When you need a single-hand keyboard controller unit (gaming or otherwise), this is perfect. I customized all of the keys and then wrote the customization down on a piece of paper on the wall – not for gaming, but for programming. For me, it really only worked well with one key plan – because it just becomes too hard to remember and train your fingers when you have multiple key plans.
I only use this at my standing desk, but that’s not infrequent. The palm rest works as a core part of this unit, and it works well.
The fact that it saves your settings (i.e., your key customization) automatically over the internet so that you have it on any other computer in the future is key. I would not use it otherwise as I wouldn’t want yet another thing that’s a hassle to set up every time you’re on a new computer. But it does have automatic cloud back-up, so it’s a great unit.

I used it all the time. The adjustability of it helps to fit my long slim hands during gaming sessions and keeps away those dreaded cramped claw hands that you can get with some other less ergonomic pads. I supposed I would prefer the stick be an actual analog style joy stick instead of a hat pad but it works alright.

In this review, I’ll go about the pros and cons that I found on the razer orbweaver 2014.
First of all, it is definitely a nice product. It’s hard to get used to, but when you know where you macros and key shortcut are placed, it can improve your game.
When I bought it, I tough about using it for FPS, since the analog on the side looked like a thumbstick from a controller. But it is not a thumbstick, it is a 8 direction pad which you can use for shortcuts in game like WoW and mobas.
The ergonomic of the orbweaver is fantastic and long gaming sessions are no problem at all. I guess you can use the orbweaver for something else than gaming, but I only used it for that.
Even if I like the product, I find it a bit overprice for what you get. I mean it is the price of a normal mechanical keyboard after all.

This is not for everybody, and I honestly can’t say if a keyboard would be better, but I hated the fact that a keyboard doesn’t really fit your hand, it has no special form like a controller would for example. This solved the issue I had with keyboards. If you do decide to buy this, BUY AN MMO MOUSE. I have one, and I don’t think I could play most games with the Orbweaver without an MMO mouse, it just doesn’t have enough buttons.

Got this to replace my Logitech G13 after it died. Honestly the G13 is half the price and far superior as it has a limited but useful LCD, a joystick/mouse thumb stick that suits my needs as I am not very fond of WSAD controls and I would say the layout of the Orbweaver is overall less efficient. Also it does have multiple presets, but unlike the G13 doesn’t have dedicated buttons for changing presets or an LCD to tell you what is what and actually has 2 less buttons on the main pad. The configuration software is very good, though you need to register and be online to use it and may be a tad better than the Logitech software otherwise. It does have a very good construction and is adjustable though, and I’m hoping it lasts longer than 2 and a half years, though if this breaks or an upgraded G13 comes out, I’ll likely buy that. It is also a tad smaller and lighter than the G13 if you care about that and is backlit, though unlike the G13, unless you pay more for an already overpriced device, you are stuck with neon green. All in all most of my issues are a preference to the features of the G13 and the Orbweaver being well over priced, it is a very well constructed and thought out piece of equipment and if it were about $80 like the G13, I’d certainly recommend it, though if you want to shell out the extra $80 go ahead.

I bought this to replace an aging Nostromo N52TE. This unit is an improved version with mechanical keys and an extra row as well.
I have been using these since the original N52. It is the perfect accessory for FPS games to me. This particular unit is more adjustable than the predecessors and fits my hand well. It took a day or two to get used to it. The layout is a little different but not enough to cause issues. I do like the clicky keys. They are a bit loud, but with headphones on I don’t notice. Tactile feedback is good and snappy. You definitely know when you press a key. The only wish I had was this it came in RGB so that I could make it match all the blue stuff on my system. You can switch off the lights so there is that option…
I use the D-pad for movement. I have seen others complain it is too sensitive but it hasn’t been a problem for me after about the first 5 minutes.
A little on the pricey side, but what gaming product isn’t these days?

Great product but had an issue with Razer Synapse. You have to use Razer Synapse for this and can’t use a stand alone driver. Razer Synapse tends to give a plethora of problems.
