   Pros: – The keyboard is very solid and you can feel it form the weight. – Typing is really comfortable and quiet (mine is red-switch). – Size is compact, good for portability. – Generously comes with four extra switch for replacement. – Rich lighting choices – The light of keys is programmable. Useful for gaming. – Bluetooth connection is reacted fast, convenience when you used it with more than one computers. Cons: – The items is a bit difference from the description in the manual. The mentioned USB 2.0 ports and the dongle parking space in manual are actually not available. – Dongle is separated from the keyboard, so chances to loss it is quite high unless if you are not yet using it. – Personally, I prefer the “Legs” solid attached to the keyboard (See the my another keyboard in the picture) rather than this “Magnetic legs”. The same reason as the dongle and it’s not a good arrangement for people need a portable keyboard. – There is no a independent “End” key, somehow inconvenience for editing. – The “Num lock” provides no function at all (the “Home, End, Arrows, PgUp and PgDn” doesn’t work when pressed the Num Lock. I don’t know why just waste a key space for that. Perhaps because I am using Mac, but no information in the manual. – As above, the “Ins” key doesn’t function as expected with my Mac. Overall it’s a good keyboard and worth for the money.

   Bought this brand new from a friend, box hadn’t even been opened, and right away the 2.4g wireless mode was incredibly laggy and sometimes wouldn’t register any presses at all. The software says no device found, and I learned from reddit that it’s because there is no software for the rk100 pro that has a PID of 0067. On top of that, the dongle is poorly made, so the inside doesn’t fit in my usb ports properly because it’s too tight, and it snapped the tab inside of the port on the front of my case, so that port is useless now. I wish I could get some customer support, but I didn’t buy it from go-keyboard.com, so I’m sure I’ll just get ignored. I was really looking forward to this keyboard, but oh well.

   Pulled the stock switches and the PCB has oil all over it. Check the pics. Ever buy a keyboard where the basic functionality of the keys won’t work until you update the firmware? So you can’t even type the numbers in the model name in order to find said firmware without having another keyboard present? Ever download firmware from literally just Google Drive? And that’s just somehow the accepted way the company distributes files despite having an actual website? And the actual website has dead links? And the file size is too big for Drive to scan it for malware? And the exe isn’t signed by a proper company? And the firmware installation has typos? There’s no proper manual either. You have to figure this out on your own. I honestly still have no idea how to access some of the actions on the keyboard because of this too, for example the volume toggles on F10, F11, F12. My gut feeling says if a company is this sloppy on the software end, they probably didn’t put much care into developing the hardware either. Gonna return this and give my money to a company that cares enough to not cut corners.

   For it’s price, the RK100 can’t be beat! I wanted a good mechanical keyboard that could connect wirelessly and had a numpad as I need to do work and game with same setup. The RK100 fits that need perfectly. It can be connected via USB-C, 2.4ghz dongle, or bluetooth. It has a wide array of RGB settings and can do individual colors as well. Responsiveness when I type is excellent. The CNC aluminum case version is the best if you care about how your mechanical keyboard sounds. It adds a nice deep base to clicks and removes any rattling. I put some foam underneath ti dampen the sound, and swapped the brown switches out for Durock T1s (lubed). I added some brown keycaps to go with my white and walnut theme. It looks and sounds great! Please note, by going for the aluminum case, you lose out on a built in 2x USB-A hub, and a built in storage slot for the dongle underneath the case.

   – Pros: This is a best keyboard I’ve ever owned, it has latency-free 2.4Ghz wireless mode for gaming, Bluetooth for mobile devices, Proper Hot-Swap implementation and a massive 1.0KG+ (2.2LBS+) Machined Aluminum Case! All this luxury for just 80$! (Best Kit). – Cons: At this price point and this product being a “Pro” variant of the normal one, I’d expect for it to come with “Gateron Yellow Pro” or “Gateron Black Pro” instead of Red, Blue or Brown. Keycaps very thin but shine RGB through well. – Conclusion: I give this Kit 5 Stars! It is a great function rich and premium made “Keyboard Kit” for 80$, Why am I calling this a kit ? Switches and Keycaps you will have to replace anyways so yeah. If you don’t plan on putting anymore money in this keyboard, purchase one with Gateron Red switches and lube them. – Note to Company: RK If you are reading this review please rework you line up of “Pro” Keyboards! Price it 10$ more than normal variants but instead of normal Red, Brown, Blue switches make sure to include Pro Variants of these switches along side with “Gateron Black, yellow Pro”. Also a lot more thick keycaps are welcome, ASA profile would be fantastic.

   i swapped the switches and five keys just stopped working. there is no rgb led light and these keys are not working at all. i tried to connect with go-keyboard.com support. they helped but it wasnt enough either. prtsc, pg up, pgdn,del,right keys still not working. i tried to restart the keyboard with holding fn and space buttons. it didnt work. i uptaded the software and it didnt work. i e-mailed the seller of this product and they just said ‘restart the keyboard’. i said i already tried to restart and it didnt work. but they just replied it like this. i guess its just not hotswappable.

    Apenas llega el producto debo admitir que es el teclado mas precioso que jamás he tenido en mis manos, absolutamente increíble, el problema vino al probar lo modos de luz donde me di cuenta que toda la fila inferior de teclas no les funcionaba la luz azul de los elds, lo que significa que si ponia el teclado en modo blanco, se veía amarilla la luz, en modo azul cyan se veian verdes y en modo azul no prendian. Eso fue muy triste!! por que la verdad los colores de este teclado son hermosos. Otro problema fue que compre el producto en descuento + cupon de descuento, por lo que si lo devolvía no me iba a alcanzar para comprarlo otra vez ya que este producto solo tiene rembolso, no tiene reposición. Por lo que son cosas que tendria en cuenta si van a comprar este producto, supong oque si llega en perfectas condiciones es un teclado de 10, pero por mala suerte me toco un producto dañado 🙁

    A programming oddity is trying to use it in wired mode. Plugging in the USB cable won’t allow you to use it in wired mode, even if no other connection is available. You need to manually turn the keyboard “OFF” and leave the switch on OFF, in order to use the keyboard via its USB cable. Otherwise, it will just flash an error message to tell you it can’t connect to Bluetooth (flashing Q) or to wifi (flashing P). I’m primarily using it in wireless mode, and I really haven’t encountered any connectivity issues. Whether I’m typing fast or slow, it seems to pick up almost all the keys I type. It the past two hours, there was only one instance where I was confident that I it a key that did not register on the keyboard. That being said, it is only a couple feet from my desktop and it would be shocking if it couldn’t handle a connection of this distance. The RGB is good, there are many RGB colors, and there are many different options to choose from. So many that I lost count (definitely more than 10) You need to type FN + print screen to cycle through the available RGB backlight options. I wish that the included key caps had some color variation of them, instead of just the plain white throughout. This is a solid keyboard, the case is made of machined aluminum, and it has good weight and feel. I ordered it with brown switches, which I think are a good compromise between red and blue switches. I like the mechanical feel in a keyboard, but didn’t want to go too overboard, so I felt the brown was a good compromise over the blue. No USB hub. Although the included instructions pictured two USB 2.0 ports next to the charging port, the keyboard did not include any spare USB ports (aside from the charging port). A resolved issue was that random unexplained glitches started occurring while I was using this keyboard. However, I’ve realized that the issue was I’m not used to the height of this keyboard, combined with the fact that I was wearing padded gloves and couldn’t feel my palms touching the keys. My palms were hitting the bottom row while I was typing and causing unexpected results. I’ve mostly resolved that by installing the two magnetic feet to angle the keyboard (see picture). Another resolved issue is the “Ins” key. I first noticed that the insert key didn’t work. Well, CTRL + insert is copy, and SHIFT + insert is paste, but there was no way to toggle typing modes. However, I realized the insert key had been disabled on my PC. To re-enable it, I had to go to file/options/advanced/use insert key.

    One of the first things I did was replace SOME of the keys for some from a “Japanese” themed set. The original key caps are great, but I like the colors of the replacements better. In my attached pics you’re seeing the board as I have it on my desk now, and of course I’m typing this review on it. The provided keycaps are excellent quality and the letters/characters are clear so the lighting shows through the keycap, which is nice on a keyboard with the color options this one has. I had no issues with the keycaps provided, I just like the colors and graphics on the set I swapped in. I’m using this keyboard wired. The aluminum casing is really solid but it makes it rather heavy. For me, it’s going to live on my desk so really there’s no reason not to have it wired. I do technical contracting. I’ve been in the IT industry for over 20 years now so I’ve used a lot of keyboards! This is the best one I’ve owned so far! I tried my first mechanical board about 6 months ago. It had blue switches. I loved the tactile bump feel but the click wasn’t ideal. So for this board I chose brown switches, and I like these very well! They have a very slight tactile bump but less switch noise. I DO get the thwack noise of the keys themselves but I still prefer this over the blue switch click. Anyway, I type a lot for work but I don’t game. I want a keyboard that has a number pad, great ergonomics and a good feel while typing. This keyboard checked all the boxes. It’s very comfortable to type on and I don’t find myself dropping letters or mistyping very much. The software seems intuitive and easy to use. I’ve already played around with lighting options and some key mapping. Unfortunately I can’t figure out how to do anything other than re-map single keys to something else. I guess that’s good for gaming. I’d like a way to kick off a macro using two keys, e.g. if I press fn+j then run this macro. If that can be done I can’t figure it out. That would be more useful for me because there really aren’t any keys that I want to just plain re-map to do something else. I want to use the keyboard normally but then kick off a macro using a keypair. This would seem useful as a more business user, like if I hit fn+j then it will run the macro and automatically type “As per my previous email ” then I can fill in the details of whatever was ignored the first time around 🙂 Anyway, all in all this is a great mechanical keyboard particularly for the money. The build quality and solid feel of the all aluminum chassis is excellent and for daily typing it’s the best keyboard I’ve used to date!

    I’ve wanted to have a 96% keyboard for awhile now. Sadly you don’t get QMK/VIA support with the RK100, and it’s a real shame considering what RK100pro offers in terms of aesthetic and quality. But I guess beggars can’t be choosers. 96% and 1800 layouts are not common, especially getting a pre-built with a metal case. Premium boards like the IQUINIX F97 cost around 200+ dollars. Krepublic’s BM980 or YMDK’s Melody96 can be bought for cheaper, but you can’t buy through go-keyboard.com, both require payment for them to be assembled or get a DIY kit and you have to wait weeks for the parts or pay overseas shipping. So the RK100pro is in a prime spot at such a low price point of $89.99 comparatively. Even Keychron’s K4 only comes with a plastic case and no external software support. With the RK100 pro you get a nice anodized silver case, USB-C cable, combine keycap and switch puller and a usb receiver for using the 2.4ghz band. You will not get the 2 USB 2.0 pass-through with the RK100pro, so you’ll have to choose if you want the anodized case or the usb pass-through that comes with the standard RK100. TIP: ctrl+F and type “bit” on the product page will highlight the shortened link to the Google Drive to download RK’s software. Once set-up make sure you are in wired mode so the software can identify your keyboard. The Software will prompt you to update the boards firmware. UPDATE THE FIRMWARE FIRST BEFORE YOU UPDATE THE SOFTWARE. Trust me you don’t want the headache of doing this the other way around. Layout: 96% shortens the standard keyboard layout to the size of a TKL (ten key less) layout. This provides more desk-space. On the other hand the keys are closer together, which can get some getting used to if you’re coming from standard 104 keys. You also lose the dedicated end and scroll lock keys with this board. It took me a day to get used to the smaller layout and I feel more comfortable since that the layout places my arms closer together for typing. Your Mileage May Vary however. Frame: Sturdy anodized silver CNC frame which adds some nice heft to the overall keyboard. Corners are nicely rounded off, and I didn’t find any machining marks on the outside of case. It looks very clean, and is very subtle in low-light. The only faults I can see with the case: A) The provided removable magnetic feet create an obvious contrast to the metal frame casing causing a cheaper look. B) The added height of the case definitely means the keys are higher off the desk. I’d recommend getting a wrist-wrest if you plan on getting this keyboard for long periods of time. C) The space inside of the case creates a very hollow sound when typing even when not bottoming out. Note: if you are planning to add foam to the inside of the case, be aware that the R4 row (row with space bar) is pretty tight. I had to avoid adding foam around the standoffs and leave a lot more empty space than I’d like to avoid clearance issues. BE CAREFUL when removing the pcb and back-plate as the internal usb-c cable is held taught and in an awkward position inside of the case. Wired, 2.4ghz and Bluetooth: The provided usb-c cable is of good quality, not braided, and comes with a removable velcro cable-tie. It’s 6ft in length, so it should be able to reach most PCs depending on the location. Stable with no disconnections when I used it. I’ve noticed some reviews bringing up lag when using the 2.4ghz band and Bluetooth. I had the same problem until I upgraded the firmware of the keyboard, writing this review now on the 2.4ghz band with no issues. NOTE: the usb receiver is a pretty snug fit, and is a pain to unplug. I’m so sorry if you’ve read this too late, I pray for your index and thumb. RGB: Nicely lit, though the LEDs are north facing so that can cause some interference with certain key caps. The White back-plate reflects a lot more of the colors and gives this nice under glow to the keys when in low light. Using RK’s software you can get some interesting lighting effects and reactive lighting to music, and custom ambient effects as well. One con is that the ambient-lighting effects option does not stay in memory when switching to wireless mode. Macros, custom function of keys, custom static lighting effects however do. Switches: These are standard Gateron Switches, and I got the Gateron Linear reds. A little scratchy to be honest, but that isn’t something a little SuperLube or plastic lube can’t fix. If you don’t want Gaterons, the hotswap switches are compatible with MX style switches, so you can get pretty creative with different switches in each slot if you want. As for me, I went with a Gazzew Boba Bubblegum, Silent Silver, and U4 Silent Tactile switches. UGLY KEY CAPS: Okay you should have noticed by now that most customers who posted pictures (myself included), changed the stock key caps out. The stock key caps are hollow sounding, add rattle, and have a really thin font. In short, “dang they be uggy”. I got myself some YMDK’s to replace the ugly font and get a gradient color-way. Get yourself a 122 key cap set, and make this keyboard look nice. Final Thoughts This keyboard is at a great price, and with a little TLC can feel more like a premium board. It definitely needs some mods in my opinion: stabilizers come lubed but need to be clipped, I had to balance my space bar wire, and I band aid modded the stabs to get a less thin shaky sound. I’m too lazy to hole-mod anything right now, but I’d recommend it in the long run. Just as an FYI the stabilizers are plate mounted. In conclusion if you want a prebuilt 96% rgb hotswap keyboard under $100 with a metal case and room for modification: You can’t go wrong with the RK100pro.

A little silly it’s not in their website for their most premium keyboard. Update 6 months later, typing in the office every work day. There are serios flaws with this keyboard regarding simple software design. Sometimes my ctrl+alt+del would work and sometimes it wouldnt. Getting simple rgb to work as intinded is not a straight forward proccess. These were issues I had out of the box with this product even after having to contact thier customer service on the RK Royal website to get the correct software because they didnt have it uploaded to thier site. now for the real reason I’m taking this time out of my evening to leave an

    I got this keyboard to replace the ergonomic one my company got for me because it’s keys were too hard to press and fatigued my hands quickly. This one does not do that. It’s a pleasure to type on and the RGB is an added bonus. The colors and patterns are easily adjustable or you can turn it off and not use the RGB. The setup is easy. You can use either Bluetooth, wired, or 2.4Ghz. The included instructions are easy to understand. According to the manufacturer website, the keyboard is 309x103x39mm, or 14.3×6.06×1.85 inches. I got a wrist wrest that was for a 60% keyboard and it works just fine. You should get a wrist wrest if you’re going to be typing on this for any length of time over like 5 minutes because the keyboard sits high. Royal Kludge sells a wrist rest on their manufacturer website, but only for 60%, 80%, and 100% keyboards. There’s no clip in on the keyboard itself and the wrist rest does not attach in any way to the keyboard, so any wrist rest you choose will work.

    I ordered this board and it broke (hot swap socket popped off the PCB) when I was swapping out switches. I immediately contacted the seller and after a few emails back and forth they agreed to send out a replacement. The new board is working perfectly. RGB is nice and bright and there are 18 different preset patterns so there’s something for everyone. Initial testing indicates that the board does not remember all of your RGB settings as every time I unplug / plug in, the lights keep the pattern but not the speed. I plan on using this board wired so I can’t speak to the battery life or the wireless/bluetooth connectivity. The board has a really nice heft to it with the aluminum case though it does sound a little hollow so you’ll want to add some case foam (or some kind of filler). No branding except a small logo on the bottom of the case. I plan on checking out the RK100 next and I’ll definitely order from J-Devol

    Great Keyboard! You actually get more than you’d expect for the price. The Keycaps ate actually pretty good, too! If you’re picky with rattling stabilizers, they’re quite easy to fix with a bit of a bandaid mod. I did that, plus added some foam inside the case, towards the bottom, and lubed all of my Gateron Brown switches (yes, leaf was lubed, too, and it’s still tactile), and I think it sounds awesome.     Overall impression of the keyboard is great. I like the Weight this thing has. RGB are bright, red switches are smooth out the box, and key caps feel good. But only problem I had was trying to use wireless on my PC. Figured out the problem the keyboard is Bluetooth version 3.0 the Bluetooth dongle that was supplied is Bluetooth 2.0. So I wasn’t picking it the signal. I had to purchase another dongle (asus BT500). Got signal right away. I connected it to my iPhone 12 Pro and iPad Air gen 4 no problem.

And it is unfortunate that I really bought it because I needed this function, I already tried everything and it cannot connect, it only remains flashing the letter “P” non-stop, I am a little annoyed by that and that I had bought the RK 68 standard but it only had bluetooth function and it is not functional for what I need, I really got to illustrate why the keyboard is beautiful and for its price it looks very good quality and durability, it is quite elegant by minimalist, I like it a lot, but I don’t want to use it wired in every place I am going to use it, hopefully support can answer me

    I bought this keyboard to mod but honestly it is pretty great as is. I did change the switches and caps and added some dampening but I do that to almost every board anyway. My only gripe is the rgb software but the onboard presets are more than good enough so no star deduction lol. If you want a good reasonably priced keyboard that feels and looks premium this is the one.
