   Keys have good travel but are light and flimsy; the spacebar is especially wobbly and underwhelming. The overall typing experience for me wasn’t great. I enjoy distinct auditory feedback while typing, but because of how flimsy these keys are, typing on this keyboard produces an indistinct barrage of rattling noises which, to me, isn’t satisfying at all. I feel like the design principle here was “customers like noisy keyboards, let’s make the keyboard as noisy as possible” but it fails to emulate the right kind of functional noise that, to me, would enhance the typing experience.

   See the picture. When arrived keys were out and looks like it was going through roller coaster in transit, but it was easy to fix and instructions were easy to follow. Key removal tool is great and it got fixed in no time. Size is perfect for my small table. Hight adjustment is very good. Keys are soft pressing and noice is not very loud. Alphabet and number are easy to ready and has good contrast. Battery life not tested but hopefully it will be good. Overall I am happy with this purchase

   I bought this keyboard with intentions to mod it after watching allot of people review and mod the keychron k2… highly disappointed to find out the switches are not hot swappable… I would find a different keyboard if you had plans like I did

   It’s really a great mechanical keyboard for the price. It’s a good, comfortable, and works on a Mac. Yes it’s basic, no it doesn’t light up, or let you hotswap it. It just gets the job done and the bluetooth doesn’t cut out.

    I initially reviewed the Keychron K2 before diving into the custom keyboard world. Some of my opinions have changed since learning more about switches and keyboard tuning. Here is my updated review. I bought the Keychron K2 to have a bluetooth mechanical keyboard to use with multiple devices. I opted for clicky blue switches as I had never tried them before. I use this keyboard in my home office where sound level doesn’t matter. Be aware that it is very loud and will probably not be suitable for the workplace, library, or other shared area. My main complaint about this keyboard is Keychron’s blue switches. These blue switches are basically the same as a Gateron blue. They use a sort of spring-loaded plastic jacket that snaps downward on the keypress to generate the click sound. Compared to other options (Gateron Melodic, Kailh Box Glazed Green, etc.), Keychron/Gateron blue switches have a very sloppy sound. The overall sound of this keyboard suffers due to the choice of low-end blue switches. Furthermore, this keyboard is not hot-swappable, so you can’t install nicer switches to solve this problem. My other concern is that the stabilizers need some lubrication and tuning. This might be expected on an entry-level keyboard. The spacebar especially is very harsh. Those criticisms aside, the Keychron K2 has some great features that I truly love. I really like the aluminum frame. It is sturdy and always slightly cold to the touch, which feels more premium than a plastic case. I’m a fan of the colorway too. Overall, it has a clean appearance without any gaudy, gamer-esque design elements. And if the red escape key isn’t your thing, it comes with a gray one that you can swap. The Bluetooth connectivity has worked perfectly so far. I have it paired with three different devices and it switches seamlessly between them by pressing fn+1, 2, or 3. I have it switched to Windows compatibility mode and it works on my PC, iPhone, and Raspberry Pi. Consider that this keyboard is pretty tall. I use it with a wrist rest to get my wrists into a more neutral position. The Keychron K2 offers some nice features along with the popular Keychron brand name. I’m quite sure I would have been happier long-term with red or brown switches in this particular model. A clicky version is still viable, but I would recommend that they spec it with nicer switches, such as a Gateron Melodic. As this spec falls short on the switch front, it feels impossible to recommend at the current price ($80) and still difficult to recommend even if it was 50% off. There are really nice entry-level hot-swappable mechanical keyboards out there for $50-70 that I would recommend before this keyboard to anyone except dedicated Keychron fans.

    The tactile feedback and audible click of the keys are outstanding, and the keyboard’s build quality is impressive. I’ve actually switched from my Razer keyboard to this one because I liked it so much. It’s fantastic that this keyboard is compatible with both Apple and Windows products. However, I do wish it came with a dongle for wireless connectivity.
