   See picture. Bought it in June of ’21. Normal usage. The shift key is the worst, but the A and S are also wearing off. Contacted support and they say this is normal wear and tear and not covered under the warranty. Won’t purchase another Razer product, that’s for sure.

   I purchased this keyboard exactly 1 month ago with the purpose of gaming. Took me a week to get use to but finally got use to the keys placement. While I do love this product, it certainly has some issues. After only a month of use, one of the keys started to lose its color and light is now exposed through the crack. This isn’t really the ware and tare I expected after only a month of use. Additionally, the app used to control the keyboard lighting is a tad bit finicky.

   Razer does make a good keyboard here. For $60 this was a very reasonable buy. Before buying this keyboard, I spent around $150 wanting to try out a mechanical keyboard, but the experience was awful (see my review on Corsair K70 RGB MK.2). I do a lot of computer stuff. I work on the computer. I game on the computer, and I write and type at 110+ words per minute. Safe to say I am GOOD AT USING A KEYBOARD. This bad boy gets 12+ hours of abuse Every. Single. Day. and is great for everything that I do. After a year of use, the keyboard still feels like it is in very good shape still, so I’m adding my 5-star review to mark this product as world-class. I’ve taken a photo of it after a year, and here are the flaws that I’ve noticed, most of which I don’t care about. – The keycap paint fades away after some use. See photo. – The backspace key started out a bit squeaky. Seems to have gone away with some use (was worrying at first). – The software is not great. The RGB mixing leaves something to be desired. Software feels bad/unstable in general – but really, run of the mill with modern day software. So long as the keyboard types, it’s OK to me. I just use a dull RGB scheme anyway where the keys light up when I type. The backlight also helps me spot dust and hair to remind me to clean it (major plus!). – The volume buttons are a little awkward to click (but the media keys work well enough, and I need my media keys). My last Razer keyboard offered a similar experience, and it took several years WITHOUT cleaning before a couple of buttons started to get stuck (but they still worked! :). Overall very good keyboard for its price. Highly recommend!

   I am disappointed in the quality of this keyboard. I had high hopes for Razer due to their reputation. Whatever they use to denote the keys is wearing off after only two months of regular use. I reported to Razer and they said this is normal and not covered by the warranty. The keyboard still functions. It just does not look like it should in my opinion. I have had this happen to other keyboards but not until after a couple years of use.

   It’s a pretty solid keyboard. The keys are quite quite and they feel pretty good to use. The only thing is that they’re quite smooth, making it a bit difficult to keep a grip at times. Fingers tend to slide to another key at times when playing a game or typing. The media keys are a nice feature. I listen to a lot of music, so it’s nice being about to control everything from the board and not having to mess with any software. The RGB backlighting is pretty cool too. Lot’s of different combinations you can come up with using Razors software. There are some limitations, but nothing you can’t find a work-around for. Last thing – the cable routing on the bottom of the board. It’s a small thing, but I still like the convenience it adds. The cable itself is pretty solid too. Doesn’t feel like it will pull out if it gets yanked on.

    Came in an go-keyboard.com box, loose, and wrapped in bubble wrap, not the actual packaging from Razer. Will not work, computer doesn’t recognize the device, despite the correct drivers being downloaded. Wireless and other wired keyboards hook up just fine.

    While I like the keyboard a lot from a general office/gaming use perspective, one issue I find extremely dissatisfying is that the keys are not double-shot molded, and under even moderate office/gaming use, the C and S letters on my keyboard have started to flake off, leaving large, extremely unsightly defects. As a side note, this is a membrane keyboard, and that apparently implies its keycaps are considered ‘non-replaceable’, and thus doesn’t allow for/fit the Razer replacement double-shot keycaps. I am considering reaching out to Razer for warranty coverage. The second highly dissatisfying thing about this keyboard is that Razer, in a dubious cost-cutting measure, removed any on-board memory from the keyboard, meaning that to set the colors to non-RGB-cycling requires the Razer Synapse app to be always installed/running to stop the keyboard from forever rotating through the RGB colors. While the overall effect is slow paced enough to not be nearly as annoying as I expected, it’s still a glaring omission to what could have been a much better customer experience. The amount of on-board memory for such color profile storage cannot have been more than many microcontrollers just come with natively, so it’s a dubious penny-pinching move.

    For the cheapest one of the new generation of razer keyboards, I’m glad with my purchase after being undecided for a keyboard, surely it’s not top state of the art in keyboards, but you get a reaaaally good product for a quarter price. I like its silent BTW, notice it’s a membrane and not a mechanical one which helps and it has been fast enough for my ARPG games and my general typing experience. Software for RGB lights is kinda complicated but there are several presets to just choose and use. Good keyboard, if you’re on a budget, this is one good way to go.

    Purchased this keyboard end of March, not even 6 months later the keys have faded pretty bad. When I called support to explain the issue, their response is Its Normal Wear and Tear. I DONT THINK SO. When I asked if I could purchase Keycaps to replace, they say they do not have any. I would expect a company as large as Razer to be able to provide support for all their products that are still being sold.

    I like some of the features but honestly I hardly use them. I wanted an RGB keyboard that wasn’t loud. This works well. The price was good too. The windows software can be set up to do a lot of cool things but honestly it takes an hour or two to get it all set up. Windows is a secondary OS to me though so If you’re wondering if OpenRGB supports it on Linux then I’m happy to report it does, it even lets you customize each single key light. Paired this with the Razer Basilisk V3.

    Let me preface this by saying I am a huge Razer gaming fan and I own quite a few Razor devices. I am currently using a Razer Tartarus gaming keypad and a Razer Basilisk V3 gaming mouse. I like the customization options and the devices – up till now – have all been a good investment for me. Up until Aug of this year, I have been using a low end Razer keyboard – the Ornata. My last one lasted me almost two years. It was time to replace it because a couple of the keys had started sticking. I decided to upgrade a little to a Razer Cynosa V2 keyboard. Since my wife wanted to change over to a Razer keyboard, we got one for her too. I ordered the first one Aug 16th. It was glitchy as soon as I hooked it up and it failed completely two days after I hooked it up. I went through the go-keyboard.com Return process (and mind the fine print – on this device, UPS requires YOU box it up to ship back), and then ordered a replacement Cynosa. Inside of a month, the faces of a number of keys were already wearing off. Five months later, two keys are unrecognizable and a number of other keys are wearing off. This is unacceptable for me. Even the cheap gaming keyboards last MUCH longer than this. I am also having a problem with a couple of keys not activating when I use them. I am extremely disappointed with this keyboard and will not be purchasing it again. I am going to replace it with another Ornata (I wish I could afford a better one, but it is what it is). Hopefully that one will last as long as the last one did. This is not a good look for you, Razer.

    Bought this keyboard less than 2 months ago and already the paint has worn through on 8 of the keys. Now granted these keys were repetitively used while gaming but it’s a gaming keyboard from a gaming company, the keys should not wear out this fast. Now i have to buy new keys or start looking for a better company to get a quality keyboard. Don’t waste your money on this if you are going to actually game on it.

    I’ve been using this keyboard for less than 2 weeks, and already the markings on the keys are disappearing. It appears the keys are coasted in a plastic/rubber coating that does not last long at all. The black coating comes off super easily and then it’s just another nameless key. This is very disappointing for an expensive name brand keyboard.

    Save your money and buy an alternative brand. Literally less than a week and the paint was already flaking right off, and this pic is after less than a month of use. It looks like trash! My wife and my son both have the Cynosa V1 and this has not happened to them, so I’m assuming Razer went ultra-cheap on the production of the keycaps. This household has had dozens of keyboards of various manufacturers and price ranges over the years, and I have never had paint flaking off of keys after a few weeks of normal use. I expected more from Razer for build quality, even on budget-friendly products like the Cynosa. I am one of those odd gamers that prefers the soft membrane feel, and this keyboard should have been my last keyboard purchase for awhile. Instead, it appears I’ve flushed money down the drain. I don’t expect Razer to do anything about it, but here’s to hoping.

    Keyboard ;looked and works great out of the box. I noticed after 6 months of daily use, the keys started fading. Talked with support and they only cover manufacturer’s defects and a lack of a decent paint doesn’t count. No replacement keys for this model. Move to a different keyboard, do not waste your money on this one.

    It’s louder than I’m used to, and the keys started having the black wear off after only using it for a couple weeks. I’ve purchased a lot of Razer products and I’d have expected better from them. The lighting also doesn’t have a default option for solid stand still rainbow, you have to create your own. Not a huge issue, more of a “heads up”

    The Razer keyboard line seems to be a lot less durable than they used to be, I have 9 keys with wear marks on a 1 month 15 day old keyboard. I tried to get Razer to provide warranty support thinking this is insane this can’t be normal, but I had their support staff tell me cosmetic issues were not covered by their 2 year *limited* warranty, and have a nice day. Really? I won’t be buying any more Razer products. That’s for sure Don’t buy this, find another famous brand gaming keyboard for your kids or husband to use, these aren’t worth the time and effort. I bought this because of a recommendation from a friend, she liked it, my old other brand keyboard finally died after 2 years, It was a gift so i didn’t realize it cost more than the Razer, but now I see why, it was made a heck of a lot better!

    Pros: This keyboard has very nice lighting and tech features, along with two sets of feet in the back to give a couple tilt options. The media center is in a nice spot too, with everything being grouped together. For those who prefer a quieter keyboard, this delivers. Cons: In the picture I show that the shift key is peeling paint along with the bottom of the Q, this is after 4 months of use and I expected a bit better than that. Along with the keys themselves being a good bit stiffer than I’d expect after break-in, every key has interference with eachother, meaning if your finger does not press exactly straight down it will hang the key against the one next to it, requiring a lot of force to press it down. The old keyboard I had was the one that came with my pc 3 years ago from cyberpower and it was a lot better in core function, I would have went back to using it over this had my roomates cat not sprayed it. Summary: A very nice amount of tech, but sadly it gets cut down in the core functions of the keyboard, I would not recommend getting this one as the cross-key interference significantly effects your ability to move and preform actions while gaming, until they fix this by either redesigning the keys or giving them dedicated sockets, avoid this board.

Many different kind of themes and you can download a few from Razers website. Finally volume control feels good but that zone of the keyboard has no rgb light.

    I have this as an external keyboard for my laptop when I use it on a stand. I figured what the heck, I’ll get something with some cool lights in it this time around. Functionally, it works just fine. While the timing isn’t always fantastic, I do appreciate that it gets regular updates for the software that controls all the extra features. The audio keys just automatically work with whatever I’m using on my laptop without any fickle setup to deal with. The molding on the underside that allows for routing the cable in different positions is nice and really something that should be on EVERY keyboard. It’s completely extra for me, but the lighting and effects are pretty cool. That being said, there are a couple of aspects I find very lacking. For a US-English keyboard, several of the punctuation keys are backwards when it comes to lowercase versus shift. I’ve never personally encountered one like it before, and I’ve had computers since the 80s. It’s kind of weird, and it often trips me up, because I do have to use other laptops and desktops often that have what I’ve come to see as “normal” punctuation keys. Whatever they’re using to paint or coat the keys with is absolutely pathetic. Within 2 months, a lot of it had worn off of multiple keys. If I didn’t have touch-typing hardwired into my brain, I’d be lost; there are some keys now that are practically unidentifiable as to what letters they’re supposed to be. I’ve had this keyboard for just over a year now, and it keeps getting worse. For the cost, I’d expect much better. My last laptop was nearly 9 years old, not a single bit of paint had worn off the keyboards, and I’m a writer who probably types a bit more than the average person. I’ve never had a keyboard get this bad in that respect even after YEARS of use. I keep my nails super short, so this isn’t a problem I created.

    I love the feel of the keyboard, functionality works as advertised (though I am disappointed that they no longer produce one with underglow like the v1 pro), but I am even more disappointed in its durability. I do not play FPS games at all but I do play an MMO (which also uses WASD). It has been exactly 1 month Since I purchased it and already the coating on the “S” and “Alt” keys is wearing off.
