKL. I feel my TKL key caps are more comfortable, but it is just a matter of preference. One thing odd was the 2-headed cable. You will need two available USB ports to fully utilize the non-pass-through charging port, as the second USB plug is used to supply power only to charge a device but not to transfer data to/from it. Overall this is a very nice keyboard, although a little dated. However, I thought I’d pick up this keyboard with MX Red switches at a great price as HyperX moved to their own mechanical key switches in the newer Origins series.

    Overall: 5/5 stars Great product. I will break down the Pros and Cons for y’all! PROS: – Super fast shipping; arrived at my house within 72 of ordering. – Solid feeling construction and materials. – Braided cord. – USB slot on the front for your mouse, phone or whatever. – Sleek and minimalist look. – Price is fair; $99 out the door. – Great feeling on keypress. Responsive action. – Cool keyboard sock for LAN party or general travel with your equipment. – 8 additional colored keys to throw on, if that is your thing. CONS: – The red glow doesn’t do it for me. More of a blue or green type of guy. Not really a deal-breaker though. – Requires 2 open UBS ports in the back of your PC. This doesn’t bother me, but it may be a negative for someone. – The cherry blue keys are LOUD. keep in mind this IS a mechanical keyboard, so you need to expect some extra noise. This does not bother me because I am used to it, but it may be slightly annoying for some. – USB cord is only approx 6 feet long. Usually more than enough length for most people.     I was looking for my first mechanical keyboard as I work next to some programmers (prima donnas! [J/K]). I am also a gamer and avid typist, so I went with the Cherry MX Brown switches per some of their recommendations. I am in love with these keys and will NEVER go back to a membrane keyboard again…This HyperX Alloy Keyboard does not disappoint. Absolutely the best keyboard I have ever used, period. I’m sure there are other folks out there with more experience and input, but I have to say how impressed I am with this. Personally, I was looking for a white or blue back-lit keys; however, the red ones with this offering are VERY nice. You can adjust the LED signal and brightness with some different modes. The keys feel fantastic. This keyboard is definitely high quality – it’s surprisingly heavy (as most mechanical keyboards are), keys feel amazing, color looks great, and the extra WASD, 1234 keys added a nice touch! Just what I needed for gaming so you can quickly differentiate those keys by color and touch (they are scored to look like metal hash design). It also comes with a nice, heavy mesh transport bag.

    Having enjoyed the use of modern mechanical keyboards in the past decade or so, including the Gigabyte Aivia Osmium Mechanical Gaming Keyboard (with Cherry MX Red Switches), ROCCAT RYOS MK Pro Mechanical Gaming Keyboard (with Cherry MX Blue Switches), and Logitech G710+ Mechanical Gaming Keyboard (with Cherry MX Brown switches), among many others, I’ve become quite the advocate for premium keyboards of this type. Outside of portable computing, which is presently served by a Microsoft Surface Pro 3, I practically insist on using a mechanical keyboard. While gaming responsiveness is certainly a factor, I do tons of typing, which is why the solid feel and quick action of a good mechanical keyboard is so important to me. While my personal holy grail – yet to be met – is a wireless, backlit, mechanical keyboard with a tenkey (number) pad, I believe I’ve found the next best thing in the HyperX Alloy FPS Mechanical Gaming Keyboard. My current standing desk at home has a lot going on with its top surface, including two lights, a 3D printer, Surface Pro 3 dock, XRGB-mini, AverMedia Live Gamer Portable, and an ultra widescreen monitor, in addition to my keyboard, wireless trackball, various knick knacks, and a small workspace for books, magazines, or notepads to reference. As such, I was looking for a way to supplant my effective, but bulky, ROCCAT RYOS MK Pro, which has a permanently attached, and thick, braided USB cable. Basically, there was no easy way with my current setup to place that keyboard to one side when I needed more desk space. With no suitable wireless options available, the compact HyperX Alloy, complete with detachable, braided USB cable, seemed like a great alternative. I can just detach the miniUSBcable from the back of the keyboard when I need more space, and plug it back in when I need it again. Simple. Here are the HyperX Alloy’s key features: – Cherry MX Blue switches, which are ideal for typing – Compact design with a solid-steel frame – Detachable miniUSB cable – Red backlit keys – USB charging port (if a second USB port is used on the computer end of the USB cable) – Full anti-ghosting and N-key rollover support (basically lets you press as many keys as you want at the same time) While there are no dedicated media or other specialized keys, nor software for things like backlight and other customization, you can still control media functions and cycle through six preset LED modes for the backlighting (including “off,” of course, and keys you specify) with simple key combinations. For all the fancy keyboards (and related) that I’ve bought over the years, I rarely, if ever, used the customization software (other than maybe a one button press to bring up something like Notepad++ or the calculator), and I rarely, if ever, changed my lighting preferences, including when fancy RGB light shows were available. In that regard, I absolutely don’t miss any of that here. In the package you get the keyboard itself, mesh travel pouch, USB cable, and various paperwork. You also get a keycap puller and optional textured, red keycaps to replace the usual gaming-centric A, W, S, D, 1, 2, 3, and 4 keys. The important part of course is how this all works. Fortunately, even though there’s the usual small user learning/comfort curve that comes with almost any new keyboard design (and particularly one that’s fairly radical like this one), it works great. Keypresses provide suitable physical and audible feedback, and I’m able to type at full speed without issue. My gaming tests proved just as successful. While compact, there are no sacrifices to key size, and the steel structure provides plenty of weight. If you’re like me and want a no sacrifice, yet compact mechanical keyboard with removable USB cable, then the HyperX Alloy makes a fine choice. In fact, I may not even need that personal holy grail solution. Pluses: – Cherry MX Blue switches – Well-built and compactly designed, with no sacrifices to key sizes – Removable miniUSB cable – Easily transportable, complete with travel pouch – Red backlighting is generally less distracting than other types (and can be disabled) Minuses: – Limited customization options and no dedicated software

    I absolutely have loved this product since the day I received it, unfortunately I went to turn my computer on and everything seemed normal, the keyboard’s backlight was lit up but I could not type. Not a single key on the keyboard works, I have tried various different attempts to solve this issue but I can not. The keyboard currently does not work.

    I absolutely love this keyboard because it is the most boring keyboard ever. There are no edgy gamer designs or extra keys that I will never use. The build quality is absolutely solid with the heavy steel backplate and the solid feet. The underside is made of plastic but it is very solid. Nothing about this keyboard feels hollow and cheap. I have been using this keyboard for a year and a half and feel like it could easily rock on for another ten. There are no macro buttons and all the keycaps are standard size. These are genuine cherry switches which means you are getting one of the best typing experiences. It also means you can toss on any custom keycap set you want, which you may want to do because although the ABS keycaps this keyboard comes with are nice, it does not compare to PBT. One of my favorite features about this keyboard is that there is no lip surrounding the keyboard. The understated design allowed me to customize this keyboard to an aesthetic I liked using vinyl and other weird materials. The only thing I would change is the LED color choice. I just wish they made it white or RGB.
