   After much searching, I finally decided to pull the trigger on and RK61. I had trouble finding anything for the price, wired or not. Those devices that were close in price, were wired, didn’t have comparable features, or were simply ugly. Given the price point, I was skeptical, but after several weeks, I can happily report a happy purchase. The only issue I encountered was mentioned in the reviews, there was a very noticeable wobble, as one of the four rubber pads on the underside, was slightly more recessed than the other three. The quick and easy fix was prying up the pad with a knife point, removing the adhesive pad (shown in picture) and adding a couple dabs of hot glue, before pressing the rubber pad back in. I then flipped the keyboard over and pressed gently to make sure it leveled with the other three. Presto, no more wobble, I hope this helps if anyone was on the fence for that reason. Bluetooth range is good, I can easily use the keyboard across the room. Bluetooth compatibility in windows and a recent linux distro has been great, no pairing issues. One quick hotkey swaps between wired and wireless modes. You can easily cycle through the backlight modes, or turn them off entirely. I tend to use a constant glow on lowest brightness, and at least for me it’s not overpowering in a dark room. The swapping between number keys/ arrow key, and their default functions takes a bit of getting used to, but after you adapt it’s not a problem. Check images in customer reviews for the hotkey settings that allow you to swap between. I had an odd issue where Num Lock was enabled by default on delivery. It took me a few minutes to figure out what the issue was, and that there is no way to toggle this setting from the RK61 at least from what I’ve found. Solution for me was a backup keyboard used to deselect the lock. It hasn’t re-occurred, just make sure you have another keyboard handy when you’re setting up. Haven’t used the keyboard for gaming as of yet, but I will update the review once I’ve tested the keyboard for rollover. 5-key is what was advertised, I can attest to at least three, by nature of several hotkey functions built into the firmware.

   This worked very well when connected to my XBoxs you can’t use this wireless you can only connect it to the XBoxs this works on many game but some you cannot use this keyboard with is GTA, Over Watch Apex Legends and more some you can use it on Mincarft, Fortnite,Call fo Duty Modern Warefare, Sea of Thieves, the sims 4 bomb crew and more also works on PS4 I don’t use the newest XBoxs I use a XBoxs I bought 6 years ago so any XBoxs works with keyboard and mouse. Hopefully this helps also if you have problems with this connecting to your XBoxs or PS4 you have 30 days to return it so instead of going through a hassle if it doesn’t work just return it and buy a different one also the software isn’t working well so get the backlighting color you like before buying and if you want to buy new KeyCaps look for MX Cherry KeyCaps because those are the ones that fit this keyboard.

   Best wireless keyboard ever! I have many to choose from, but I find myself gravitating to this keyboard! It’s the PERFECT size and the lighted keys help me use it at night at home and at work. I’ve received many questions and compliments on it while working and using it at STARBUCKS and PEETS coffee shops. Many who have questions; hear the clicking keys and I tell them all, that it’s nice to get that feedback when working. The battery life is EXCELLENT and being to charge it via MICRO USB helps keep the out of pocket cost to a minimal. Also, I’ve lost several keyboards due to ALKALINE batteries leaking and ruining them!!!!

   EDIT: Few of the keys stopped working completely after maybe a month of infrequent use. Control key became unusable; can no longer use basic keyboard shortcuts (copy, paste, undo…). One of the letter keys also stopped working. Was too big of an interruption to my workflow and cumbersome to use. Would unfortunately not recommend. —————————————— ORIGINAL: Clicking sound from keys is pretty loud. Think my husband finds it a little annoying when working in the room with me (lol), but i personally don’t mind. The lighting underneath the keys is definitely yellow, not the orange advertised in the photos. The light itself is also not super bright. Had color coordinated with other items I ordered so the difference after receiving was a bummer. The wired connector has a built in adapter, in case your system doesnt have USB-C. The bluetooth connector is USB-A only though, so I had to buy a separate adapter for that piece. This item actually comes with a key puller, so if you are new to keycap swapping and that was something that you are interested in, you don’t need to buy one separately. I didn’t realize that and bought one, lol. Overall it works good, and I like it so far. One annoying thing though: keyboard backlighting is only around key edges. The letters themselves do not light up in any way. So can’t actually see super well in a dark room, even if the backlighting is on.

   I bought this board as a budget 60% to switch off of my Anne Pro II with Kailh Box Reds if I was in the mood for some clicky goodness. The product page I think is intentionally vague about “blue switches” because they likely ship with whatever switch is cheapest at the time. I think some have Kailh branded switches, others have their own RK switches, and mine came shipped with Outemu switches. It’s clicky and noisy enough for my needs for when I want to have it. Unfortunately, the single light version, as far as I can tell, does not have software to allow for key remapping. This was my fault for not doing my homework, but the default layout has some interesting thought put into it that I may be copying over to my AP2. A quick search on google finds that there is in fact software for the RGB version of this RK61, so if budget allows, I would recommend springing for that one. Fn+Enter can trigger the arrows to function as the primary layer and pressing the combo again will make the arrows secondary so you can easily access “/?”, alt, menu, and ctrl and hold down fn with your pinky to operate arrows as a second layer. Although it is only a single light, there are some lighting animations available and accessible with the keys on the right as a second function layer. I personally just use the static orange, however. Stabilizers are pretty garbage on space, enter and shift. I’m relatively new to the mech hobby and did not understand what “wobbly stabilizers” were until I felt and heard this board. Although what I have to comapare it to (AP2) is known for having some decent stabilizers. All in all, despite my gripes with it, it’s a decent budget board that gets the job done. And again, if you can afford, I would bump up to the RGB version to allow for more customization with key remapping.

    This is the cheapest mechanical keyboard I’ve ever owned, and it’s my new favorite keyboard. (I chose the RGB one) The build quality is surprisingly good for the price. I see a lot of negative reviews from people who bought the keyboard for use other than gaming talking about bad keymapping, and my response to that is why did you buy a gaming keyboard? If you are a software editor or something (not a gamer) why don’t you get a full form factor keyboard with all the buttons you need, instead of getting a 60% keyboard designed for gaming and then complaining about how it’s hard to access certain keys? For $50 you get awesome looking rgb (the clear switches look great) with backlighting, you get hot swappable switches, and you get three different connection methods through usb dongle, Bluetooth, or wired. Aside from all those features that are objectively good, the stock switches on this keyboard feel great in my opinion. I spent $20 on some hyperx pudding keycaps and now my keyboard looks and feels even better. So, I guess my verdict is; if you play games, buy it. If you want a keyboard for other purposes, I would probably look elsewhere.

    Bought the keyboard when it was on sale with some of my birthday money, it’s a really nice keyboard so far and it’s been very high quality for your money, but I bought the kind that I think can’t have it’s color changed, so instead of the purple back light that I want, it’s orange, also all other reviews have the cable port in the center while mine is off to the side, it’s really good, I’ll just have to look into it to see if I can change the backlight color, hope I don’t have to mod it to change from this ugly orange lol.

    I’ve used the Ducky One Two Mini before as it was my main before this, I wanted to try out some blue switches on a new keyboard without breaking the bank, as well as wanting the bluetooth feature. I love the white minimalistic case on this keyboard, as well as the simple keycaps. For a couple of days I would run bluetooth for random tasks, schoolwork etc., and use the wired connection for gaming and saw no errors. Bluetooth was simple enough to pair and paired automatically upon turning it on, however I feel as if it started lasting less and less time. My personal experience is that I would really only get maybe 2-3 hours out of what I thought was a full charge. Regardless, I ended up going back to wired with using a 180 usb c and routing it underneath the keyboard and under the desk to give it the same look. All in all for the price I think this product is worth it. I love the blue switches as well as the material of the stock keycaps much more than ones that come on razer and other higher end brands. This is the perfect entry keyboard, so long as you are not fully relying on the charge of the bluetooth comparability, I contemplated upgrading the battery, however decided I didn’t want to deal with the latency over bluetooth and would just return to wired.

    I bought this for 50 dollars for my gaming setup, I bought it in white with the linear red switches and then modded it. The modding process cost around another 70 dollars but that was to my preference. If you are a gamer I recommend buying this and then putting in some lighter switches or changing the looks if you want. If you are using this for work use then this stock should be more than enough for your standard. I have seen some people say that 60% just isn’t the right layout for them so if this keyboard seems too small or foreign because of the compact size then I don’t recommend buying it. If you don’t think this is the right layout then I would recommend the TKL boards or the standard full-size layout. Overall if you are a gamer or someone who wants desk space then it’s a good buy.

    I love this keyboard. I’ve only charged it twice since I’ve purchased it (About 3 months), and you can change the lighting. I thought you could change the color of the lights but I don’t think you are able to. I’m planning on buying new switches, I didn’t know the difference in blue or red so I chose the blue switches when I ordered this (Please don’t unless you actually like the sound). The only real issue is that the keys stick sometimes. This might be on my part; my boyfriend plays games and types on it yet he hasn’t experienced any issues, this might be because he types extremely fast whereas I don’t.

    I bought this specifically for Undertale and Deltarune and the keyboard arrow keys are good for it. I was able to beat sans and Jevil twice and the keyboard was very responsive. Eh good purchase and I can use it for other things so yeah good purchase overall. I bought it with blue keys and I didn’t care about the type of keys. I was worried at first so I fired up Badtimesimulator and was able to beat sans successfully with blue keys. I also had custom my keyboard with a purchase I made a while ago of a one hand keyboard. It was a red dragon one hand keyboard and it looked good for the results. Easy to remove and customize keys and key types. The key caps and key buttons were easy to remove and cause no frustration. Good keyboard will use it for other uses.

    PRO * Very affordable 60% Mechanical Keyboard, especially given the Bluetooth connectivity. * OEM Keycaps are actually fairly thick in comparison to other mechanical keyboards in this price point. When measured with digital calipers the factory OEM keycaps were around 1.3mm. (EnjoyPBT or GMK keycaps are 1.4 and 1.5mm respectively). * Keyboard has fairly standard keycap sizes which makes switching to an aftermarket keyset easy and painless. * Surprisingly sturdy build especially given the price point. * On/Off toggle switch for the Bluetooth radio on the bottom of the keyboard. * LED indicator under spacebar for when keyboard is charging. CON * Bluetooth is Bluetooth version 3. However, for general typing use this shouldn’t be an issue and wasn’t an issue in any of my experience. However, if used for gaming you might want to play plugged in via USB to avoid any latency. * As I generally use fully programmable keyboards or keyboards such as the HHKB Professional BT where the Control key is where the Caps Lock key is placed, I’d really like to be able to reprogram the keyboard layout via a desktop application or perhaps via an Android/iOS application such as what is present on the Anne Pro from Obins. This is also true of the arrow key placement as I’d prefer to use HHKB style arrow clusters or at least vim arrow keys (hjkl). IMPROVEMENTS * Would like to see different switches offered such as Gateron Silents. * Perhaps switch to white LEDs as this would be more pleasing and would match with aftermarket keysets better. * See misc improvements or changes I’d personally prefer to see throughout the review. MISC FEEDBACK * The model I am reviewing had a generic Cherry MX Blue switch in it. Normally, I’m not one to use a clicky MX switch as I tend to prefer Cherry MX Silent Blacks (Linears) or Zealios (67g Tactile) or Topre style switches. * Personally, I’d prefer to have paid $5 more to obtain this board with a different selection of switches (Gateron Silent Blacks for linears, maybe Silent Gateron Browns for Tactiles?) over the switches included. * When utilizing the LEDs the Caps Lock key is not turned on by default, unless caps lock is active. I’d prefer to have all keys lit if LEDs are activated and when caps lock is turned ON to have the LED shine a different color via an RGB LED in this switch.

    This is one of the best keyboard for $50. The rK61 has to be one best cheap keyboard. The keyboard come with a charger and key/switches puller. Also the switches sound good but need a little bit of lubing. One of the thing I did with the keyboard is mod it. I recommend putting foam in the case for the best sound and no echo in the case. Overall this keyboard is good beginner gaming keyboards

Still works on wireless, but I don’t like using it on wireless because occasionally it has missed keystrokes.     This keyboard isn’t the best there is. It isn’t the greatest thing you will touch. However it is one of the best keyboards in this price range. I don’t like playing video games, and am not a fan of rgb, so I turned down the brightness of the lights on the keyboard and it works great. I like the feel of the red switches, but it is a little louder than I expected. The function commands are a little confusing and understanding the User Manual is a chore, but once you get past it, the experience of using the keyboard is phenomenal. The Bluetooth feature is extremely useful especially for people who don’t like clutter. I personally didn’t find any problems with Bluetooth connection

    Very sad. Bought this about a year ago and I loved it. I wanted to try some new switches since the blues were becoming to clicky for my taste. Before buying the switches, I went back to the product description to verify that they were hot swappable. I buy the switches and get to changing. After fighting with one for a solid ten minutes, I finally get it out just to find that the pins are soldered in, but not before completely obliterating two of the switches. Now I’m just upset and without an escape key and tab. The keyboard is literally perfect otherwise… 🙁 EDIT: I was in contact with the seller and they informed me that the models before 03/2021 are not hot swappable, but the new version is. They were kind enough to send me the new version free of charge. Awesome customer service and awesome product. 5/5.

    This clicky-clacky little number does a fine job at providing a more satisfyingly tactile experience than your usual Bluetooth keyboard. Lots of reviews (and the product description!) suggest that you need to do some goofy key combos to get normal characters like question marks, but hidden in the manual is this handy paragraph: “Press FN+Shift (shift on the right side of the keyboard), Arrow keys turn into the second function. Press FN+Shift again, arrow keys function recovery.” Not the best translation, but it does mean you can toggle the arrow keys with a simple keyboard combo. I’ve attached a picture of the entire manual for the convenience of other potential buyers. And honestly, I recommend it. This keyboard is a steal at this price. It’s probably not the perfect gaming keyboard and your co-workers will murder you if you try to bring it to the office, but it’s a very functional device that’s a lot of fun for casual use. It also seems to be pretty trivial to customize, with easily swappable keycaps and a whole universe of little nerdy doo-dads to get the typing experience of your dreams. One imagines the more expensive models are even better if you’re trying to be some kind of Pro Gamer or you can’t type on anything less than actual ivory keys hand carved by patient artisans in a foreign country, but for the rest of us, it’ll do quite nicely. Also the whole thing lights up and makes you feel like you’re in a cheap Matrix knock-off movie, which is cool.
