   Last update on 4/6/2021: I’ve gotten the newer version of the K2 that is hotswappable, because I wanted to try new switches and I could never get this one to work in Bluetooth mode. This one still works brilliantly in wired mode. I seem to have gotten a unit with some type of Bluetooth flaw that no amount of troubleshooting (firmware, factory resets, etc.) could fix, but for those who are looking to buy this older model of the K2, I want to say that when I tried draining the battery completely and then charging it fully, it took more than two days of me leaving the keyboard on with sleep mode disabled and the RGB light show running at full brightness nonstop. If you use the K2 wirelessly, you can probably expect to get a lot of use out of it before recharging. The typing experience is immeasurably more comfortable than the MacBook’s butterfly keyboard. It feels substantial, it looks as cool as I hoped it would, and I appreciate that it’s Mac-compatible out of the box. Getting the Gateron blue switches was the right choice for me because I’m not typing in a room with anyone else, but for anyone considering them, know that the sound of these blue switches is loud and proud. It sounds deeper but also louder when I use PBT keycaps instead of the ones that came with the board, which are attractive but prone to developing shiny spots from your fingers. Original review: After watching several video reviews and reading reviews online, I thought this was The One. Its combination of looks and build quality, as well as its lower price, convinced me to buy. Unfortunately, I was able to use the keyboard for only a few hours in Bluetooth mode. I turned it off for the night, thinking that was the right thing to do when I wouldn’t be using it for about nine or ten hours. Then I woke up yesterday, turned it on, and have been unable to get my devices to see it ever since. After many hours of trying every recommended solution short of updating the firmware (which I’ll have to do on a PC when I can get to one), I’ve given up on being able to use it in Bluetooth mode. I’ve ordered a converter to connect the cable to my MacBook Pro, but it won’t arrive for at least another day, so I just have a nice-looking light display at the moment. For the few hours of use I got out of it in Bluetooth mode, I really enjoyed the typing experience. The keyboard feels solid and I love the way the keys click. It’s got a pretty bunch of light shows. It was easy to pair with both the MacBook Pro and the iPhone XS Max the first time, but that’s it.

   The keyboard was nice while it was working but no paths or information to recover. The bluetooth connection process doesn’t fire so no real solution for me. There’s little/no support online and no contact paths through go-keyboard.com. Support just auto replies with order tracking information.

   My experience with Keychron started a while ago when I purchased the K1 V3. Love that keyboard with its low profile. I want to take it to work and use it there. I was surprised when I saw a Keychron store on go-keyboard.com. I had been looking at the K2 for a while and decided to pull the trigger. go-keyboard.com had it in stock and I had it the next day. What can I say? Great build quality and am so happy that someone is making a quality mechanical keyboard for Mac users. I got the Aluminum, Gateron Blue model. Surprisingly, the blue switches are not that loud. I had another keyboard with Blue switches and it drove my wife crazy. These are clicky but not overly loud. As I mentioned before – the aluminum model is very sturdy and looks like it’ll last years. Only change I made to it was buying a set of YMDK 9009 DSA keycaps to spice it up a bit. I like the caps better than the stock ones. Overall, I’m very happy with my purchase and would recommend this keyboard to anyone.

   Great starter mechanical keyboard. I didn’t know much about mechanical keyboards but this one offered pretty much everything I could have wanted. Wireless, RGB, premium casing. The keyboard sounds awesome and the switches sound like bliss. The stabilizers aren’t the best but that’s to be expected if you can add a little bit of lube to them and get some o-ring dampeners it feels so much better. Overall very satisfied with this board it really is a great value.

   The build quality is fantastic, the keys are impressively responsive and so pretty to look at. Great lighting modes with a very intuitive programing process. The usability is great after doing the firmware upgrade that allows you to lock the color/lights to a specific mode and set a special color for the cap lock feature. The case is solidly built and has no flex in the plastic. 5 stars except… well, the keys are super tall, with the closest ones an inch and a half above the desk and closer to 2 inches for the back row. After a week of using it as it, my wrist started to get tense and tiered because I tend to rest my wrists on my desk while typing which forces my hand to bend at a very unnatural angle for a prolonged amount of time. I guess this isn’t a problem if you’re a touch typist, but most people aren’t unless you’re a dedicated writer. Finally managed to work around the issue by getting 3/4th in high wrist pad.

   $100 is a lot to spend on a keyboard. This is the best keyboard you can buy for the money though. It’s compact yet spacious, it has an amazing feel to it, and the build quality is superb. I haven’t used a mechanical keyboard in a long time, but this is one of the best I’ve used. The keys are clicky (I’m a big fan of hearing the click) and it types wonderfully. The backlighting feature is great, with multiple settings for color and brightness, and has different mode for different OS (Windows/And and Mac/iOS).

   I have the aluminim version, and it is built amazingly. It’s hefty and durable. The only somewhat negative thing about this keyboard is its height. It’s a bit tall, but once you get used to it, it’s fine. You can also buy a small wrist rest if you so desire. For gaming, it’s okay, not great. Since the keyboard is compact, it results in a few keys being smaller, including the cntrl/opt/cmd keys on the left.

   Besides those two things, this keyboard is phenomenal. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a good typing keyboard.
