1. General Claymore Verified Buyer – 20 June 2024

   I been using the Logitech G410 for a couple of days now getting used to the type of switches on it, which I find so far to be a better experience over my last keyboard which was a generic mechanical keyboard. Right off the back the typing is much more easier to me then the blue switches I was used to on my prior keyboard, besides the noise being quieter. Didn’t take me that long to get used to the keys. The RGB effects are very neat and a lot better then my old keyboard, but I kind of wish they was more refined and not limited to just the numbers and lettering, you could make better patterns and profiles if the whole key lighted up. The WASD and arrow keys have a special design to there caps, but I find that useless, it would had made more sense giving them a special texture or not giving them that graphic at all since it really an eye sore and look tacky. The key caps feel really good on my fingers, but I have not tried to removed them so I don’t know if you can swap them for others or not. The key caps at-least for me can get dirty smear easy but you can clean that off with ease. I liking the RGB profiles that comes with the Logitech software, making them your self seems a little confusing. Lucky I found a 3rd party program that makes it easier to do it while giving you a bit more options. As it stands Logitech doesn’t have an RGB profile sharing site which makes finding custom profiles hard to the point that you will do what I mention and use a universal program for your RGB profile needs. The arx dock that comes with it is very useful, the only thing that’s bad about it is phones smaller then 7inch will not sit right in it and will tilt on the sides, if you try to use it with it in the dock. Having something that slides into the phone keeping it in place would make using the doc a better experience. I can’t count how many times I knock my phone out the dock only to have to put it back in it. Phones with thin borders on the side will be almost unusable if you flip the phone over on its sides, phones with a thicker border, wont have a problem with being on it sides. G410 a nice size and fits on my keyboard tray which leaves room for a mouse, it doesn’t slide around for it size which is a good thing, as you don’t want your keyboard to be sliding around during use, the handle on the side makes it easier to pick up and carry it around, if you are one of those types that goes to lan’s. The only thing about the keyboard that would be better is the lighting being more of it and not just the letters and an easier time to get custom profiles without having to use a 3rd party program to do it, which are the things I feel Logitech could improve on. The combo keys that have the volume control’s are useless since you can’t see which does what without shining a light on it or looking really close, they should also be lighted so you can change the volume without taking your eyes off the game to do so. I am having problems getting used to the different switches, but that kind of expected after using another kind of switch prior. But I expect to get used to it over the next few weeks. But I am doing much better in games then I ever did before. I play a lot of warframe so I was able to pull off moves and action at a better rate.

   Best keyboard out there. Barely have to touch the key before it hits actuation. Second logitech gaming keyboard. First one broke due to unbridled rage. Would buy a 3rd time and 4th time. No other key compares to the Romer G keys.

   The Logitech G410 is an incredibly expensive keyboard that doesn’t bring enough to the table to justify its price. Build Quality – The keyboard is entirely plastic and does not feel solid. Weight-wise, it does feel a bit heavy for a tenkeyless, but not nearly as heavy as any of my mechanicals. Lets get the elephant out of the room – this wristrest. I have no idea what Logitech was thinking here. It’s an ergonomics nightmare. The left hand lip makes it so your left wrist is raised, while the lack of the wrist rest on the right makes your right hand hang lower. You can’t really add a wrist rest to solve the problem since the one that’s there gets in the way. The keyboard sits pretty high too, so if you’re resting your arms on your desk while typing on the kebyoard, it doesn’t feel comfortable at all. If you’re willing to raise your arms and hands completely off the desk and keep them up like that the entire time, then you won’t mind the shape of the wristrest. Otherwise, I’d really like to take a saw to this thing and chop it off. Even more aggravating about it is the fact that it serves no purpose other than aesthetics. There’s no hidden macro button, or volume knob. There is some sort of odd hole placement – I guess you can tie up your keys here or something. Maybe attach a lanyard. The keys are transparent and then painted with a matte black finish. The legends are left blank and then covered by a silver paint. Therefore even with the backlight turned off, you can read your keys. The RGB lighting is a very nice touch, but they are not programmable without installing the custom Logitech software. The keys take approximately 40 grams of force for actuation. These are linear keys with a very slight tactile bump, so the closest Cherry switch I could compare them to are the Cherry MX Browns. With the actuation point pushed up, these do feel a slight bit stiffer than the browns I usually use, so I would say I prefer them to the Cherry’s browns, but the browns are probably my most hated key switch anyhow. Conclusion – I think this keyboard is overpriced, simply put. I believe that the current price of $130 at the time of this review is probably double what I’d consider paying for this board, and even at a $65 price point, I’d probably look for something else. The ARX is gimmicky and I can’t see myself using it. If you owned one of the older Logitech keyboards like the G510 or the G19 and you used that little LED/LCD panel a lot, then you’ll like ARX. For everyone else who forgot to even see if their latest game had a keyboard profile, that’s probably the same way ARX will be for you. I think if this board came with macro keys or media keys or something of that nature, it might be able to set itself apart from Cherry boards and you could point to this one and say “See? Macro keys!” If you just have to have RGB keys, and you want it RIGHT NOW, for slightly more, the Corsair Gaming K70 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, Aircraft-Grade Aluminum (CH-9000118-NA) is a far superior board. If you can wait, Corsair’s monopoly of the Cherry RGB keys ended, so there should be a lot more flooding the market soon. I’d wait for one of those.

   Amazing product. I choose this tenkeyless model because it’s way smaller than a traditional keyboard and, sincerely, I rarely use the number pad. The clicking is very satisfying and it seems durable. The lights are perfect and very cool to play with.

   Regarding some reviews saying that it doesn’t look premium, I disagree. It is plastic, but it’s very well built. Nothing to complain on my opinion.

   Now I have a G600 (mouse), G933 (headset) and G410 (keyboard). Very happy and satisfied with logitech products.

   I love this keyboard, the keys are very responsive, the colors are amazing and I don’t even miss the 10-key since I don’t really use them at home. The amount of options you can chose from all the lighting effects is quite amazing. If you want to set a row to red, and the other to blue or green or whatever your heart desires you can do so. Logitech did a great job on this! What really does it for me is this thing is not as loud as you would think when you think of mechanical switches. I know this is Logitech’s own switch, but it is a well designed switch. If you have a chance to find one on display so you can hit a couple of keys, I would recommend doing that because it wasn’t until I was able to get my hands on it at a local store that I was sold on it. That was even before I saw it light up.

   Good looking box. Is not compatible with Mac software yet which is inexcusable since the other keyboards are. Left Wrist rest guard is not that comfortable. Puts your wrist at an upward angle on the left. On the right side, no rest guard -_- The keyboard is unnecessarily tall on both sides, specially on the right side which is lacking any sort of wrist rest (see photos) The keys have a quite noticeable spring noise to them, which was really surprising keyboard at this price range. I have average hand size but if you had tentacle fingers this might be a good keyboard for you. I felt I purchased a $15 keyboard, with a $120 led system.

   Summary: Nice gaming keyboard. Colors are cool. Keys are good but noisy/clackey, and only for those who prefer long-throw mechanical keys. Mobile phone support is nice. Overall, it hits its target market well. Aesthetics See the picture. Completely different target markets; Apple’s new keyboard is for people who worry about the feng shui in their office, this Logitech keyboard is for people who barbecue with a blowtorch. I’m not saying one’s right or wrong, but know who you’re buying the keyboard for, and adjust accordingly! Key Feel This keyboard has a very mechanical feel. The keys are long-throw, and once you adjust, your may find yourself typing faster. Gamers and hackers often appreciate nice mechanical keys. Many (most?) others have gotten used to the short-throw keys common on laptops and in the Apple universe. I’ve found that I can adapt to either keyboard type. Bottom line: the keys are high quality, I like typing on them, but it’s very much a matter of taste and what you’re used to. OK, a sentence or two about me so you can calibrate my opinion. I’ve been typing on keyboards since 1968, starting with a Remington manual, followed by keypunches (1969), teletypes (1971), CRTs (1972), etc., etc. I’ve been a systems programmer for a lot of my career, and I type a lot. All day, every day! So, bottom line, I know my keyboards. A final “note:” The *sound* of this keyboard is loud, cheap and in a shared office setting, obnoxious. Sorry to be blunt. If there are spaceships crashing all around you, not a problem. If your boss/co-worker/significant-other is close, you will get yelled at. Colors The marketing material screams 16.8 million colors, implying it must be oodles better than a keyboard that only has 16.7 million colors. Suffice to say, you have a wide variety of colors to choose from. When the keyboard powers on, it shows off its colorfulness by giving a rainbow light show. Fun. More fun: going into the options for assigning colors to keys. You can do this by app, and the depth and breadth of ways you can change the colors (and even have animations) is very extensive. Software Options In case you want to know which keys you type most often, the driver will offer you a heatmap. The feng shui types will react to this by saying “why would you ever possibly want to know this?”; the blowtorch types are saying “cool!” Again, I’m not here to judge. The heatmap is dynamic. As you type, it starts lighting up the keys you type, changing colors as they become more frequently pressed. Again “cool” or “huh?!,” you decide! Regardless, you will have to spend a bit of time exploring the option screens to figure out what you want. I found it easy to navigate through the app, but the depth and breadth of options might be intimidating for some. Mobile Support This thing is friendly to your phone. There’s a little slide-out tray that you place on your desk. It’s sturdy, but there’s no support for charging cables; if your phone charger plugs into the bottom of your phone, you’ll either need to run on battery, or flip the phone upside down (cable now coming off the top), and hope your display adjusts accordingly (mine does). The Arx Control app (Android or iOS) can be used to bring up context-sensitive controls on your phone. For example, if you’re a media type, you’ll have mute buttons, play/pause/rew/ff, etc., on your phone — and it will control the functions on your computer. Nice trick. Installation OK, so the logitech.com website is a bit confusing. When, as suggested, you go to http://www.logitech.com/support/g410, it only offers a link to download the user guide. To actually download the “gaming software,” click on the Downloads tab. I tried this out on my old win7 notebook; at least for Win7, you need to be careful about selecting the 32 or 64 bit version of the gaming control app… so be aware! The download is 93MB, which does seem a bit bloated for a simple keyboard utility! Double-click the app, and then be patient. It takes a while for the app to come up. Your experience may vary, of course, but patience was required in my case. And, of course, the installation process requires a reboot. Finally, just to complete the torture, they keyboard wanted a firmware update. Annoying, but par for the course in Windows World. The ARX Control app is easily installed from the App Store. When it starts up, it searches for an instance of the gaming software and then lets you control the keyboard from your phone. (Your phone and computer need to be on the same network, e.g. the same wifi access point.) It takes a bit of fiddling to figure out how to actually get the app to do anything, but it works. Full disclosure: I work for a large conglomerate; a sister company makes PCs. I don’t have anything to do with those folks, and tried to write my review in a way that would be helpful to prospective purchasers.

    I had two of these and both of them ended up doing the same thing as you can see in the picture. The keycaps came loose and made it so that when you pressed down on the key that was broken you would often have to mash on the key or hold the key down to get a response. But more often that not the key would get stuck or just not relay input. So Logitech tried to send me some replacement keys and quickly realized I need some kind of specialized tool to get under the keycaps without breaking the romer-g switches. Because that was kind of insane to pull off and would void my warranty if I did literally anything wrong, Logitech instead sent me a G Pro keyboard as a replacement and called it a day. I haven’t had an issue since.

    For gaming on pc one needs most importantly is a good mouse, and those are made by Logitech. if you got Logitech mouse and on budget this is a must keyboard. single software from Logitech supports all there products so it keeps ur system clean from junk and slowing down. I love the RGB lightning and the build quality is very good.
    I highly recommend to buy this over others in this price range.
