I love Keychron keyboards because they’re built like tanks and last forever. I was part of the original K2 Kickstarter back in April of ’19, and that keyboard is still kicking.
For this K2 MAX I picked the brown switches, and they’re nice and responsive, and appropriately clicky-clacky for us mechanical keyboard fiends.
Side note: this board seems just as heavy and tanky as the original, so if someone ever breaks into your office, you can use it as a very effective self-defense weapon.
My only quibble with this order is that I didn’t receive the left Alt/Options keycap; instead I received two left Windows caps.

Keychron is known for making solid quality keyboards and the K2 Max is no exception.
The keyboard looks and sounds good. It only comes in one color, but you can easily swap out the keycaps. The keycaps it comes with have a windows and Mac variant which is nice. The USB c port is on the left side, which is okay unless you have a coiled cable setup. I wish the USB c port was on the top.
It has the expected hot swappable switches and RGB lighting. I ordered the red switches which are linear. The switches are smooth and easy to type on. I wish the wireless dongle had a hidden slot for safe keeping.
This is a great compact, budget board. Great but not perfect.

While I prefer the colorful keycaps over the black/grey ones but, Keychron’s “Keychron K2 Max QMK/VIA 2.4 GHz & Bluetooth Wireless Custom Mechanical Keyboard for Mac/Windows/Linux, 75% Layout Keyboard RGB Backlight Red Switch – Black,” is such a high end quality and functional keyboard that makes it worthwhile to overlook my preference on the color. This is one of the very best quality mechanical keyboard I’ve looked at and tested. It is beautifully designed and pretty well-made. The RGB lights, makes it easier to see when you’re typing at night. The buttons are just the right size, has a tactile feel to it, but not as noisy, and easy to type in. It’s easy to set up and has a long-lasting battery life. There is no lag either. I love how I’m able to use this keyboard with both my desktop and laptop in one switch. It’s just that this is a tad bit small for my taste and is missing a few important keys that makes typing experience easier.
Other than that, this is definitely solid, can be used for both office and PC gaming, and seems made to last a long time with proper care. I highly recommend this to others.

This is my first mechanical keyboard so I have nothing to compare it to. Well I guess I can compare it to the keyboards I used in the 90s. Type feel is a different world compared to todays keyboards. More responsiveness. I live the web configurator. No need to keep track of updates. Quick customizations. Easy peasy. It is a little heavier than expected. I guess that’s on account of the battery.
