   I got this mouse to help with Final Fantasy XIV. This is one of those MMOs that has a fully customizable UI. This is important because this mouse does not have ‘extra’ keys on it, it has keys that can be programmed to existing keys on your keyboard. In other words, you can program the keys on the mouse to those keys on your keyboard that are not used [6 on the left side to hit with your thumb and 3 on the scroll wheel (left, right and push)]. The scroll wheel left and right are easier to use than any other mouse I’ve had with this ability. So I programmed the left scroll to the Ctrl key so that I have quick access to the 2nd toolbar in game since it is easier to use than trying to stretch to the Ctrl key while hitting a number. Now to clarify, there are two buttons on top to the left of the scroll wheel. These are to quickly change the speed of the mouse and are not programmable. The button between the connectivity button and the scroll wheel is a toggle to free wheel the scroll wheel.

   I was looking back through my go-keyboard.com purchase history. In 17 years, I’ve purchased 6 mice, all Logitech. I’ve always loved my mice to death. Even though I no longer play MMOs, I still buy gaming mice, maybe out of habit. If I ever start playing again, I’m ready! Anyway, this is replacing a G602 that lasted for 4.5 years almost exactly. The mouse wheel suddenly went pffft a couple of weeks ago. It still works, but it’s loose and “slidy” now. That mouse is now relegated to my laptop. This 604 is almost the same exact design, except it’s more lightweight, the side buttons are easier to press because the shape has been redesigned, and the mouse wheel noticeably clicks whereas the 602’s was smooth. I admit I prefer the smooth scrolling. The clicky feel will take a bit getting used to. This mouse also only takes one AA battery and, when using the USB dongle, it’s supposed to last up to 240 hours. It can also connect via Bluetooth, which will apparently extend battery life to over 5 months. At least that’s the spiel from the Logitech website. If it’s true, that’s pretty incredible. And also important, the mouse is aesthetically pleasing and feels nice in my hand. One feature that’s cool (that I probably won’t use) is the lightspeed button. Because this mouse can connect via USB dongle and Bluetooth, you can have this mouse connected to two devices at once. So you could have the dongle on your PC, hit the lightspeed button to switch to Bluetooth, and start seamlessly using it on your laptop. That’s pretty cool. Note: I had trouble installing the mouse software on two different computers. I’d click the executable and the installer just wouldn’t launch. It’s apparently finicky. If you have that problem, try restarting your computer and hitting the executable first thing. That fixed the issue for me on both computers.

   I am a nerd and an IT person. I use my mouse a lot. I have pretty much only used Logitech mice and they have all served me very well. 15 years ago they made the “Media Play” mouse which had about 7 buttons which controlled music and videos inside the mouse. Most of the buttons were customizable. I loved that mouse, but the long usb adapter does not work on my laptop or in modern life anymore. Well, this was a great solution! I LOVE IT! I have customized it to control music and volume plus the standard mouse functions. No issues yet. It is not as comfortable as my last Logitech mouse, I think it is the M705 or something like that, but it is decent. I wish the 705 had 4 more customizable buttons. Update after 2 weeks: The software on the other hand is a pain. About 1/4th of the time the mouse does not respond because the computer has lost it. So I have to close and reopen the G Hub(required software to fix most of the issues with the mouse out of the box.). I have used Logitech mice for 20+ years and this one’s software is the worst I have experienced with their software. Out of the box it is set to 400dpi(very slow movement). You have to click a button to change it or control the speed by installing G Hub. I love all the features of G Hub, but every few days I turn on my computer and all the controls are defaulted. I go to G Hub and the mouse is missing from the software. I have to manually close G Hub in the task bar and re open. It finds it again. Just very frustrating. I am a tech nerd, so this is a minor annoyance, but for less tech savvy, this could really make things tough on them. I experienced this glitch on lightspeed and Bluetooth. Bluetooth does reconnect very quickly, so that is good. I knocked a star for the very poor software. Using this with a Lenovo Legion 5 Gaming Laptop 2021 vintage.

   I have an old g604 that I purchased, and it developed a double click issue on the left mouse button. I tred to fix it, ended up breaking it, so I purchased a new one. Image shows the sheer complexity involving trying to fix a double click issue by replacing the bad original switch with a Red Kailh GM 4.0 switch. I took it all apart, tried desoldering the old switch, ended up removing the copper pads with the old switches, which caused the new switches to not work. Then I also somehow messed up putting the springs back, because after I reassembled everything (with the nonworking mouse switches), the clicks were barely working (had to push down hard) and the right click part didn’t spring back up after being pushed down. Likes: – I really like the additional buttons (with each button abled to be switched to another macro via ghub), it’s unlike any other logitech mouse. I use the buttons binded as macros such as undo, redo, copy, paste, select all, ‘k’ for use with a chrome extension that can use the mouse wheel to change video speed +10% or -10% with each tick (very useful on youtube to speed through vids, a macro that uses g-shift to move between adjacent tabs, and another g-shift one that uses mouse wheel right and left clicks to increase/decrease volume . So many useful macros that can be done with this mouse. – The feel of the mouse as a right handed person is fantastic, all the buttons are within easy reach – Having the bluetooth option as a way to connect with another device like a laptop is fantastic. You can instantly switch over from the receiver connection to blutooth by pressing a button – Infinite scroll is fantastic – Battery life is fantastic on receiver mode, bluetooth on the other hand uses a lot more battery so be prepared to have AA batteries. Dislikes: – Mouse developing a double click issue after 2 years – The sheer complexity inside the mouse, not easy to replace a mouse switch or another part. I’m sure that there are ways logitech can reduce the complexity, helping themselves and consumers. I like this mouse enough to purchase a new one even though the old one developed a double click issue.

   I bought this mouse for work. The amount of side buttons and the ability to tilt the mouse wheel came in really handy because using macros saves me a lot of time at work. However, as of about a month ago, this mouse started having a doubleclick issue. It messes up my entire workflow and is very annoying. I can no longer click and drag things, and I cannot double click on a word to highlight it because 2 clicks are actually 3 or 4 clicks according to the mouse. Imagine not being able to highlight a word to copy and paste it because you can’t click and drag and if you try to doubleclick you end up highlighting the whole page. Logitech has a bad doubleclick issue with alot of mice and they aren’t fixing this issue. **UPDATE** adding a star. The double click issues started becoming an off and on thing. For weeks, I wouldn’t have an issues, and then it would start double clicking out of nowhere. This has confirmed for me that the issues is within the firmware and not the mouse itself. HOWEVER, after about a year of use, one of my side buttons broke and literally fell out of the mouse. If you look at my pictures, you’ll see that the mouse is covered in dirt, hand oils, crumbs, dead skin. This is because this mouse was used for 9 hours a day, 5 days a week for over a year. So the idea that the side button eventually broke is not a foreign idea to me. But just wanted to point out that yes, it broke and fell out, so be careful if you pick this mouse up for a daily work mouse. I think I’ll buy another one soon, because it was too useful for my job, and it did last more than a year of heavy usage before it broke. Logitech needs to work on the firmware though. The DoubleClick issue is annoying, but not a complete deal breaker.

   I changed from a g502 hero to this mouse so that is what I will be using to compare. In my opinion, the g502 feels more comfortable BUT if you’re gaming or working you for a long time the g604 will allow you to work longer without your hand getting uncomfortable. The g604 and g502 look very similar in height but the g604 has a more aggressive slope, keeping your hand at a more natural angle. For gaming, the g604 is acceptable. It has renowned hero 16k sensor so precision is not a problem. Where you may feel this mouse falls behind is in weight and grip. This mouse is a fairly hefty 135 grams compared to the 121 of the g502 (without weights) so if you are not a fan of heavy mice maybe pass on this one. For grip, if you use a really aggressive claw grip you’ll have trouble using the g604. It is definitely best for a palm grip or low claw grip. A big strength of the g604 is the amount of programmable buttons. It only has 2 more programmable buttons than the g502 but the array of buttons by the thumb is fast and easy to use. Although the g604 is labeled as a gaming mouse it is suitable for any environment. It’s all black, non-“gamer” design makes it very suitable for the office. If you ever feel speed limited while working on a computer you have an excess of buttons to use as shortcuts and macros to really really speed up work. Also compared to the g502 hero this is wireless which is one of the biggest things for me when I upgraded from my g502 but of course you can get the g502 wireless. Overall, this mouse is easily 9/10 with it’s biggest downfall being its weight as it makes games (especially fps) feel a bit slow if you have to pick up the mouse a lot. If you can get past the weight and limited grip style this mouse is one of the most versatile out there. I highly recommend it

   The G604 Lightspeed is a great wireless single AA battery powered customizable macro key mouse. This review is based on several months of using it for photo editing and regular surfing, not gaming. Keep in mind that this review is most suited for power users in Photoshop Lightroom or any photo editing software or any software period that benefits from having multiple board hotkeys transferred to the click of an extra mouse button. Setup: Effortless connection, with options for Bluetooth or Wi-fi. Consistent connection with both and no issues with either. Just install the G hub app and configure your buttons to streamline your process whether surfing, editing, gaming, word processing, etc. Ergonomics/responsiveness/weight: the mouse has a somewhat ergonomic shape and the thumb rest has a comfortable feel to it. I do not dislike the design however I’m not sure that it’s saving your wrist any particular strain in the long run. Now, I don’t happen to have my mouse lexicon with me so I do apologize in advance if my description of some of the parts are basic. That being said the underside is smooth in terms of the glide over your mouse pad, and you can conveniently set the DPI/pointer speed/sensetivity to a single sensitivity for all profiles. Or for that matter, a button to change DPI setting while holding, and possibly by press and a release, i have not found the need to do so often as of yet. Features: Before I get to the button layout (which I actually am not a big fan of) it would help to be aware of some of the features and how they work. There are two ways to take advantage of having multiple configurations, G shift and onboard profile cycling. I have found that using a combination of them together is optimal. Depending on your ingenuity in structuring your set up you may find it useful to have 2-3 or more profiles for one application. I have attempted to make 3 for photoshop but I tend to lose track and prefer to keep it at 2 so I know I’m in either one or the other. Layout: Not great for maximizing the g shift function. You have to assign it somewhere, anywhere, and it doesnt feel natural assigning to any of the current buttons for me. There needs to be a button on the right side that can be held or toggled instead with your right ring finger. Also G shift is glitchy anyway and basically unuseable if you plan on using profile cycling. After a painstaking search i found a forum discussion of a known bug where it registers a command from the default view when it should not. If you’re a power user and want to have a nice sized array of custom functions at your disposal for each and every editing application which can be set up and swapped seamlessly this mouse is pretty darn up to that task for its pricepoint, just requires a strategic set up. If what you want is a good priced macro custom mouse and youre close to being an advanced pc user or prepared to spend a little time getting it dialed in then get it. Update 2/7/23: during a recent auto update it left the g hub screen just open and thinking for too long so I closed it and it caused the entire program to be unusable. After searching online again, I ended up having to go in and find the setting folders save 3 or them, uninstall everything, reinstall, overwrite the new installs folders, and it works again with my configuration saved. I am now leaning more towards the opinion that if you find a more reliably rated macro mouse choose that instead I’m changing this to three stars. (And probably buying a new mouse, maybe, eventually, when I have time to, which I kinda won’t. Damn.)

   The only things I could have asked for in an upgrade from the g602 were hyper-scroll and a higher dpi– the new g604 does both of these things. I’ve been using the g602 for many years, as both a gaming mouse and also a web design and development mouse, with some graphic design. In that time I’ve learned to move the mouse around with ease, how to lift it up slightly from side to side without moving the cursor, the weight with a single battery installed, perfect aim in fps games, etc. It’s muscle memory basically. So trying to switch to another mouse has been problematic as I found with the g603 (which is a great mouse but doesn’t feel as natural as the g602/g604). The g604 feels almost exactly the same as the g602, with some very minor improvements, like an angled single battery for better weight distribution, slightly depressed thumb buttons for comfort. The hyper-scroll wheel is a life saver for work related tasks. I had spent many late nights scrolling through long websites and web code for work, wishing for a hyper-scroll wheel on the g602, and the new g604 provides exactly that. I can fly through documents for work without getting arm pain from the middle mouse wheel. The other issue I was starting to run into with the g602 was the lower dpi max was showing it’s age on higher resolution monitors. The new g604 fixes that problem with a higher dpi max. Props to Logitech for continuing to ditch the “gamer aesthetic” with the g604 (similar to the g602 and g603). I wouldn’t be embarrassed to be seen using this mouse in an office or around family since it’s not glowing green with the words “PREDATOR” on it or whatever. The g604 is a good, tasteful design that allows it to be a true all-purpose mouse. It would be nice to see more high end hardware companies do this.

    Tengo aprox unos 6 meses de que adquirí el mouse, hasta ahora ha cumplido con todo lo que promete, se siente cómodo al usarse, se adapta bien a la forma de mano y los dedos descansan bien en la superficie del mouse, los botones se sienten cómodos al usarse no se requiere mucha fuerza para oprimirlos, hace muy bien su trabajo al asignarse los botones para diferentes programas y juegos, en mi caso ha sido muy útil pues uso programas como Maya, Autocad, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Studio One entre otros, también hago juego seguido y para juegos como Arma 3 va de maravilla aunque se adapta perfecto a cualquier juego y te ahorra movimientos exagerados para cosas básicas.

    Había leído comentarios en fotos y reviews sobre una posible falla en los botones, a mi hasta ahora no me ha dado doble click ni ha presentado ningún tipo de problema, si eso cambia en el futuro modificaré mi review.

    Lo recomiendo ampliamente por su precio que no es tan descabellado vale bastante la pena para los que hacen de todo un poco.

    Coming from the G700, G604 maintained much of the same design philosophy but improved on nearly every aspects. There are now 6 thumb buttons instead of merely 4, though you do lose 1 of the 3 index finger buttons. Everything are more or less where exactly you’ll need them. The grip pads is actually not mere plastic with rubberized texture, but actual silicon rubber sheet wrapped around the plastic shell. Not to mention the exceptionally LONG battery life when in Bluetooth mode. The extreme poor battery longevity was pretty much the Achilles heel for the original G700, and it is completely remedied in G604. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase… For about about 7 months. The silicon rubber gripe pad bascially starts peeling off on the 5th month. Which was a very easy fix with plastic bonder glue. Though do make SURE to use the two part plastic bonder glue set with included activator, as I’ve tried other adhesive and even epoxy, none of which were able to bond the silicon rubber with the plastic shell at all. Specifically I used the LOCTITE Plastics Bonding System to be exactly. While this was no big deal, and was mended within the hour, it was certainly a bad sign for things to come. I started experience the dreaded double clicking on the 6th month of using the G604. At first it happened rare enough for me to dismiss it. But then it got worse to the point that every other click became a double click. Since we’re still in midst of a pandemic, I decided forgo the warranty and the lengthy RMA process and to just open the mouse up to repair the micro switches on my own. The tear down was a long and tedious process, you can certainly understand the price point this mouse sits just by all the uniquely molded individual plastic components it has, I’ve counted no less than 10 big and small plastic parts that I had to disassemble just to get to the PCB board where the problematic micro switch sits. That’s when I finally noticed the Chinese OMRON micro switches that were the heart of the problem. To be fair, OMRON was known to make solid micro switches, however these particular switches were made from OMRON’s Chinese plants instead of the usual Japanese plants. Not only that, these are the cheaper ones that were only rated up to 20 million clicks before failing, and obviously mine failed way before the rated clicks. Thankfully, while the disassembly was long and tedious, the de-soldering/solder process was very easy since there were ample rooms on the PCB board to work the soldering iron. I simply replaced the factory OMRON switches with higher end switches that are rated for up to 80 million clicks and completely remedied the double clicking issue. In conclusion. The mouse was thoughtfully designed with all the necessary amenities and more for both gaming and day-to-day uses. However the quality control does seem to be quite off compare to the previous generation of Logitech mice. Obviously this was just sample of one and your millage may very. But be prepared of possibly doing some DIY fixes when the problems start rearing their heads.

    Este mouse ha sido una excelente inversión para mi. Es verdad que es un poco grande para ciertas manos, pero sus funciones hacen que valga la pena su compra. Anteriormente tuve el mouse logitech g602 y este viene siendo como su version mejorada por la batería. Este mouse tiene un perfecto rendimiento de batería y tan solo usa una batería AA, me hubiese gustado más que fuese por carga usb ya que tiene un alto precio pero quizás quede para el futuro. Para el apartado de los juegos es bastante preciso si se usa el modo gaming, ya que tiene botones dedicados para activar diferente funciones de los mismos, pero la razón mas importante que compre este mouse fue por su productividad. Los macros que tiene el mouse también pueden usarse en otros programas como photoshop, premiere y autocad que es el que actualmente uso. Si eres estudiante de arquitectura este mouse te agilizara el trabajo ya que puedes asignarles comandos a los botones y estos los creas a través del programa de logitech el cual es muy amigable con el usuario.

    The Logitech G604 looks and functions as described, I like the dpi buttons location and the side buttons are a nice plus, I’ve already assigned functions to them that streamlined my workflow considerably, I do some gaming, writing, and photo and video editing. The infinite scroll wheel is a feature I didn’t know I needed till I used it, saves a lot of frustration from scrolling, the scroll left and right by tilting the scroll wheel is a major plus. So far I only used it in lightspeed mode over the USB receiver, no interference from wifi as I run my network in 5GHz mode, the response time is indistinguishable from wired mice, I used it in games, mainly Assassin’s creed to no impact on performance whatsoever. I didn’t use the extender cable to plug in the receiver as I have it plugged directly into my usb hub. The weight of the mouse is quite acceptable and only took a half hour of use to get used to as my previous one was lighter, but it posed no problem for me and really that weight is nothing to my hands. The mouse is quite ergonomic and cause no pain or soreness in 4+ hours of daily use. Battery life is good so far, I’ve used it for 10 days now on lightspeed mode and still going, avg 4-5 hours daily, and the software still shows me a full battery, which brings me to… Software! G hub is certainly not the most intuitive thing to use, a bit of a learning curve, but I’m taking it easy and exploring it bit by bit, I’ve already changed my dpi levels, I prefer generally higher dpi as my mouse movements are more twitchy than using full elbow movements, and I’ve played with assigning functions to the G keys. The software is not intuitive but by no means a reason to discourage buying this product. No RGB, fine with it, I’d much rather pay more for functionality than festival lights that would stay hidden under my hand anyway during use. Build quality is great, the mouse looks and feels premium and solid, the buttons are firm with no wiggle, clicking feels soft and produces low soft sounds, which is to my liking. The scroll wheel is metal which makes it a bit louder than average, though not in a bad or distracting way. The battery and receiver cover is solid and holds tightly to the mouse body when in place with no play whatsoever when using the mouse, the rubber textured middle of the mouse, including thumb rest, feels good on the skin. Buttons do not attract fingerprints which is a huge plus, though the part with the scroll wheel has a glossy finish which is a fingerprint magnet. In conclusion, this is a great quality product with all the functionality one would want from a mouse for gaming and work with a great deal of customisation without unnecessary bling, the mouse looks sleek and professional and elevates the look of your workspace, the software could use some improvement but not a deterrent. All in all I would definitely recommend buying this, not only because it’s a quality product, but also for the freedom of wireless! I’ll update my review as I use the mouse and discover anything more to outline. Edit: 1 year 3 months on, The mouse works as good as ever, still looks new, I’ve been operating it for the last 6 months with a rechargeable battery. Click sound and feel still the same, no degradation to rubber or plastic, even side button labels are intact. one of the best purchases ever. One note: use logitech g hub only to dial in your preferred settings, save the profile to the mouse then use it in on-board mode from then, software mode interferes too much in the functionality for my liking and some functions even work better; I had assigned volume up and down to buttons G8 & G9 and it only worked in tiers, as in I had to repeatedly press the button for the volume slider to move, in onboard mode the duration of the press determined the movement of the volume slider, as in it moved as long as I pressed the button, same thing with side scroll.

    I purchased this wireless mouse to use with my Asus Rog Strix G15. This product does not require logitech’s software to run but if you want to make full use of its features then you will need to download it. Pros: -Fit my hand well (subjective) – Plenty of buttons – Lots of customization for this price range – Battery Life optimization great Cons: – Mouse well was very loose. Took part of a note card and folded it and wedged it inside because the wobble and sound drove me insane. – Not all buttons/commands easily assigned. – After mild use (less than 50 hours) the left mouse button sticks and is very noticeable (which prompted this review) . I use my utechsmart mouse from 4-5 years ago with zero issues and it has heavy daily use. TLDR – You play hardware lottery with a well known brand. You may get a great mouse or one that falls apart with 6 months of mild use or get with loose pieces. Need better Quality Control on Logitech’s part.

    From left to right: UTechSmart Venus Pro, LG 604, then Corsair Scimitar Pro. I’ll get right to it. The LG 604 has excellent ergonomics, it’s wireless, epic battery life, superior scroll wheel, ability to switch between Bluetooth and dongle quickly (though not as stable as one would hope), with the best materials of the three. What I would like to see on the next iteration is a third row of thumb buttons, making the total 1-9. Having only 6 buttons is a real deal breaker for me in terms of gaming and productivity. This is the best mouse I’ve ever had, but the lack of thumb buttons makes this mouse sit in a catagory all of its own and doesn’t make it particularly great at anything. I know I’ll be buying a 606 immediately if a third or fourth row of numbers could be squeezed in there. A cherry on top would be if they can keep the same real estate for the thumb rest.
