   Been using the keyboard for 5 months. I love it. I had to return another keyboard because their keys would not function. I love the feel of this keyboard and lately, I feel like my movement has been approved due to the switches. I also like how clean and smooth the key feels. They also throw in a couple of additional orange key caps. Keyboard also has a bluetooth feature, however, if you’re a wired person like me, I suggest buying a long usb c wire, since this came with a really short wire. This keyboard only has a white backlight feature with different types of styles as well, does not offer RGB.

   I’m a former keychron K2 user. I wanted to have a compact size and red switch, and I dont think I needed an aluminum frame as I previously had, I thought K6 should be the best. I tested k8 but it was kinda disappointed. I dont know the exact reason but the size was not what I wanted. The current k6 looks so nice and I like the typing sounds from k6 red switch more than brown switch. I just replaced the original keycaps with KAT and and other OSA profiles. I think the white backlight version is very cool. Hope the price could be $10 lower than it is :p. Go for it Keychron! Updated on Feb 21 2023 I currently have K2 brown switch and K6 red switch (both the aluminum version and the white back-light version). The K6 aluminum version is my favorite. I modded switch and the keyboard sounds great! So far so good. I purchased K6 about 1 year and half ago and still works great. It is really a premium keyboard for me compared to other keyboards that I have.

   If you want a cheaper mechanical keyboard with functionality, this is excellent. It’s easy to mod with upgrades you want better detailing like key feel, etc. But the core parts, like the huge battery, hot swappable switches, and Mac compatible layout, are all there. Use this mainly for long writing sessions and love it! PROS: – The battery is BIG, lasts me a few weeks per charge (way better than the Anne Pro). – Bluetooth works smoothly (connects to my Mac in maybe 1 second flat after being idle). – Mac compatibility and has Mac keycaps on the board by default. – Very nice white backlighting (I’m not an RGB fan at all). The keycaps have sharp, clean backlight shine through. – The side USB C input does NOT bother me like it does others. I prefer it because with my laptop, I like all the cabling off the the side. – Hot swappable switches CONS: – ABS keycaps feel a bit dinky and scuff easily. (although this is easily upgradable). – The light setting button is easy to hit by accident. I now lock my light settings, so it doesn’t matter. – The blue Gateron switches are wobbly. – Some of the switches are really hard to pull out of the board. – The switch plate is not anything special – not sure it’s custom programmable, but then again I haven’t needed to MODS: As is, this is great bang for your buck. But if you’re interested in modding the board, this is what I’m doing to make it really really great. -Added o rings on the keycaps for less key travel and keycap sounds. -filled the case with thin silicone strips and felt. The keyboard is now virtually silent. I normally like some thunk, but since this is a cheaper plastic case, the silence is really nice. It also added some heft to feel more substantial. – Got thicker PBT keycaps to replace the ABS ones (OEM profile). I only replaced the letter keycaps because Keychron’s number row has the Mac icons printed on (for brightness, vol, etc), which are hard to find elsewhere. I emailed Keychron and they said they plan to make a PBT option as well, but didn’t know when. (Photos show original keycaps except for the blue arrow keys I put on) -Switches. This is a hot swappable board, so I’ll be putting in Kailh Box Jades for a deeper click and less wobble. Overall, this is a nice budget board that has some really unique specs, like the big battery and Mac friendliness. For those alone, this is worth considering, and then modding if needed. The stuff it lacks on, like key feel, are easy to change.

   Feels like a high quality board; feels very sturdy, caps looks very nice, backlight is easily adjustable. Connecting to three devices via Bluetooth is great for WFH. It is a very tall keeb, but I have always used a wrist rest so I havent had any wrist issues. A few gripes though. The keycaps look nice, but don’t feel very good to type on. They are super smooth, and feel very strange to type on. I attribute that to the thin ABS plastic. Looking into getting a set of thick ABS or just PBT caps in the future. Another issue is that one of the Windows caps came with a chip in it. A dedicated backlight key is pretty lame too. Would have preferred a Del key in its place. Haven’t tried removing switches, will update my review if I ever decide to. The Gateron Browns feel good coming from Outemu browns though. May replace with Kailh Box Burnt Orange’s later on.

   First, the good: I love the thin bezel, the fact that it’s hot swap so it’s easy to change the switches, and the way it switches quickly between 3 BT connections. Now, the bad: mine came with 4 keys that didn’t work. I pulled the switches out and found that each one had a bent pin. This is ironic because the keyboard comes with an insert that says to be careful when you push switches in. I had to straighten the pins and out them back in. Afterward, it works fine! I’m planning to change the switches out anyway so it’s not a big deal to me, but some people might not be as comfortable fixing the pins. They certainly didn’t pay to receive a defective product.
