   I really wanted to give this 5 stars because Logitech has not failed me before! I loved using their products and great customer arrive. Use their wireless keyboards, mouse, webcam etc… My biggest complaint about this was that the keys started to stick after a month of usage… maybe we game too much , but the “a”, “s”, “w” and “d” keys definitely are the ones who type in repetition after one touch, but I see it on other keys as well. Tried to contact Logitech but they ended up telling us to just return it for a refund… like c’mon man! I’m trying to slice in COD… It worked great before that! Very responsive and the key caps were bright, customizable via the Logitech app

   Decent keyboard, but after a few months, alt/cmd key is wearing. It’s been less than 5 months since purchase and the key had been showing wear for a few months now. Today it bugged me enough to take a pic and post this review. Aside from cheaply made keys, I have grown to like the keyboard. At first it felt narrow, compared to my Razer, but I’ve adjusted to it. Software works well on my iMac and after setting up mappings, all works well. Lighting schemes are cool and fun, but I usually just keep a solid red or green backlight. Would be nice if keyboard slept when computer is in standby, you have to remember to turn off or will revert to default color wave. I think I will try a Corsair mechanical next. I make my living on the keyboard and i expect to wear them out quicker than average, but a few months on wear is unacceptable.

   First mechanical keyboard I’ve got from Logitech. I’ve got this for my new Build with a specific theme in mind, and they’ve nailed it! The quality of the finish is incredible and the minimal design is a huge improvement from the overstylized predecessors. Pros: – Perfect Design: The keyboard’s design tries not too hard to appeal to “gamers” like many other Logitech Keyboards, which is a step in a right direction for them. All while not sacrificing the essentials of a “gaming keyboard” such as media keys – Colors : The colors are crisp and clear on this board, the “tunneling” effect of the Romer-G keycaps allow the light to pass through in full brightness without bleeding out onto the other keys. The software is fairly easy to use and Compliments other Logitech peripherals like my G502. – Effects : They keyboard’s software comes with serveral pre loaded effects that are unique to this board, you also have an option to program your own. Which is alright but It’s not really the selling point for me. – Feel: the Matte Finish give a smooth and clean feel.The keys are fairly quiet (quieter than the MX Brown switches) and typing is very comfortable, even after a very long session. The height is adjustable and it gives you an option of 4 degrees and 8 degrees. Now for why I gave it 4 stars and not 5 Cons: -No removable USB, for the price, I would expect one -Keycaps cannot be replaced: since the G810 is not MX compatable, gettig a custom keycap or a replacement keycap is difficult if not impossible unless if you use a 3D printer. Kind of a deal breaker for Mech enthusiasts. -The Keys themselves: Romer switches aren’t that bad, but personally, feels a bit mushy and the high tactical bump feels a bit strange. Putting too much pressure also results in a very obvious springy noise. -No Keyboard Macros: I don’t really care much for this, but for the asking price It should have them. -A little thick and heavy -No armrest

   I was looking for the perfect keyboard I found it. Absolutely no ghosting on the keys. So many lighting options on this, yes You have to go to Logitech’s website and download customizing window no big deal. I custom colored mine. Keys have a good touch, not really loud but not whisper quiet either. Keys are very legible with bolder lettering than my previous Eagle Tech keyboard. I might order another one for a 2nd PC I have and sell the 2 Eagle Techs. I am not a Gamer so I cannot speak the use on their terms, but for everyday use it’s nice. I did cut off a piece of electrical tape and cover the logo my opinion logo’s are to big and bright they distract me and I did the same for the Eagle Techs. Also the board has a good amount of weight to it so it won’t move around easily. Do not hesitate purchasing this. I’m glad I did.

    The keycaps on this are constantly popping off and breaking so that they can’t be reattached. The light on the spacebar almost immediately went out after purchase. Logitech doesn’t want to fix the issue and they don’t offer replacement keycaps for this keyboard. Buy a mechanical keyboard with easily and affordably replaceable keycaps.e

    I bought this keyboard for US$100 in February 2018, and it is now Aug 2020, so I’ve had it for two and a half years. While the Logitech software has improved over the past two years, it is still difficult to use and does not always change profiles or change keymapping when it should. I really do like that feature, but it is unreliable. I am also unable to delete certain profiles, so I have to leave a few dead profiles in my configuration. I am also unable to create a profile for Borderlands 3–it just does not allow it. (Yes, I reported these bugs to Logitech, but they ignored me.) You also need to manually back up your profile configurations, which is tedious (even for a software developer, like me). Since the keyboard is rated for 80M keystrokes, I expected it to last a lot longer. However, (as has happened to many other customers–Google it) the left CTRL key broke off its posts (and left them stuck in the switch). Logitech did not respond to my request for customer support. I thought they might at least send me a new CTRL key (and I would use the hot-needle trick recommended on Reddit to remove the stuck posts). Instead, they did not respond at all. I could purchase a new set of keycaps for US$25. No thank you. I decided to put that money towards a new Redragon K580 keyboard instead. For only US$70, it uses standard switches (which are stronger) and even ships with keycap/switch pullers and replacements of different switch types. Logitech, I will never buy a keyboard from you again.

    18 months edit: In summary, the G810 wowed me with the absolutely stunning lighting, and it was the first mechanical keyboard I’ve ever owned. The media keys were great. It was quiet, and had good key feel brand new, especially coming from a worn out membrane board. But in the long run, the keycaps are a terrible design, and the switches also aged terribly. Probably the biggest issue is that the keys are proprietary Logitech mounts, so you cannot easily buy replacement keycaps or switches. …so after about a year of daily use, the key caps on this keyboard started to really bother me. I’m pretty sure they are painted/coated from the factory with some kind of soft rubbery plastic, which is typical of the “gaming” keyboard genre. The rubbery coating started to always feel dirty and grimey, so I took the entire set of keycaps off and cleaned them all with soapy water, but it was impossible to clean the “shine” off the keys. I also started to notice the lettering more and more after the dirty feel of the keys became more of a problem… The lettering is engraved and has significant depth so it is very noticeable to feel it under the fingertips. After suffering through using the keyboard with this “dirty” feeling for about 6 more months and trying to clean the keycaps a second time, I eventually decided to go for a new keyboard. This time I focused on the keycap material and design, and going with a more standard key mount… Ended up going with double shot PBT caps on Cherry MX brown switches… and it feels A THOUSAND times better than the Logitech G810. I also immediately noticed how smooth the new MX brown switches felt compared to the Logitech Romer-G’s, which feel very “gritty”. I’m docking off two stars from my initial review. 1 for the “uncleanable” keycap design, and 1 for the fact that the keycaps have a proprietary mount. I could almost dock another star for how lousy and noisy the G810 spacebar feels… but it’s not a game breaker. ————————————- Old review: This was my first mechanical keyboard investment, upgraded from a roughly 5 year old, heavily used Razer Anansi. NO REGRETS. This keyboard is completely worth the asking price. Excellent quality, excellent software, beautiful lighting, the switches have been flawlessly operating for the past 3-4 months since I bought it. I use it every day. Edit:. Today was the first day I had the chance to compare this with a louder clicky style mechanical keyboard. I really have to say the clicky clicky style, albeit MUCH louder than Logitech’s switches, did feel much more tactile and enjoyable to type on. I do a lot of streaming so the noise reduction is definitely good for me, but if you don’t care about that, consider trying a cheapo clicky style keyboard first before investing hard into these switches from Logitech. Granted, this keyboard is worth the asking price for the lighting effects alone, if you’re into that.

    A little late lol but… Good keyboard. Came in perfect condition, all the stuff works. As a first time mechanical keyboard user, I can’t say much about its feel as aech keyboard as a whole. But I liked the crispness of the keypresses and the buttons feel nice. The keyboard is very sturdily built, i.e. very heavy. They used some sort of metal as a backplate and I like it. Gives it a robustness and none of that bending. Lights are bright, although if you’re going to use white as a colour you’re gonna be a lottle disappointed as it has a weird hue to it. I don’t mind actually as the other colours are super bright. Especially green and red. Thick braided cable is a nice touch to it. My favourite feature would be the large scroll cylinder thing in the top right that controls the volume. Very easy to quickly mute your games (or ‘videos’). Or just use one of the oversized quock access buttons at the top that feel nice although the click is a little loud. Perhaps for tactile feel or something. Overall I like it. And the deal they had going on in March with the whole free ‘The Division’ game was pretty sweet. Until you actually play it. Other than that it might seem a little pricey but you’ll be paying for the extra bells and whistle in the form of a metal backplate and, of course, the RGB lighting system. Plus, Logitech’s pretty reliable and their quality is good so I’m happy with this purchase.

    I really do like this keyboard, and feel it is definitely worth $100. The keys are quieter than most gaming keyboards I have owned so if you want the performance of a gaming keyboard without the loud clackity-clack sound of say some Cherry MX blue switches. The RGB is easy to control and very customizable with Logitech Gaming software. You can literally spend hours making your own custom lighting profiles. The Media controls on the top left of the keyboard are a godsend for any of us who like our music and want the ease of changing tracks and controlling volume without having to navigate through windows. I do feel the keys themselves have a quite a bit longer travel distance, and bottoming them out feels a but mushy for a mechanical keyboard. I would also love to see this keyboard updated with some usb ports for convenience. I really dont think its possible to make a keyboard that is perfect for everyone, but I think this fits my use case really well. I love the product and would be happy to buy another Logitech Romer-G switch keyboard again. Cheers!

    Nothing much to add to this product considering the vast number of positive reviews here. Here’s what I like and what I think could be improved in the next iteration of Logitech’s gaming keyboards. What I like: * The Romer-G keys: No pinging issues with mine (I have a soft extended mat under the keyboard if that helps), and the keys are super silent. Not mushy at all. I have a Corsair K70 Cherry MX Reds and this definitely takes the cake over that. * The Lighting: No colour spills which is welcomed. Some prefer the brightness of the Strafe RGB but if you prefer a more stealthy design that is further complemented by the overall look of the G810, then this will appeal to you. The colours aren’t as bright but the lights stay secured within each key cap. * The aesthetics: I personally fell in love with the simplicity of the design when I first saw it via NCIX Tech Tips video (o.o). It’s stealthy, and it’s minimalistic. However, not a fan of the glossy sides (thank God it’s not too visible) and the secured space between the “A” key and Caps Lock. * The Media Controls: I wouldn’t have bought it if not for the extremely useful media keys, especially the large volume wheel. It’s silent, no grooves and it’s super handy. * The build quality: I personally find this almost as sturdy as the K70 which has an aluminium body. It’s plastic but it’s not cheap. At all. What Needs to Be Improved: * Overall Package: At this price point the G810 is competing with the Strafe and K70 and whatnot. Some may argue that paying this much nets you nothing, not even a wrist rest. Customers love it when tech companies surprise them with more than just stickers and lights. Logitech, please consider extras to value your customers for years to come. * Onboard Memory: Everytime you boot up your PC or shut it down, you will not keep your customized layout of lighting and whatnot. This is quite a letdown because 1) it’s annoying and 2) you can’t keep your settings if you move between computers with your keyboard. * Weird White Lights: As of this review the white colour is not displayed properly. Almost blue-ish and/or purplish. * USB Passthrough: Don’t really mind it but come on! At this price point your customers will expect extras (as mentioned) and if you don’t offer a wrist rest or extra keycaps, why not a dumb USB 2.0 passthrough to ease the lives of your customers (regardless if they need or not)? 😀 If you worry about the Romer-Gs, or the lights, then my advice is to go for a safer alternative keyboard (like a Ducky, or the MX Silent on the Strafe RGB) but this keyboard is amazing for me, and I highly recommended it to those who are coming from rubber domes or want to try something different but functional, aesthetically pleasing and performs just as well!

    So I really like the keyboard. But Customer Service is killing the product. I ordered on April 3rd, and received it on the 5th. I did get a code for The Division in the box. On April 7th I put a support ticket in due to one of the keys not reproducing colors properly. I didn’t hear back until April 13th with the only help offered being a request to update my firmware. I responded the same day that it was up to date. I haven’t heard back as of this review. I’ve also left a comment on forum posts with similar issues and those other users haven’t seemed to have received any support either. It’s unfortunate that a really good product is being plagued by defects and poor customer service. Edit: Re-uploaded picture, was originally sideways.

    This keyboard was my first ever mechanical gaming keyboard, Before this I was using an old normal keyboard. So first of all, the LED colors is WONDERFUL, the chroma is really awesome, which at night makes the keyboard really stand out. Since I upgraded from an old keyboard, I dont have knowledge how is this mechanical keyboard compared to a MX Cherry Mechanical keyboard. But the feel to the keys is really responsive, just that sometimes it feels kind of “mushy” but is not that much, maybe someone who upgrades from another mechanical keyboard can give a better insight. But for me this is really awesome, pretty happy of the purchase.

    You’ll most likely have to update to the latest Logitech Gaming Software (8.79.77) released February 10, 2016 since it added support for the G810. My other G-keyboards worked fine, but I was wondering why my G810 wasn’t showing up in the Logitech software when I plugged it in, and it was because I didn’t have that latest update. It also updated the firmware to v102.1.22 to add programmable keys. I previously reviewed the G410, which I wasn’t too impressed about; the keys on the G410 is very springy and cheap feeling to me and was quite disappointed with it (besides the advantage of being compact/light) However, the G810 is a quality keyboard. This is a very clean-cut keyboard. The G810 keys even have a lot more solid feedback feel to it than the G910. It’s like taking that satisfying solid true mechanical key presses of the G710, but making it just slightly mushier to minimize the sound. I think it’s appropriately named G810 because I feel it’s in between the G910 and G710, like they had a baby together… or I guess, more like the brother in the middle. The G810 feels pretty heavy for its size. It has a really solid feel to it. It doesn’t feel cheap at all and really feels like a quality keyboard. The spacebar actually has a consistent quality to it and not inferior like it is on the G910/G410. I don’t think I would recommend this for regular typing unless you really like spaced out keys because I feel I have to stretch my fingers more when I’m typing with the G810. Pros: – Clean solid weight and build quality – Really large volume wheel (bigger than G910) and media controls – Individual RGB customize key colors (also available on G910 and G410 – just a really awesome lighting feature) – Braided and more solid USB (better than G910) – Firmware updates / F keys can be programmable (after firmware update) – Nice spacebar (a lot better than the cheap spacebar on the G410) Cons: – No programmable G-keys. The F keys can be programmable (after firmware update), but it’s not the same (at least I wish there was a button or fast way to switch between standard F keys to the customized one/different profiles); however, I understand not everyone needs them and it does make the keyboard look clean – Keys feel more spaced out, feels like more stretching effort to reach keys when typing Well, it seems Logitech designed to release several G-series keyboard where one has certain better features than the other. Unfortunately, you can’t have everything in one. If your main priority is having a compact and light keyboard, go with the G410 (but you sacrifice programmable keys/lack on special features besides individual RGB lighting/not a fan of the springy empty-feeling key feedback) If you don’t care about flashy lighting and just want a really clicky mechanical feeling keyboard, go with G710 If you want to have the ultimate features then go with the G910 If you like a clean-cut keyboard with a solid features/keyboard (and don’t need the extra G-keys), then go with this G810. If I had to personally rank them, I go with G910 – G810 – G710 then G410. I still feel the G910 is the mother of all Logitech keyboards right now. However, the G810 is a solid keyboard and I’m a fan of it.

    After spending a year with my G810, I wanted to share my overall thoughts on the G810 along with my recommendations. Pros: – The look of this keyboard is top notch. The back-lighting is the best I’ve seen with more color options you could ever dream of. It doesn’t look like your standard gaming keyboard–which is a good thing in my opinion–and looks quite stealthy with the back-lighting turned off in an office environment. – I love the volume wheel and the music controls being easily accessible. – High build quality and feels solid. The braided cable is a nice touch. – The Romer G switches are really quiet for being mechanical and aren’t likely to annoy your spouse, co-workers, or roommates. Cons: – I didn’t mind the Romer G’s at first but after spending a year with them I find them mushy and almost fatiguing to type on. The actuation distance is nice but it doesn’t provide that “crisp & clacky” feeling you get from more conventional switches. – The buttons for playing/pausing, stopping, and skipping music feel cheap and “pingy” in comparison to the rest of the keyboard. – Originally overpriced at $150 but it looks like it can now be found for $80-90. – No USB passthrough. Overall: I still recommend the G810 as a solid, sleek looking keyboard that can be used for work and play. But I would highly recommend you try the Romer G switches out at a local retailer if at all possible before buying–basically, the Romer G is the redheaded step child of a mechanical and membrane switch. I’m giving the G810 four stars because of this. If only Logitech offered different switch options on the G810, it would be a solid 5 stars.

    Let me begin by saying that his is probably the finest keyboard I have ever used in terms of aesthetics, key response, and general workmanship. I was previously using this keyboard’s younger brother, the Logitech G710+, also a mechanical keyboard I love (which saw me through four years of a PhD program, numerous papers and articles, and a 500+ page dissertation). The G810 makes some key improvements (pun intended). Below are my highlights, followed by a brief discussion of compatibility issues for Mac users who want a topnotch mechanical keyboard. ‘ The main departure from the G710+ is that the G810 sports a minimalist design, making it look almost like an ordinary keyboard. This means you can use it at the office without people looking at you like you’re weird. It looks more professional and adult. It’s also quite a bit smaller owing to the absence of custom keys to the left, which I never used on the G710+ anyway. See my attached photo. ‘ The second biggest change are the keys themselves. By now, you’ve probably read about the Romer-G Mechanical key switches, which have 25% faster key actuation and are significantly quieter than competitors. I would say this is accurate. There is definitely a big difference. In practical terms, what you’ll notice is that these keys have a shorter keystroke than most mechanical keyboards, they are MUCH quieter, and they just simply feel crisper and more response — almost like there is less rattle in the keys (notwithstanding the extraordinarily hard use my old G710+ saw). It’s icing on the cake that now my typing cannot be heard throughout the house! Daughter’s room is next door to my office, so this means I don’t have to keep my door closed at night. ‘ They layout and aesthetics are nice. The keyboard is hefty and a bit thicker than most (standing up higher from the desk), but overall this keyboard is very slim and streamlined compared to most clunker gaming keyboards. ‘ Note well: there is no USB port on the keyboard itself, as there was on the G710+. I think this is good. Basically, on the G710+, you had to use two cords (which takes up space), plug into two USBs on the computer (which takes up space), only to gain a single USB port. Much easier to keep the keyboard simple and just plug the USB drive into the computer when necessary. Now for compatibility issues: ‘ As I said in my title, this keyboard *works* with the Mac but is not YET *compatible.* What does this mean? This means that if you plug this keyboard into your Mac, it will work exactly like it’s supposed to. All the keys work. All the multimedia buttons work. You can toggle the backlighting on and off. You can play music from the keyboard. You can skip tracks. You can adjust volume. Every single key works across platforms because of the way they are programmed, and Macs are designed to work with this standard programming. ‘ So what do I mean it’s not “compatible”? I mean that Logitech has not yet released software specifically for this Keyboard that makes it compatible with the Mac. In other words, YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE COLOR OF THE BACKLIGHTING, AND YOU CANNOT CUSTOMIZE KEYS FOR GAMING. Everything else works the same. ‘ Why do I think you should buy it for your Mac anyway? First, because it’s a great keyboard and everything works as expected for normal use. Second, because I think Logitech will release Mac compatibility updates in due course. This happened with the G710+. I was one of the first people to get a G710+, again (like this time) as an advance user test and review. When I first received it, the G710+ was not Mac compatible — there was no software for Mac, and I could not customize keys. But, within several months, Logitech released an update for Mac compatibility, I was able to customize keys, and basically I gained full compatibility with the keyboard as if I was using a PC. I suspect the exact same thing will happen with this keyboard and that Mac users will find before long that it’s fully compatible. In sum, this is a fantastic keyboard in every way, without a doubt the best I have ever used. I highly recommend it and hold out hope that a Mac update will be released before long. Happy typing! UPDATE (4-21-2016): Today I received an automated update from Logitech that makes this keyboard FULLY COMPATIBLE with the Mac 10.11.4 OS. Well done, Logitech! I had already given 5 stars, but this solidifies it. Amazing keyboard, now fully compatible across multiple operating systems.

    I’m writing this review using that awesome keyboard, and i must say that this product is just amazing. accurate noisy typing keyboard that do just what it is supposed to do. pros: awesome volume control wheel, fast typing speed, accurate lights for dark times while also clearly visible with the room’s light turn on. i love the sound, the feeling of the keys. the metal frame, the ‘turn windows key off’ key, and the variety of light options it gives. cons: no hand rest, but if you have a good computer armrest chair its just fine that way. the enter key is too small in my opinion. id prefer the full sized enter, but that’s something to get used to. except that, 9/10. update: after almost half a year of usage, the esc, right arrow and right alt keys broke. the cheap plastic sticks that suppose to hold the keys in place are just a failure. that’s a shame because this keyboard is great. too bad it’ll lose some important keys after just 6 months. 4/10 Update: Its been a year and this keyboard is getting useless and useless as more keys are breaking down. I wouldn’t recommend buying this. 1/10. unusable.

    Fantastic keyboard. RGB is tastefully discrete, such that it’s very noticeable without lighting up your entire room. Having transitioned from a good ‘ol regular keyboard to this, I can’t compare it to other switches. I hammer the keys when I type and refuse to get used to just slightly pressing them (people keep saying this is what these switches are ideal for), but I still love typing on it. It took me about a week until I was completely used to it. People also mentioned a mushy feel to it, and while I haven’t tried other switches, I feel the key press is very solid. Also worth mentioning: Every time I turn my computer on, until the logitech software starts the keyboard stays on the default color cycle mode — wish it had onboard memory so my RGB configuration stayed but oh well The software is great! It has TONS of customization. I’ve fiddled with it a lot but ultimately settled for a slower color wave — it’s pretty sweet. The media keys are AMAZING. The volume wheel is excellent. When I’m studying and listening to music, I never have to open the spotify window. I just control everything from the keyboard while I’m concentrated on my work. Spotify will just show you a tiny window with the songs you are cycling through when you control it through the keyboard. Everything has a premium feel to it. Turning the LEDs off when I go to bed takes a press of a button. I only have one gripe with this keyboard. People mentioned in other reviews that there’s a metallic sound when you’re typing, as if something’s hitting a metal plate inside the keyboard’s frame. It’s very true, especially for the space bar. For a heavy typer like me, it was very noticeable at first. It has diminished considerably over time — I only hear it every now and then. I’m either used to it by now or beating this keyboard into submission with the way I type. All in all: 10/10 would buy again.

    Logitech Gaming software is clunky and hard to navigate. It’s poorly designed to say the least. If you have a lot of games like myself and want to create profiles for everything you have to deal with this itty bitty tiny little box that displays a handful of profiles at a time. Why not just put the list on a large box on the side of the interface? It’s honestly ridiculous. I attached a picture because I can’t get over how ridiculously small it is. Worse, the LED lighting control is _FAR_ behind their competitors such as Corsair and Razer. When I say behind, you get about 5 effects that have very little customization. Compare it to Corsair and Razer which both have an infinite number of customization options in their RGB software. Logitech’s software is no where near what you can do on competitor products as far customization goes. For the price of this keyboard I was extremely disappointed. I’m not sure who heads their Software Engineering and UX departments but there is a serious lack of ambition and direction when it comes to their software. I can’t stress it enough. Someone should be fired and they need to go back to the drawing board. Logitech, take a look at Corsair and Razer’s software interfaces for a hint. Please. However, the keyboard itself (hardware) is top notch quality, so I kept the keyboard. Logitech does make good hardware. But their software and UX department’s are living in 1995. In the future I’ll be going with a competitor because the software is that bad.
