- The K8 Pro is the first QMK/VIA enabled wireless mechanical keyboard paving the way for a new era for mechanical keyboards. The K8 Pro RGB Backlight version has been re-engineered from the inside out. Together with our signature hot-swappable features and upgraded typing sound, the K8 Pro is advancing the typing experience to an entirely new level with endless possibilities.
- With QMK and VIA Support: Keychron K8 Pro allows anyone to remap any key, and create macro commands, shortcuts, or combination keys through VIA. Simply connect the K8 Pro to your device with a cable, drag and drop your favorite keys or macro commands to remap any key you want on any system (macOS, Windows, or Linux). Note: User can remap a key on wired mode only. Once it’s done, the keymap will work on both wireless and wired modes.
- Supports Wireless and Wired Mode: You can connect the K8 Pro with up to 3 devices wirelessly via its stable Broadcom Bluetooth 5.1 for seamless multitasking across your laptop, phone, and tablet. Switch among them swiftly, and it’s fully compatible with both Mac and Windows. The K8 Pro can last up to 100 hours (at lowest brightness) with a 4000 mAh big battery, which is one of the biggest in mechanical keyboards. It also has wired mode with USB Type-C connection.
- Hot-swappable Support: With the pre-lubed mechanical tactile brown switch providing unrivaled tactile responsiveness with up to 50 million keystroke lifespan. You can also hot-swap the K8 Pro with almost all of the 3pin and 5pin MX mechanical switches on the market (including Cherry, Gateron, Kailh, Panda, etc.) without soldering required. The PCB-mounted screw-in stabilizer for “big keys” such as space bar, shift, enter, and delete are designed for less wobbliness and smooth performance.
- Upgraded Typing Experience: The K8 Pro has been re-engineered and redesigned from the inside out to upgrade the typing experience. The added sound-absorbing foam, a thick silicone dampening bottom pad, and steel plate provide responsive feedback and a peaceful typing sound. The south-facing RGB backlight is designed to better illuminate the keyboard backlight from the typist’s angle and it comes with double-shot PBT keycaps that aim to provide a more comfortable fingertip feel and excellent oil resistance.

Only reason it’s not 5 stars is because a few key caps were loose. I thought they weren’t pressed in but they were just loose in the switches. Other than that it sounds good, feels good and even responds very well when gaming. My wife tried it and stole it from me so I bought a second one with the aluminum frame. They both feel great.

The metal part is just a trim that goes around the edges, not the entire frame. I knew this before buying it and still opted for it, but be aware.
You can get it without the metal and without RGBs for much cheaper as well, making it an even better deal for essentially the same keyboard.

The subtle click sound is the best for typing…you can also use it for gaming 🙂

2 keycap stems broke in under 6 months of use. Poor quality

I’m a keyboard lover and bought over 10 keyboards from different brands, this is by far the best pre-build mechanical keyboard I had. Worth every penny!

I enjoy mechanical keyboards, but not enough to become a snob or spend several hundreds of dollars on one. This one checked all my bars, hotswappable, programmable, and can be wireless. The only thing I don’t like is that its Bluetooth as opposed to 2.4 but VIA is open source and 2.4 isn’t really (I believe) Overall for a budget mechanical keyboard this a great introduction to the hobby or the only keyboard you will need. It is a heavy board, so I wouldn’t plan on taking it on the go.

This keyboard feels absolutely amazing, I got the one with the brown switches and the sound is so “thocky”, sounds way better than its price. It also feels very smooth, you can tell the switches and stabilizers are well lubed from the factory. The double shot pbt caps feel very sturdy and complement the sounds very well.

This KB is great if you don’t use em alot.
Had it a just over a year, and Im tired of it. It’s flashy junk.
Randomly turns off and on, one touch of a key and you got 3000 J’s across the screen.
The LED’s fully quit working 3-4 months ago.
Honestly I’m gonna replace this with something more reliable and without the BS. I’ve never once been able to get the QMK/VIA stuff to work correctly. Avoid these unless you want to replace it in a year.

Honestly I do not recommend my left shift key is broken just from regular use. now know this once this happens you can’t order replacement keys there’s no where on their site that allows your to order speicific keys. my only potential option is to order a complete key set which is crazy
