This is my first “gaming” mouse and the it works how it supposed to. Right out of the box you just need to plug the USB cable to your PC and you are good to go. Now if you want to tweak some configurations to make it your custom pick then you’ll need to install their LogitechG software for customization. The mouse size feel a little small in my hands, guess it’s because I’m used to the Logitech MX Master for my daily driver and my hands are somewhat slightly bigger than average, but it is still comfortable to use either PALM, CLAW or TIP Grip. This mouse provides 6 buttons and up to 6,000 dpi sensor. One thing I noticed that the dpi changes button is very sinsible and too close to the scroll wheel cause me to accidentally change dpi during gaming. So I had to disable or unassign this button for now. The left and right mouse tension feels just right providing the click sound feedback, without requiring too much force to click. The Logitech G203 scroll wheel feels like the the MX Master’s, but it doesn’t have the quick scroll which you could flick to fly through content, but I guess you won’t use that in gaming anyways. Due to its shape it can easily be an ambidextrous mouse thanks to the Classic Design. Now this is the era of RGB and the good thing about his gaming mouse is that its lighting is just subtle enough to enjoy the looks of the peripheral, but its not too cheezy. Plus you can change the lighting effect, color or turn it off. Overall this is a fantastic gaming mouse for a good “budget” price below $30.00 coming from a good quality company. I will strongly suggest to get this mouse if you don’t have a gaming mouse. I’m not going to get technical at all, just a general mouse user here. But I am impressed with this little guy! Downgraded (in a way) from a super tactical looking $60 corsair gaming mouse with like 13 buttons on it to this guy, and I have to say, simpler is way better. I love the simplicity and refinement of the Logitech G Hub RGB software, I like this mouse’s form factor and ergos for my massive hands (3xl Glove Size). You can disable/enable any of the buttons and reset them to different functions. Just great. My only complaint would be that the mouse is very, very lightweight, and is a bit loud on the click. If it had a bit more heft to it, and was a little quieter it’d be the perfect mouse for me. But, 9/10 is still fantastic, especially for the price!

I just wanted a robust, wired mouse to use with a Macbook Pro. Not purchased for gaming. TL;DR: – There is no clear documentation available on how to configure this mouse using its buttons or Logitech software – The packaging was damaged and the serial number on the mouse doesn’t match the box Out of the box, the track speed was very slow and I couldn’t move the pointer from one side of the screen to the other in a single motion. It seemed like it should be a simple matter of adjusting the track speed on my Macbook – this was not the case. Even with the mouse tracking speed at max, a single motion was only enough to move the pointer about half way across the screen. The packaging refers to hardware and software configurable settings. There were no instructions in the box, so I went to Logitech’s website to locate instructions online. The only available documentation on the website is a Setup Guide, which I’ve attached as a photo on this review. It is literally a single page document telling you to plug the mouse in to a USB port. There’s a URL in the setup guide that one might assume would lead to further details, for example, documentation on how to cycle between the DPI presets. That URL takes you back to where you first find the Setup Guide, trapping you in a cycle of anger and disappointment. Frustrated that I was not able to take advantage of the hardware options for changing the DPI stated on the packaging, I resigned myself to the fact that I would need to install the Logitech Gaming Software to get anywhere near the settings for this device. I was reluctant to do so because despite the reference to this software on the packaging, the G203 is not included in the list of supported devices for the Mac version of LGS (it is included for the Windows version). After a 500MB install in the hope that I’d finally be able to change the DPI, the software would only detect a different model mouse (G-102) and would not let me change any settings. Out of options, I resorted to guessing. I pressed each of the 3 buttons on the mouse in the hope that one might cycle between DPI presets. Turns out it’s the button behind the scroll wheel. This was the only setting I needed to change to make the mouse useable and it took over an hour of hunting around on the Logitech website and installing/uninstalling their software to get this sorted out. A more informative getting started guide could have avoided this awful experience. Now that I’ve figured this out, the mouse works fine and feels good to use, but there is a lingering disappointment with Logitech’s support and documentation that will not allow me to give this product a higher overall rating. Good luck to anybody who needs to make more extensive configuration changes than I did. Additionally, the packaging was damaged and the serial number on the mouse does not match the serial number on the box.

December 2020 Update: Mouse still works just the same as the first day, although I have now moved on to the wireless version of this mouse, the G305. This one works like a charm as well! If you’re in the market for an entry-level gaming mouse, look no further, this is the mouse for you. Trust me. Whether for you or someone else you can’t go wrong with this mouse. I decided to create a huge review guide for people like me who just absolutely need to see detailed reviews before they pull the trigger on the product. Below is a pros and cons list and below that is a detailed paragraph about this mouse if you’re a reader 🙂 Pros – RGB Lighting (And not some solid color BS, like 12.8 million colors breathing effects type of stuff) – Depressed Area Left and Right click, helps keep your grip on the mouse (picture for example) – Smooth design and texture great for claw holders – 8000 dpi sensor with ability to change in increments of 50 (7950, etc.) – DPI Button with up to 4 on-the-fly dpi changes (also can be programmed to a key) – 2 custom buttons both on the inside of the mouse (more on that below) Meh (Opinion) – No Braided Cable (they fray) Cons – Worst scroll wheel I have ever seen in my life* (UPDATE: Scroll wheel is actually VERY good for games if you use it to switch weapons/items if because the notches are there to stop you from saying, switching 1 too much, otherwise, the scroll wheel is pretty meh because it just FEELS clunky) – Cable is a tad bit short The G203 Prodigy is hands down the best gaming mouse at this price point. The RGB lighting alone makes this mouse worth it considering the price point because a lot of good quality mice out there comprise the RGB lighting for functionality. Logitech did not compromise on this AT ALL boasting a full 16.8 million colors with color effects such as breathing and fading into other colors, much more than the old bs “RGB mice” that just have 1 solid color with an on and off switch (*cough Steelseries cough*). All you have to do is download the software from the website by searching “G203 Prodigy Software” and you’re good. Moving on, the dips in the mouse on the left and right clicks are amazing. It helps you keep your fingers gripped on the mouse when you click and move it around. After I used this mouse because my old gaming mouse without that feature shorted out, I just couldn’t go back. Must have on any gaming mice IMO, even if you don’t get this one. Additionally this mouse has a pretty smooth design and decent texture for your hands, I’ve had some that have felt better but not bad. The 8000 DPI sensor is also extremely good at this price point, it’s very accurate, and can be adjusted in increments of 50 (I know this sounds stupid but some mice don’t even have this precision, the Steelseries Kana v2 I had before only adjusted in increments of 400 which is absolutely terrible btw, don’t buy that mouse) which is huge. There’s also a DPI button and 2 custom mappable buttons which is pretty standard. This mouse has a rubber cable which I like but some people like braided ones (they look nice but are meh). Every mouse isn’t perfect though but this one comes pretty close. The only big problem with this mouse is the GOD AWFUL scroll wheel* (Update on this above, this depends on the genre of games you are playing) If you use the scroll wheel regularly, this is a HUGE drawback. Scrolling is somewhat clunky and the texture feels very uncomfortable so if you are a person using their scroll wheel every 5 minutes, I would have to tell you this may not be the mouse for you. Luckily I don’t use the scroll wheel that much. Lastly is the cable is a tad short but will be fine for 99% of you as long as you’re by your computer at a reasonable distance. I hope this helps you guys make a great choice on the mouse to get, I would highly recommend you to grab this mouse if you haven’t already. See you on the battlefield!

My hand size is (17x10cm) (In the picture above, I compared my G203’s and my G Pro Wireless) For starters, I’ve owned the original black one for some time but I wanted the better looking white one. The G203 is an RGB ambidextrous small sized mouse with omron switches, two buttons on the left side and uses Logitech’s Mercury sensor. The white G203 weighs at 88 grams with the black version at 85 grams. The weight difference isn’t really noticeable and it’s due to the white coating. Build quality is great, mouse clicks are light and crisp, scroll wheel is light with some feedback. Side buttons are tactile and short. I don’t really use the DPI button but it has never been in the way but there is a springing noise and feel after clicking it on both of my copy. RGB is bright and nice looking despite only having one light zone. The grip fits comfortably for claw and fingertip grip use, I can palm it but I wouldn’t really recommend it. In comparison to the G Pro and it’s later variants, the G203’s cable is made of rubber andthe G Pro, the cables are braided. This is probably the biggest difference between these mice and it’s because the rubber cable is light which produces less cable drag than the heavier braided ones. Logitech’s Mercury sensor is considered “flawless” and other iteration of the G Pro mice still keeps this standard. The differences between all of them is negligible at best. At an amazing value and great performance in this small package, the G203 is the budget mice king.

Bought this for gaming on my PC. The RGB lights are really cool however I can already tell I may have made a mistake in my purchase. The thumb buttons which I mainly use for Fortnite are VERY Mushy when trying to use both. The scroll wheel is also more accurate not free scrolling. If you use it to switch weapons it would be one of the best however I don’t recommend it. The mouse is the same on both sides not a extremely comfortable right hand feel. I would buy this mouse for mainly work or non thumb button games.

Logitech G Hub supports G203 on macOS Catalina 10.15.2. My primary purpose of getting this mouse is not for gaming. I just got tired of bluetooth mouse issues in addition to replacing batteries. I personally only use keyboard shortcuts but one can bind shortcuts to mouse buttons with G Hub. One great feature is “tracking speed” control. It can be defined to match one’s preferences. Gaming equipments are great for productivity.

I bought this mouse on Black Friday to replace an old Razer mouse where the light couldn’t be turned off. Plus this mouse had three extra buttons. To get to why I really like this mouse is its modularity when you take it apart. Be aware that taking apart your mouse will void the warranty so do so at your own risk. Since I bought this for $19.99 I figured it was worth the risk for what I wanted to do. My main issue with this mouse was the texture of the scroll wheel. It was a bit much compared to my old mouse. So, I decided to open it up and see if I could replace it with a scroll wheel from an old Logitech wireless mouse. Unfortunately, the parts weren’t interchangeable so I had to do something else. I ended up taking it out and sanding it down to my liking. It took a little while but it was worth it for me. To get into the mouse all you have to do is unscrew three screws and you’re in. Inside there are two things that you can modify: the mouse wheel and the cord. If you don’t like the cord and that it does not have a braided sleeve like its more expensive cousin (G403 pro), you can take the old one out and replace it with a braided sleeve, but it is not directly compatible so you would have to do some soldering. You can purchase this cable directly from Logitech for $10. If you’re tech savvy and want a fun little project, modifying this mouse could be for you. Overall this is a quality mouse for the price in my opinion. It is simple and it doesn’t have the gamer aesthetic and built in a way that leaves the door open for some little mods. But just like with keyboards and key switches, everyone has their own preferences so I’d suggest going to a store and testing out the options before making a purchase. The thing feels good to use. No catching or stuttering. Decent weight makes it feel sturdy. No hardware issues after three months owning it. I have had very good experiences with Logitech in the past, and am rarely disappointed with their products (their lower end mice for general users leave something to be desired if you’re in the market for those). So the G203 is a great mouse. Yes it’s comparable to the GPro, I see no difference besides marketing and “Pro” versions. The RGB is easy to use just make sure to install the correct software for it and you can customize the colors. However I’ve noticed when changing the DPI in game sometimes the pop up will freeze in place or the DPI will change slowly. I’m not sure if it’s just my model but it doesn’t bother me too much. I wouldn’t recommend this mouse if you play MMO, RPG, or even fortnite. I recommend you get the G502 since it has more buttons and for me button mapping on the mouse is important when it comes to those games. However for casual gaming this is okay. Don’t waste money on the pro, just get the G203. The mouse itself has small indentations on the left and right click buttons, 2 buttons on the left, a scroll wheel, and a DPI change button in the middle. The mouse suits more claw users, but it can suit palm users as well. My only gripe is this mouse is good for small hands, I have small hands but I find my pinky dragging on the mouse pad a lot. For reference my hand is 4 3/4 wise and 6’ in length.
