   The apex pro tkl has a very good build quality with no flex and sturdy feel and its surprisingly not even bulky i will make a list of pros and cons.    Purchased this to replace an older Razer Ornata keyboard that my wife was using for light office work and occasional gaming. After using my Apex M750 keyboard, she liked the feel of the SteelSeries mechanical key switches over the membrane switches of the Razer. Even out of the box, with no adjusting, the mechanical key switches on this keyboard are amazing, and I like them much more than even those on my own M750. Typing, surfing, gaming, the Apex Pro excels at all of them. That is why I want one. And, no, I won’t ‘trade’ keyboards with my wife. That’s in Chapter 1 of the book on things husbands shouldn’t do. I’ll get my own someday….

   My first impressions were Wow! This is such an amazing keyboard! But after using it for a day, it some of the keys started getting scratchy. The keycaps were also super cheap since my Anne Pro 2 has double shot pbt keycaps and these have abs keycaps which are not good at all. On the bright side, the rgb is amazing and bright! I wish the product would have included better components since it is so expensive.

It is the best keyboard available as I type this review with no doubt. fast key actuation, really smooth when you press a key, and the best looking RGB light. if you can afford it, go for it because you won’t be disappointed. if you buy it. you have to give it a couple of days to get used to these fast actuation keys but that is something really easy to get used to this jewel.

    Picked this up to replace my failing Blackwidow Chroma. Some of the reviews made me a bit skeptical but I can honestly say this is a great keyboard. Solidly built with very nice feeling keys. They don’t have a definitive click which took a bit of getting used to, but they are very smooth and satisfying to use. The TKL version gives me much more mouse pad space for big sweeping flicks and movement, and after about a week I’ve gotten used to using the number key row.

    The customizable actuation distance isn’t something I’ll see myself messing around with too much, the default distance works well for me. But it might be something nice for someone who likes to mash their keys or wants a very crazy responsive key press. I also read some complaints about they keys being noisy, but I can say that it is at least quieter than my Razer keyboard and could probably be even quieter if you adjust the actuation distance so you don’t need to bottom out the keys.

    Overall this keyboard is a bit pricey, and you may find a comparable option for cheaper, but I think most people would be satisfied with it. I recommend it.

    It’s frustrating to have such a good feeling keyboard ruined by cheap LED’s or soldering. At around a year of owning this keyboard, my K, F11, and PG UP key LED’s have failed. After some digging, it is a very common issue people experience. Conveniently just as the warranty expires. It’s a shame because the keyboard itself is solid with it’s aluminum casing. The keys feel good, the key switches are a little loud and clacky, but I enjoy them. They provide great feedback if you don’t mind the noise. But again, the LED’s are a deal breaker, its unacceptable just a year after I purchased it. You’ve been warned, I recommend finding another keyboard.

    It arrived broken, the magnets on the wrist holder were in attached to the product. Also I use the K860 ergonomic Logitech and when I use this keyboard if feel a lot of pain after 20 minutes. But seriously it arrives broke??

    The big APEX PRO TKL keyboard is too bad for me why? I bought it 190 dollars in an emotional keyboard, and I was there when it was delivered to me after a month of use I began to notice a slight discoloration in some keys, I did not worry, another month passed and the key continued like this until the keyboard was completely blue and the key turned yellow and red turned purple turned blue and the whole row is starting to fade I don’t know what to do I already wrote to STEELSERIES to tell me what to do I did everything and the problem persists I don’t know what to do by myself I want this problem fixed whether I get a new one or get it fixed

    I’ve used most of the top rated keyboards before like the Steelseries M750, Razer Blackwidow v2 (green and brown switch models) and the Razer Huntsman (red optical). Just those three are well respected keyboards and get a lot of praise for how it is they are built and what they offer. I’ve played FPS games for years now so I tend to notice and look for if a new tech product gives me an advantage in my gameplay. Besides that I’m also a full-time engineering student so I find myself typing reports frequently. The switches in this are linear so they don’t have a tactile click or bump but instead a smooth keystroke. This is perfect for fps shooters as it allows for faster and better feeling key presses. I tested this keyboard in all my favorite shooter games, the main one I play is Apex Legends. While games like Valorant are more Aim heavy, Apex is a movement heavy game so you are using your keyboard more than your mouse at times. The lowest Actuation setting which is 1 (0.4mm) is very nice for those quick movements, pulling up your Heals/shield wheel and throwable wheel on Apex Legends. The OLED screen is a really cool feature and actually allows you to change settings without the Steelseries Engine application. Settings like Brightness, actuation, macros. Plus you can have custom messages as the main screen on the display. I’ve seen that it even connects to some games and displays your Kills/Deaths/Assists for games like CS:GO. In terms of my reports, Actuation setting 1 might be too responsive to some. For me perosnally I up this to 5 so I don’t tend to mistype as much and it really does help. The Overall build is really good. I do wish steelseries used Braided cables but it’s not a huge deal breaker for me. I’ve got to say, Steelseries made a Keyboard to suit my school and gaming needs. Not only that but it’s an attractive keyboard and I always get complements and asked what keyboard I have every time someone sees my setup. I did also replace the standard key caps with White ones from HK Gaming. So is it worth getting the Apex Pro? personally, Yes. The price is a bit high for people and i agree it is. But what you get compared to other keyboards such as the adjustable actuation points, the OLED screen, and volume dial make it my top pick in keyboards. Steelseries have done a great job making a very attractive and nice looking keyboard. I already own a full-size Apex Pro but I needed a second one for a second setup. When it came to buying a second keyboard I was looking at every option available. I usually tend to want to get something new or different but I couldn’t seem to find a keyboard that looked or sounded better than the Apex Pro personally. The overall keyboard is just so good and so fun to use and I’m sure if you are on the edge of buying it or fear of not liking it, give it time and you’ll appreciate this keyboard a lot. This isn’t a keyboard that you have to get used to but a keyboard that grows on you. I hope this helps!

    Explanation of my photo before the important part of the review: The x key puts out the wrong color after about 2 years of ownership. The whole keyboard is set to white, but x is putting out a greenish color. Important part: You can go to all the other reviews to learn what is so perfect about this keyboard, so I will not explain details. Well, as perfect as this keyboard was, after about 2.5 years, it has magically started dying on me. It’s hard to really pinpoint what is going on but the keyboard is bugging out and having inputs go into my pc randomly. Even though I have made it go away for a bit by spamming the keys which I thought were the ones being inputted, my keyboard is just not okay to use anymore. I’m bummed because I came to check this order which I made 2.5 years ago and I find that the customer support window for my order has closed 7 months ago. At this point I know they have the new gens out so I don’t think people need to be looking at this version anymore, I’m just writing this review out of how bummed I am about my keyboard. Deep down inside I wish SteelSeries could reach out to me with a replacement.

    I came from a Corsair K95 Platinum (brown switches) that was a couple of years old to this. It seems like ever couple of years the RGB in my Corsair keyboards just up and dies a slow painful death for no apparent reason which is annoying, and that was the case again. I was in the market for another keyboard and I didn’t want to just go and get another Corsair keyboard that will have it’s RGB die again. So I did some looking around for a new keyboard, did my research and decided on this amazing keyboard from Steelseries. I’d never owned a Steelseries product before, but the switches on this keyboard came so highly praised I decided to give it a go. Let me tell you this are the most comfortable, most smooth and buttery switches I’ve ever used. Typing on this keyboard is pure bliss. The keyboard itself is fairly lightweight but it doesn’t move around on my desk at all but it’s fair smaller than my previous Corsair keyboard. The LED’s are very bright and incredibly accurate (so far as I can tell) with respect to color. The keyboard comes with nice feeling PVC keycaps and while I love the font on them, I don’t want shiny keycaps in a year or so. I ended up replacing almost all the keycaps on the keyboard with PBT Doubleshot shine through keycaps. I ended up using the HyperX keycaps for “special” keys and Razer keycaps for just about everything else and I really like how it looks. As far as things I don’t like… I don’t like the cable being not detachable, and I don’t like that it’s kind of thick. I’m pretty sure I know why they did things the way they did them. But I don’t like it anyway. That is a minor thing and on a day to day basis it doesn’t really cause any issues for me. The OLED screen is nifty, as far as displaying useful in game information.. I’ve never used it for that, nor do I think I’d want to. It’s just not in a good place to take advantage of that. That said, I customized it with some graphics I like and that suits me. However it’s extremely useful for setting up macros and adjusting things on the keyboard without needing the software. The software itself is OK, I’m used to the bloated beast that is iCUE (I have a lot of Corsair products in my build) and I’ve gotten used to using iCUE. By comparison the Apex software is fairly basic but it seems to do the job ok.

    I’ve gone through a lot of keyboards. Literally wore the keys right through! This time I took a friend’s advice and took the Buy Once Cry Once approach, so instead of buying a cheap keyboard that would fail quickly I bought this one. It has a magnetic wrist rest that attaches right to the bottom of the keyboard and stays there, unless you remove it. The light colors change, I got used to that quickly. One feature that I use a lot is the volume wheel on the rear of the keyboard, which is great while gaming because you can use it while playing without trying to figure out what keys would do the same thing mid game. I wanted 10 Keyless with individual mechanical keys, and that’s what this one has! It’s also pass though USB, absolutely plug and play with no hassle and no set up required. It’s been 8 months since I got the unit, and no regrets!
