    While the build quality is good and the case is solid, the switches included are quite wobbly and the keycaps are sharp-edged and hollow. It also sounds very echoy and clacky, unpleasant. Nothing some foam can’t fix but it feels like today, at this price point, a keyboard should sound nice right out of the box. This is also my introduction to split keyboards and what a pain it can be to get keycap sets with the correct kitting; not the keyboard’s fault at all but if you’re looking at one, do consider what kind of caps you might want to put on it – you may be stuck with the originals for a while.

    I just bought this and am a bit disappointed I can’t buy a second for my office immediately, and I’m hoping they come back up in availability or I can find them somewhere else. In any case, this is a pretty good keyboard. It’s a GREAT split keyboard, as I find good ones to be hard to find.

    My only gripes are (1) the placement of the macro keys on the left and the placement of the backtick/tilde key on the right, and (2) the regular keycaps don’t allow the color through them, so it’s preferred to use something else like pudding caps or whatever you can find. Other than those two things, this keyboard is amazing. And I think the key placement is probably resolvable with their software, although I have yet to attempt to do anything about it.

  10. Just a Kinda Smart Guy Verified Buyer –

    The RK Software isn’t compatible for this, the macro keys are hard coded from what I can determine as CTRL-C, CTRL-V, ETC. No ability to to configure the keys that I can find and it’s not even on their site to get support with. I’m hoping they get more support on the software, re-programmable macro keys and other things. After using others RK keyboards that the software supports, I thought this would fall in that category. As for everything else, if you like RK keyboard, this is built the same so it feels like the others. The split is nice but for me I keep hitting the macro keys instead of ESC so I’m constantly CTRL-C when I want to ESC out of a game. Keeping it to see if the software catches up.
    Still love their Customer Service. It’s always appreciated and I bumped them up a star for that exact reason.
