   I have had my G610 for 3.5 years now. The keyboard is great except the key caps prematurely fail and I can’t get replacements that match. I have robbed some of the lesser used keys (ex – “[” “]” “;”) but it is is not a good solution.

   Out of the box, the glossy plastic sides of the keyboard were heavily scuffed. The left and right sides had a clear scuff line down the center, as if caused by something down the assembly line. The top and bottom sides had scuffing too, but not as extensive. The glossy plastic did not come with protective film covering them, like other electronics typically do. Receiving a new product like this out of the box is just unacceptable. Logitech, please get over your obsession with using glossy plastic on your products. It’s not a premium look. All it does it make scratches, fingerprints, and dust more easily visible. Another thing to note is the keyboard would make a high-pitched buzzing sound whenever the backlight was set to less than full brightness using the button on the keyboard. Using the software to reduce the brightness causes no buzzing sound.

I’ve had it since July 21, 2018, so in just two months, the left arrow key came detached while typing and will not fit securely anymore. I can’t return the item and I’m pretty bummed.    Love the Cherry MX Brown switches and the plain white backlighting is perfect for me, highly recommended to all! The Logitech Gaming software lets me customize how my keyboard is lit, and also some programming functions as well. I love the tactile feel of the MX Brown switches, and this product feels like its really well made. It has really quick response time and I don’t feel like there’s any lag when I’m gaming. And I definitely recommend this keyboard for those of you who want backlit keys, but aren’t really into the whole RGB thing (or are already tired of it).

   I got this keyboard to replace an old (but still pretty decent) membrane keyboard that I use at home, but I liked the G610 (brown switches) so much that I brought it to work and plan on buying another one for home use (maybe with red switches, since I use the home PC 90% of the time for gaming). This keyboard weighs a lot and doesn’t move around on the desk at all thanks to 5 pads on the bottom. The media keys come in really handy and I made sure to get a keyboard with a volume roll bar, since I’m always adjusting the volume on my headset when I’m gaming. The construction is solid, and I like the plain white backlighting. There are three settings to adjust the angle they keyboard sits at. The keyboard and keys sit higher than other keyboards I’ve used, and I’ve ordered a wrist pad to see if that helps, since I notice after a few hours of typing that my wrists get tired (this may also be something that I need to get used to). When I had this keyboard at home I set up a couple profiles for Battlefield 1 and Overwatch where I had the WASD keys lit up at the maximum brightness and the other keys I use (Shift, E, R, etc.) lit up to a lower setting and all of the other keys off (I game mostly in a dark or dim office so the lighting is a nice touch). I don’t use the backlighting at work, but I do enjoy the looks of the keycaps because they don’t look as “gamery” as many of the other keyboards (like the K70 Lux, which I also tried out and liked). I enjoyed gaming on this keyboard, although it didn’t give me any sort of advantage over my backlit membrane keyboard (just use a keyboard you’re comfortable with; a keyboard isn’t going to make a difference in your gaming performance unless perhaps you’re a professional gamer). The Cherry Brown switches are a joy to type on and I hated trying to go back to the cheap keyboard my job provided me. You definitely notice the tactile feedback but other than that they aren’t too much different than the linear Red Cherries. This keyboard isn’t very loud as long as you don’t pound on the keys; I keep my office door open and I doubt the person in the office next to me can hear me type. I would have liked if they offered a TKL version of this keyboard since I don’t have much use for the number pad, but this keyboard is still a couple inches shorter than my previous keyboard and I still have plenty of space on my desk for my mouse and large mousepad.

High quality white LED lighting with breathing and other customizable display effects, as well as 4 different lighting levels. Works great for Mac, since Win key cap and Alt key cap can be switched around for better looks. Volume rocker/mute button is extremely easy to reach and use, also works with mac. Non-removable thick braided USB cable ensures the keyboard connection is always secure. Traditional full key design and layout The LED lighting turns off automatically when mac is in sleep mode Cons: Primary and secondary keys are flipped on the keyboard to accommodate the LED lighting restriction, but if you are a touch typer it’s no big deal. And if you get the Romer-G version (Logitech G810) it’s got full color chroma lighting and the key cap is designed to fully optimize lighting effects. Other Thoughts: Highly recommended, especially at this price range. Build quality is excellent. The keyboard feels sturdy, heavy and cherry mx red keys are not only great for gaming, they are very easy to type on and also very quiet, especially at night. I’ve owned plenty cherry mx brown keys and I think I should have gotten the red key to begin with. The white lighting also compliments the apple products well.

    Just like others said, within a year of normal daily use, several keys started to fall off. I have used cheap Dell keyboards that came with their PC’s for 5+ years, it’s unbelievable that this supposedly “premium” keyboard would be such a piece of junk.

    I really LOVE this keyboard, it has everything I need : simple design, very nice feeling, customizable lightning (white only as I don’t need RGB … not yet at least 🙂 ) per key, or set a breathing, wave, or several key lightning moving randomly making a “matrix” style effect). I use it to type and for gaming as well – hence my choice of Cherry MX Brown, in my opinion these are the most versatile switches. Pair it with a G series mouse and you have a nice setup. Was also very well packaged by go-keyboard.com, so kudos to both Logitech and go-keyboard.com this time !

    I got mine almost new, there is something rattling around in there but it doesn’t seem to affect performance. Also, if you are looking for a quiet keyboard, this is NOT it. I’m not sure there is a mechanical keyboard out there that is quiet. I’m sure it’s quieter than the red version of the same keyboard but if you need to type up a passer or program at night, look elsewhere. Otherwise it’s a sturdy, heavy, keyboard with volume controls that are very easy to use.

    Great tactile feedback and a satisfy clickly-clack. My A S D keys started to peel away. They have etched away the black plastic coating to allow for the lighting to come through and it’s turned those three into blobs. It’s really weird that the W hasn’t been affected, or any other keys for that matter. I mostly keep my nails trimmed so I don’t think that’s it. Oh well…

    I’ve gotten to play around with the Logitech G610 for a little while now and am currently writing this review with the board. This is probably close to my tenth mechanical keyboard so I’ve gotten a little bit of experience with them. My normal keyboard is a Ducky Shine with MX Greens. Right out of the box, the G610 impresses with its sheer weight. The case is all plastic (not aluminum like some other weighty boards) so without taking the entire thing apart, I’m not sure where the weight is coming from. The PCB is not visible under the keys – it’s covered by a generic black plastic layer, so I don’t think dual PCBs is the cause. In any case, the board feels very solid and with all of the wide rubber feet on the bottom, I doubt this guy will move around much even on the slickest of surfaces. The main surface of the keyboard (the top) is a matte black finish, unfortunately the sides are a glossy black fingerprint and smudge magnet. The cable has a nice woven braid wrapping – unfortunately it is not detachable. The keycaps were a bit of a surprise. I think Logitech opted to go the extra mile and went with doubleshot ABS caps. If you look at my picture, you can see that the underside of the key is completely white while there is a black shell all around the key. The lettering for each key is slightly indented, also suggesting that these are indeed doubleshot keys. They are a bit on the thin side of the keycap thickness, but not to the point where they feel cheap. I am guessing that the keys are ABS instead of PBT simply because they lack the telltale bumpy texture of PBT – the keys feel very uniform. For those unfamiliar with keyboard plastics, this generally means that the keys will probably get “shiny” over time from the oils in your hands. However since they are doubleshot, the letters will never fade. Out of the box, my keyboard was set to a fade pattern. I’ve read that the pattern out of the box is random. This seems like an odd choice, because there will always be people like me who are loathe to install bloated control panel software, especially for things like keyboards. I much prefer Ducky’s approach of everything being controllable via function keys on the board itself. Since Logitech decided to go the route of requiring CP software, they should have at least left the default lighting setting at “on” instead of the random effects. That way, should a user decide not to install the software, you’ve still got base functionality instead of a random lighting pattern. You can control lighting strength out of the box with the lighting key, but not the pattern. The media keys also worked for me out of the box. Specialty lighting – such as controlling brightness per keys and other lighting patterns – are all controlled via the app. This is not an RGB board (unfortunately), the LEDs are white only. So far I am a fan of this keyboard. It is understated enough where you can bring it into an office setting without looking like you’re dragging along some sort of gaming monstrosity. The white LEDs also seem more “professional” versus the rainbow of other colors on the market now. The board feels very solid and the doubleshot keycaps were a nice surprise. Little things like having the USB cable be completely removable and having the lighting pattern be changeable without having to install a few hundred megs of software would have been very nice. If you’re an “enthusiastic” typer like me who hits their keys relatively aggressively, the light keycaps may cause some “klack” noises when they bottom out. This might be a consideration for those who have to use the keyboard in a quiet environment. Neither the Cherry Red or Browns (which are currently the only two switches available as of this review) have the true “click” sound associated to mechanical switches, but they aren’t exactly “silent” either. They are definitely quieter than their MX Blue / Green counterparts, however.

    A great keyboard all around, but mine had a slight defect. Certain keys have their top-left corners very close to the walls of the key bays. A few of them are so close that they stick if you press them up and to the left. My F9 key is so close that it sticks during normal use. Photos attached. As other reviewers have noted, the backlight performs a wave when your computer is asleep. There appears to be no way to change that. I don’t mind it, but others might. Otherwise, fantastic keyboard. – Minimalist look. Matte finish on the body and the keys – Bright, adjustable backlight – Smooth, wide volume wheel – Customizable backlight. You can decide what keys you want lit, and there are some fun animation options like having the keys flash when you press them
