   Really not happy with this keyboard after a year of ownership. The keys keep breaking, and Razer customer service is not very easy to deal with. The keycaps aren’t true Cherry MX, the little “+” mounting interface isn’t supported properly, so after a year’s worth of gaming use, the plastic starts to stretch out and the keys starts falling out during use. I have now had a total of 5 keys fail. As things stand, I will probably never buy another Razer product.

   If you are PRO-gamer, then buy this keyboard. If you are like me, a casual gamer and want to type on the keyboard sometimes, look at the DeathStalker expert gaming keyboard or other brands’ mechanical keyboard. I don’t like this product for two reasons: – The key makes loud noise when typing yet they advise this as a stealth keyboard. I understand mechanical keyboard makes louder sounds than regular keyboards but I thought they made some improvements to this one to reduce the loudness of mechanical keystrokes. Nop. This stealth version is same as my friend’s non-stealth version. I can’t stand the typing noise so I return this one. – Letters types on this keyboard is horrible to read. They switched symbols and numbers on numbers keys. It throw me off. They made it worse by not light up symbols on all keys. WHY? I don’t understand why they mess with the letter types to make them so hard to read and leave some part of the keys unlit. It makes no sense to me. Razer, please do some research on letter types and layouts for your next keyboard… Bottom line: This is a good keyboard when I played LOL or other games with it, but this keyboard is not type-friendly. For me, a keyboard has to at least perform its basic job flawlessly. This keyboad is too much a hassle to be used as a my daily keyboard.

   Unbelievably perfect! I’m coming from the Cooler Master CM Storm Quickfire TK (tenkeyless) and its like night and day between the two keyboards, even though their price is relatively the same! The Quickfire was extremely loud (in comparison) and tacky looking and such an enormous undertaking to adapt to using a tenkeyless keyboard. The BlackWidow Ultimate Stealth Edition is like a hallelujah for me. It is beyond perfect. The keys and keyboard itself feel buttery smooth in terms of texture and feel. The keys are insanely quiet and feel perfect. And the keyboard itself; wow! You can really see, feel, and *HEAR* the quality! By all means, BUY THIS KEYBOARD! You can’t go wrong. And with the return policy, what’s to lose but a little time?

   This keyboard works as expected and has good aesthetics. I never write reviews on go-keyboard.com, but the reason I am writing this and giving this keyboard 5 stars today is because I just experienced the following: At some point this morning, my 2.5 year old boy dumped a large quantity of an unknown liquid into this keyboard. This keyboard has an outer shell, which, I found out today, is water tight on the sides and bottom. So the keyboard was literally filled up like a cup for around 8 hours while the computer was on. When I noticed the liquid, of course I freaked out and pulled the power. I assumed the keyboard was completely borked but set it outside to dry, just in case (I live in AZ and there was a high of 114F today). When I tried to correct the problem, some of the liquid spilled out of the keyboard and onto my vid card which is bricked. BUT THE KEYBOARD STILL WORKS! I am typing this review on the keyboard right now and somehow it managed to survive the ordeal with only a few key lights not working. Every key works. This is the best keyboard ever manufactured. See photo of the should-be damaged keyboard. When I purchased this thing, I thought I was getting a pretty input device for a good price. What I got was a trackless tank.

   I have owned and used my blackwidow for 3 years now. Great product, very rewarding audible clicks, even years into its use. i use it for gaming, school, and all my typing on pc. after must have been 10’s of millions of clicks and 1 really bad mountain dew mishap, it is still working flawlessly to this day. for those gamers who drink around their pc’s a little advice.: i spilled mountain dew on my blackwidow and i thought the world ended. i quickly unplugged it from usb, flipped it upside down on a towel to drain it, then proceeded to disassemble, wash and clean each part (i fully unscrewed it and removed each key) and after washing and cleaning it i let it dry with 2 fans on it all night, reassembled it in the morning and voila, it still works, every key, not 1 mistype or double entry mistake. i must say one of the best built keyboards ive had the privilege of owning. will only ever buy razer products.

    Great keyboard for gaming! I am a youtuber and the silent keys are perfect for little noise while recording. I was going to get the chroma version but I don’t think it has the option for silent keys (plus I would not spend money just to get rainbow keys lol). Overall this is a great keyboard. If you are hesitant on buying this, don’t be I promise you won’t regret buying it! 🙂

    Great keyboard, I like these orange switches. Got it on sale for $100, can’t really beat that. If you’re looking for a mechanical keyboard that isn’t so loud, this is it. A friend of mine had a 2010 version one or around there. I had to get one after using it, even though the key switches are by Razer now.

    This keyboard is exactly what I was looking for. The build quality seems very solid – not cheap nor fragile; The back-lighting is variable intensity including the possibility to turn it off completely which is a plus if you want to extend life expectancy when it isn’t needed or make the room entirely dark (My previous keyboard did not have backlit keys so it was not usable in the dark and eventually the lettering on the keys wore off which won’t happen on this keyboard since the symbols/letters ARE clear windows to the backlighting); The green lighting on black body is very nice looking and not overly obnoxious or multicolored – it is just enough to function for its intended purpose without distracting your eyes. I haven’t configured the macro keys as of yet so I can’t comment on them but I like the fact that they’re available for future use. It is also slightly less annoying to have my headset plug in to the right side of the keyboard rather than the front of the computer itself IMO. Overall the keys have a fairly high pitch angle from front to back which personally works out well for me – in other words, the number keys are fairly higher off the desk than the space bar. It contains a number of alternate function keys for controlling music and volume, etc… And finally – since this is a mechanical keyboard, there is a nice amount of resistance to key presses. The only potential drawback is that it is pretty noisy to type on. This is the direct result of the “clickiness” of the keys … but that comes with the territory of using a mechanical keyboard And I suspect if silence is a feature you’re looking for in your keyboard you should not be looking at most/any mechanical keyboards. I would (and have) recommended this to others for purchase. Actually one more potential caveat – it uses two USB slots on your computer – one for the main connection and one as a pass-through to the USB port it offers on the side of the keyboard. Since I was already using a USB keyboard and an additional USB slot for my headset previously, I haven’t readily lost any ports. If this is an issue I am sure you can forgo the pass through USB connection and just use the single I/O USB wire for connecting the keyboard itself.

    The only criticism I have is that this keyboard is very loud even though its the “Stealth” of the Black Widow series.

    The only thing this keyboard is missing as far as the sound of it goes, is the clicking that its counterpart makes. Other than that, they keyboard is brilliant, very responsive and I couldn’t be happier with it.

    I look forward to using it for a long time to come.
