   Compared to the stock red linears that came with my keyboard (Jerzzi Red) these RK Lemon switches are slightly heavier (rated +5gf higher), feel quite a bit smoother (almost creamy), and have a crisper clack to them when typing. The space bar feels especially nice with these switches.

   I really liked the little translucent box the switches come in, opposed to just a plain bag, or a small tub like I’ve seen before. I also like the fact they came with a keycap/switch puller in case you don’t have one.

   There is no spring ping on any of the switches, however the factory lubing is slightly inconsistent. Nothing horrible, but a couple of the keys do feel slightly different compared to their companions.

   Like any switch without a fully white or clear case they do tint the backlight of the keys the color of their housing.

   At the time of this review, these switches are on sale for 50% off. I’ll say right now, if that sale is going on then buying these switches are a no brainer! These are very smooth linear switches with a nice sound to them. There is a bit of stem wobble so I think these would benefit with some film. I can’t tell if these were factory lubed, becuase I didn’t open them up, but these are really smooth right out of the box. The bottom out feel was also very nice as well. I love the look and the colors used here although once you get your keycaps on you really aren’t going to see these very much. The clear top makes these a good choice for RGB keyboards. LOVE that they come in a nice hard plastic case. No damage whatsoever to any of the switches. I wish more switch makers would use cases/packaging like this!

   Coming from someone that has just dipped a big toe into the world of customizing keyboards, and after almost a week of doing a crap load of research. I ultimately Chose the Lemon Yellows over Akko.

   So far after installing them, and a whole 8 hour shift at work…. These switches are foraminal. They definitely “THOCK” and sound amazing, and the packaging is fantastic.

   I have been using a Razer Chroma for the better part of 2 1/2 years, and this has opened my eyes to amazing quality and sound. For the price and quality, 100% recommend.

   These come with a double sided tool to remove existing keys and easy to change out. You have to have a keyboard with interchangeable keys or these won’t work for you. One of my sons likes the clickier/louder the better. And my other son likes to switch them up. He also stays up late gaming so it’s nice that he can make the keys quiet with these.

   In a side by side comparison between my red switches, I had a lot of trouble being able to tell them apart once lubed properly. That being said, reds are my go to switch most of the time and pretty much default in a lot of boards. They are definitely high quality, so if you’re looking to upgrade from a cheaper red or maybe switch from tactile to linear, this is a nice switch that will last you a long time. I’d recommend these for someone who fits that criteria; however, you can get a few other switches with a similar feel for significantly cheaper. (assuming the sale is no longer available) The colorway is honestly very clean, so if that’s a big factor for you, it may be worth the price increase when compared to similar switches. They are vibrant in person and RGB from backlighting travels well through the transparent parts.

   I really like the color scheme of these switches. The clear top allows RGB to shine through these without any issues and I didn’t have any issues with north facing LED’s on one of my boards that have Cherry profile keycaps. I picked up the 45g weight springs and they’re fairly smooth out of the box. The stem wobble is about the same as I have seen in Gateron Milky Yellows. If you take the time to film and lube these switches they do produce a switch that is really nice and smooth. Spring ping wasn’t very noticeable stock and after lubing that went away as well. Honestly, if these were a little cheaper I’d give them five stars but with so much competition in this space already, I can’t see them being worth it unless you really want a switch with this color scheme.

   The RK Royal Kludge Lemon switches are packaged well. You are greeted with a rigid plastic shell container when you open the package. This container protects the pin connectors well and allows you to reuse it for your other switches. The switches themselves are very vibrant in color and allow the north LED lights to shine through well. They are advertised as quieter than the red linear switches they usually offer with their keyboards. Hoping that they were similar to pink cherry switches, I gave them a try. However, when used in my RK84 keyboard next to the red switches, they were about the same loudness. They are not as clacky but have a more “thock” sound. They sound nicer to my ears, but not really any quieter, which is what I was hoping to achieve. They are a bit more pricey than I would like, as one would have to buy 3 sets to fill my RK84 75% keyboard. I didn’t find them to be scratchy and liked the noise versus the normal red linear switches that RK offers. Overall, a quality set of switches!

   These switches came packaged well. I appreciate that as it meant that none of the pins were bent. The switches were easy to install and have a good feel to them. They are smooth and quiet with almost no sound at all. If you’re looking for switches that don’t make a lot of noise, this is a good set to try.

    First and foremost: a preface. These switches are meant as a replacement or upgrade for mechanical keyboards. Not all mechanical keyboards allow you to replace the switches without desoldering them from the board itself. Make sure to check your keyboard supports “hotswap,” or you know how to disassemble and replace them before you buy them. Past this, the sound profile and feeling you get out of your keyboard mostly come down to what you do to your and the manufacturers do to your keyboard. Simply replacing the switches in your keyboard will not magically make your keyboard better. With all that being said, its impressive what even lesser known brands like Royal Kludge have been able to do in recent years. These switches are no exception, and are very well made and designed. The bottom seems to be made of nylon, and the top clear polycarbonate. The switches seem to be a bog standard mold without any major changes aside from an RK logo on the top housing. The stems are also quite standard, being made of an unknown plastic. The stems are pre-lubed on the rails, but not on the legs or other sides. They do feel much smoother because of it, but not by much. The included spring is once again, a standard spring with no bells or whistles. The packaging is the most interesting thing about this switch though, being a hard plastic tray that holds the switches in place by their plate clips. This makes it very convenient to lube them, though is super wasteful if you need/want to order more in the future. All and all, a decent set of switches, however, they are very overpriced for what they are. at the current $23.99, that leaves them at 68 cents per switch. Currently there is a coupon for 50% off, for 34 cents per switch. Compared to competitors such as Akko and their Rose Red or Radiant Red switches at $13.99 for 45 switches, or 31 cents per switch before coupons, Royal Kludge cannot compete. Akko Rose Red switches have the same springweight, but have nice progressive springs, and Radiant Reds have slightly heavier springs. The only reason why you would buy these switches is because you don’t like Akko, or the colors go with a build you are working on. Otherwise, they are chromulent

    I got these for my 12 year old son. He really likes them. I don’t hear a difference as far as how it sounds when he’s typing, but he likes them. He didn’t like that there were only 35 pieces and you couldn’t do your entire keyboard. Other than that, he likes them fine.

    These are decently average linear switches. The hard plastic case they were packaged in is very nice and can be used as a lubing station for the bottom housing, or a nice switch display case. They are factory lubed, but some were not very consistent, which is fine with me since I enjoy lubing my switches. Stock, they were a little scratchy, but felt and sounded better after hand lubing, if you can tell by my video. I’m tired and didn’t have the patients I typically do, lol. These have the Kaihl style housing, so the standard switch opener I had did not work, but they were easily opened by hand. They are 3 prong, so they should be compatible with most hotswaps. RGB shines perfectly through the top housing as you can see in the pictures, and they would look nice if you have clear keycaps or a low rise keyboard. Overall they’re a pretty solid switch.

    To start I would like to say these were given to me through the vine program, but my review will be unbiased. I have all kinds of different keyboard switches and when it comes to linear these are definitely my favorite. I will admit at first I was a little hesitant these being RK and not a bigger brand like kaihl or cherry, but these are amazing right out of the box. They are factory lubed and they are smoother than my nk creams even after being lubed and broken in. These are 3 pin switches so they are compatible with 3pin and 5 pin hotswap sockets. The spring weight (45g) could be a little stiffer, of course this is personal preference as they are right on par with most switches. They have shine through for rgb, the yellow base does restrict some of the light though. They have a nice popping sound as opposed to a thock. As far as cosmetics they are good looking switches the purple stems are a nice touch. All in all I would compare them to lubed and filmed nk creams with a more pleasing look. They are worth every penny of the price and I would gladly use them as my everyday switches and they have a home in any of my custom boards without hesitation.

    My first linear switches, I’ve tried budget blue switches and RK’s brown tactile switches.
    First the case it comes in is a very nice plastic case that securely holds all the switches and makes it easy to organize the swapping process. The tool included is also appreciated, it is a key cap remover on one side and a switch puller on the other.

    I lubed all these switches before using them. Out of the box some seemed decently lubed and others seemed a lot less lubed. After deciding to lube all of the switches and trying them out, I am amazed at the difference from the RK brown switches. These are extremely smooth from start to finish and have a very pleasant bottom out force. It is worth noting again that I have never used linear switches before so I am not comparing to any other linear switches.
