   Upgrading a G15 logitech keyboard to this and what a night and day difference. Clicking is not too loud or firm, perfect for my usage. Some folks say logitech keyboards are lacking but this is not your average office keyboard. The aluminum is brushed and cold to the touch, very nice.

   This product has endured years of MMO gaming and still stands to this day. I love this thing and I love the audible keys. Since I originally got it, the app has changed with Logitech, but there are more features for customization with the lighting, which is cool. I like that it has a bonus USB that I utilize for charging my phone during gaming.

   I have used a lot of Logitech, Razer, Corsair, and other brands but really like the feel and keys on the Logitech G512 Carbon lightsync with GX brown switches. The keys have a nice tactile feel but are not too loud.

   The material quality is great. The keys are nice. I wish that they had a more higher quality click. Sometimes the keys are a little bit chunky. The macros work great. The music buttons are very useful. The scroll wheel is coinvent to have. I really like how you can adjust the back stands so that the keyboard is at a slight angle. Overall, looks sick and functions great! Would recommend to friends.

   I first experienced this at Staples. I decided to look it up. I found multiple listing of the same G512 designation and noticed that there are different variations (blue/red/brown), plus some other fancy names (special edition/light sync, etc), so I look for the lowest-price listing. It was $59.nn from the biggest ‘big box’ store in the US. I thought it might be a ‘renewed’ or ‘openbox’ item at this price, but to my surprise, it is brand new. Other reviewers have covered other aspects and the manufacturer pictures have shown us how colorful and glorious it is (not a good feature to me; I’d rather have a low-glow white light instead), so I am going to share my 5-minute observation: • At first glance, it seems to require TWO USB-a ports, so this may not be a good idea for notebook computers, unless you have a powered USB hub. However, if you look again, one is for the keyboard and the other one is provided for our convenience—it connects so you can use the USB port on the back of the keyboard. • The characters on the keycaps are not easy to read, because it’s just translucent plastic for the light to come through. It makes no difference to me, because I don’t look at the keyboard. • keycap’s top surface is smaller (narrower) than other keyboards, which allows more space/gaps between keys. This may be a plus or minus. • The illumination style and brightness are controlled by holding the ‘FN’ key (located on the right of the right-ALT key and F5/F7 key. • The USB port located behind the logo is a plus. It gives back the extra USB port the keyboard has taken from the computer.
