   I liked this mouse when I first got it but then I started to notice some weird sticky glue that would get on my fingers. It first started on the right side pad that is below the right click button. My right ring finger is what uses that area and the pad was peeling away exposing the sticky glue and getting it on my finger. I tried resetting it and after that did not work I just pulled the pad off and used alcohol pads to clean off the glue and let it go without any pad there. That was my fix until the large left side thumb pad starting doing the exact same thing. I included a pic of where you can see the pad sliding down exposing sticky glue that gets on my thumb. It is very annoying and I definitely would not buy this mouse again. I have gotten some good use out of it but very disappointed on how it faulted during its lifespan.

   Fantastic mouse. The bottom is lined with some kind of magic plastic that allows it to just glide across the table with almost no friction. The colors are vivid bright and flawless in that each light is a continuous line with no hint of individual LEDs underneath. The weights allow you to adjust the feel of the mouse to your specifications and it comes with a little rubber case to hold the extra weights. It also goes perfectly with my Steelseries Keyboard (Apex 7)

   A huge improvement over my well-used Rival 310. Despite both using the same sensor, the 600 feels better in the hand and just seems more accurate with no jitter. The feet are of the thin teflon variety which have a surprising amount of friction. Replacing them with ceramic gliders only improved on an excellent mouse.

   Quick Bullets for those who do not have the time to read a page of review. PROS: – The mouse is amazing. The lift sensor works, the two settings of sensitivity work great for us who work on two different computers now we are WFH, it’s comfortable and responsive. Honestly, I have not wanted a new mouse until… CONS: – The rubber pads on the side of the mouse are not attached well. I admittedly use my computer a lot, but it feels like an oversight when the failure mode of the mouse is adhesive for an auxiliary component like a grip pad. – This is extra annoying because it’s the pad that my ring finger sits on when I am using the mouse… More often than not I will grab some loose adhesive and stick to the mouse. CONCLUSION: – The mouse is great, but I wish they used a better adhesive for the pads on the sides. I think super glue will fix it– so I am not docking many stars.

   This mouse worked fine initially. I never did a firmware update or anything else to it (including turn off the obnoxious LEDs). I just wanted a quality mouse. However, after 6 months of ownership, the mouse now randomly stops tracking (other buttons work fine). The only way to fix it is to powercycle the mouse or hold the “DPI” button for 3 seconds to recalibrate. Steelseries refuses to fix or replace the mouse because a third-party seller on go-keyboard.com sold the mouse to me. Well, I’ll replace this CrapSeries mouse with one that performs its most basic function.

   I bought this mouse in May 2020 and it is already falling apart. I contacted SteelSeries and they offered to send me new side pads for free! Yes that “!” is filled with sarcasm. I guess they figure sending my a glue stick and some new side rubber is going to make it all better. I’ve got glue all over this mouse and my hands and fingers every time I use it. I’m not even sure how I would get the existing glue off to put something new on. What a waste of $70.00. This is supposed to be a high-end gaming mouse and the glue is melting from my body heat as I hold the mouse. I don’t game all that often so it’s use has been moderate. Maybe 2 hours a day. Do not buy one of these and form the looks of things their wireless version is exactly the same. Buyer be ware.

    So, I’ve been through a couple mice. Mainly Corsair all which developed double clicking in a little under a year or so. This mouse however… no clicking issues and works just fine!
    My only gripe is the adhesives on the side which came undone relatively quick. SteelSeries did replace it under warranty by sending me two new sides for the mouse. It’s holding up, but the glue tends to get dust stuck to it. it’s been reliable since the day I bought it though. Kudos to them. They know how to make a mouse. They’re headsets on the other hand…. that’s a different story.

    Owned the mouse a little over a month. While I enjoy the mouse, the rubber grips on the side are starting to peel off. This is the first mouse I’ve had in 30 years of PC gaming that has literally started to fall apart. I dunno how I feel about that. As a mouse? It’s one of the best mice I’d had, but… I’m kind of concerned about the longevity of it now. UPDATE: I got an RMA on the defective rubber adhesive and the new replacement pads came in. While they seem better, there’s spilled adhesive glue on the outside of the pad. I can live with it, but I just feel like the QA leaves a bit to be desired here. UPDATE 2: The replacement rubber pad is already peeling off. It lasted a few days. I think I understand why SteelSeries openly sells replacement parts for this mouse on their site. The quality of the adhesive on these pads is absolutely TERRIBLE. I thought I got a dud. Alas. =/ UPDATE 3: I’m already on my third (and last) set of replacement side panels. The build quality on these panels is poor. You can tell this is an obvious problem because Steel Series directly sells replacements for this panel. They know. If this last set doesn’t hold I’m kinda over this mouse. I’ve paid $50 just to replace these, and trying to DIY a fix has been messy.

    Used this mouse for about a year after switching recently. The mouse works fine in terms of tracking, it looks nice, and has a good grip. However, I have a major complaint that really knocks the score down for me. The biggest issue I had with my mouse was the build quality. After a couple months, the adhesive that holds the grip pads to the side of the mouse started to melt off around the edges of the pads. This adhesive makes the pad sticky and gets on the hands. This is my main reason for swapping mice. Some other complaints that are based on my preference: I dislike the matte finish on this and a lot of gaming products, they wear out quickly from use. The scroll wheel felt loose after a year. The mouse is pretty heavy even without any of the weights. The wire is stiff, and was annoying to deal with before buying a holder Overall, I feel like this mouse ultimately was not worth the money I paid for it. I am trying a different mouse now. Images show the wear on matte finish (maybe I just have sweaty hands). Like many other reviewers, you can see adhesive seeped out from under the pads and solidified again, gross.

    **Edited x2** Went from 1 to 4 to 2 Stars TLDR – I don’t like it, I wanted to love it, but it let me down. I don’t like the software, Too much hassle trying to get the thing to work properly. Thought I fixed the crashing issue but it happed again tonight. Then spent a few hours trying to fix the software from crashing when I was trying to make different color profiles. It could of been a great mouse, but with all the technical issues, its not worth the price tag. Printed out a return tag and sending it out in the morning. ***Gonna leave the old review if for some reason helps someone*** I’ll get right into it. Fits my hand nicely. I have a strange grip, I think. I don’t really pay attention to how people hold there peripherals. I have a sort of modified claw grip I suppose. Have a slight inverted angle, around 15 degrees counter clockwise. Majority of my hand doesn’t rest on the mouse. Its primarily manipulated by my thumb and ring finger, with a bit of tertiary support from my pinky. Old boxer fracture of my 5th metacarpal set wrong, and its shaped like the end of a hockey stick. Oh, Yeh, I have large ham-hocks for hands. 7.5 inches wrist to tip of index finger X 4 inches across palm to base of thumb roughly. I think they are big anyway. I would guess it would fit best with similar claw grips. Cant speak for palm grips, they never felt right for me. Never payed much attention to how often i lift the mouse off the pad, but turns out I do quite a bit. I have not experienced any unwanted mouse movement with lifting it, so i suppose the extra sensor is doing its job nicely. Clicks feel good, solid, and precise, especially the mouse wheel click. Its oddly pleasurable. Can Manipulate weight (I like heavy mice so I load it up). Installing the 4g weights is a little janky, but once they are in, they haven’t moved. Could offset the weights of sides for more custom feel to it. Weights come in a nice little case that can be wrapped around the cord, so you won’t lose it. It believe stock with no weights its around 100g, which is too much for you “high speed FPS” guys. Comes with 8, 4g weights with 4 slots on each side of the mouse. Cover is magnetic so no tools needed. They stay on good, cant imagine them moving without you wanting them to. Personally I like the weighty mice. Lighter mice I used in the past felt like I would crush it just by using it. Slides across my mouse pad (using an old Razer Vespula,a dual sided hard pad with a wrist rest). Its noticeably more smooth than my old Logitech G500/G600. Could of been of years of use I suppose, but I was not expecting that much of a difference. Considering a fabric pad to ease on the wear of the pads because of this. The Sensor on these Steel series mice are top freaking notch, would recommend them on that much alone. Everything about this mouse is great, even the silly rgb lights. They were not a consideration when I decided to purchase them, but they kind of grown on me. Never really thought about having my stuff match up and customizable lights really help with it. The Software is Janky… its certainly not the worst (looking at you Razer) I have used, but could be better. Its one of my main complaints I guess. Other RBG elements of my Rig don’t play nice with each other and would very much like them all synced up. Not that I have much at this point. Just my keyboard and some fans. If RGB is a big deal for you, you kinda get stuck with one manufacture for all your stuff. Not everyone makes good everything, most have one or two things they do really well. From what I read SteelSeries Keyboards are kinda meh, compared to Corsair’s Keyboards. Their Mice seem to be there thing. I also own Their Arctis 7 Head Set and is pretty decent, good mic. Certainly the best wireless headset I owned. Just seems the the Low bass Ranges seem to be missing a bit. Well that is irrelevant, sorry tend to ramble. The Cord is not braided for some reason. Most gaming mice I picked up were braided. Im guessing its because its removable. Not sure why that is actually, there is no wireless functionality as far as I know. Not really all that big of a deal for me because i use one of them mice noodles..woobies..dongles… whatever the hell they are called, they keep the cord from rubbing and wearing on the desk. Also helps with drag as well. They are cheap for the most part, would recommend getting them, Just can’t seem to recall what they are called at the moment. Think mine is from Cougar..Bunker I think its called. Whatever…doesn’t matter. So Price, its a quality mouse, price still stung/stings, no braided cord, Janky software (still serviceable) are pretty much my only issues with it and they are kinda niggling. Now for the reason I gave it a 1 star rating for a while was because I was having problems with it randomly stop responding. I would have to unplug it it to get it going again. Complete DQ when it comes to gaming mice! Especially the for the twitchy competitive games out there. I did a bunch of stuff to try and figure out what the issue was. Not sure what actually got it to behave. I disabled power management of the USB controllers in the device manager (no reason for them to be on unless your running a laptop anyway). Tried changeing different USB Ports(currently in one of my 3.0 USB Ports) Removed and reinstalled drivers, and Steelengine. At this point, i suspect it is USB driver related, Windows 7 does queer things. I am scrubbing and installing Win 10 on the weekend. Maybe should finally get around to teaching my self Linux, but I digress. I no longer have this issue, again, don’t even think it was fault of the mouse to begin with. If you have similar issues. I would try what I talked about above. Overall would recommend the Rival 600, 4 stars for me is Good. I don’t give out 5 Stars for anything less than God Teir products. Not that do reviews often anyway.’ Wish companies would play nice and make it easier for syncing RBG elements. Not holding my breath on that though, more likely to find some bored nerd on the interwebs to come up with a program. I’d perhaps wait on a sale, but I don’t regret the purchase.     It’s a good mouse, but probably better for people with larger hands. I find it somewhat difficult to reach the side buttons, other than the middle one (My hands are ~19cm long and ~10cm wide). The lights are also very pretty if you care about that kind of thing. It has a good sensor, customizability, a good cord, decent weight, and HAD a nice feel in the hands. Within I think around 6 months the glue that held all the rubber grips on the sides (first the one on the right side and then the other two) began to fail and caused the grips to shift around and rub the glue onto my hands. Not sure if this is because I live in a warmer area so my hands get kinda sweaty occasionally and/or if it’s from just regular use. I had to take off the two side pieces, soak them, and rub the glue off. After this it felt kinda ruined and a lot less premium.

    This is a pretty sweet little mouse. I’m really enjoying using it so far. I almost returned it because of the mouse scroll wheel kind of being a little weird on mine, but it doesnt affect anything and it was just something I noticed. I currently have an Alienware Aw558, Logitech G502 spectrum, Steel Series Rival 500 and an Evga Torx carbon 10. They all have their pros and cons. None of them have as enjoyable side buttons as the Evga. The Rival 600 probably has the worst side buttons, but they are well placed and work well.. they’re just a little small and recessed. I think the Rival 600 is the most comfortable to actually use with the soft gel like material on the side. The left and right click aren’t as good as the Logitech G502, but still very good. All in all it’s an amazing mouse. The RGB looks AMAZING and it’s a joy to game with. I’m becoming a big fan of Steel Series.

    The SteelSeries Rival 600 Gaming Mouse has completely won me over. I’ve used Logitech mice before(my husband has the G502 Hero), but this one is so much lighter in the hand, making it feel incredibly comfortable for long gaming sessions. The precision is spot-on, and the design fits perfectly, offering great grip and control.

    The only downside I’d mention is the software but it’s —it could use a bit of work overall, but that’s a small issue considering how great the mouse itself performs. Overall, I’d never go back to another mouse; this one is my go-to from now on! Highly recommend it to anyone serious about gaming!

    Je dirais la deuxième meilleure mais comme je ne l’ai que depuis qqs jours je n’ai pas encore assez de recul pour cela.
    Arrivé dans son emballage avec tout ce qu’il faut : les poids et le câble. Malgrès un petit problème lors de l’acquisition de périphérique assez vite contourné je n’ai pas à me plaindre. Je la recommande, si comme moi vous avez de grandes mains ! (Mes gants sont en XL).
    Elle est réactive, elle a une masse, Je peux mettre ma main complète dessus et le toucher est très satisfaisant, avec des touches G et D dans un matériel différent du corps.
    Léger bémol pour certains : il y a (seulement) 7 boutons. Pour moi ça suffit ais je sais que moins de 8 c’est un frein pour certains.
    Le gros point positif c’est pour les bidouilleurs comme moi ou pour les bricoleurs : avec le logiciel de cette marque SteelSerie vous pouvez completement personaliser tout un tas de paramètres de votre souris.

    I was VERY happy with this mouse for the first three months that I owned it. Then the glue that holds the silicone pads down all around the mouse started loosening, and now all the silicone pads move around. I’m getting sticky glue all over the place – but I can’t remove the pad completely because it makes it worse. This issue has been well documented online. Look up: Steel Series, 600 or 650 glue problem. Evidently people have surmised that the warmth of your hand on the mouse heats up this cheap glue they’re using and over a little bit of time, the pads start dancing around. I reached out to Steel Series, who claimed they’ve never heard of the problem. (again.. search for the above online and you’ll see many responses by the company). They offered me a discount code to use on their website which will send me replacement side-grips at no charge. However, they’re out of stock and the employee could not give me any eta. I asked for them to send me a new mouse then – which they also denied being able to do. So I have this mouse, falling apart and making a mess, and Steel Series is not fixing the problem. Frustrating and in violation of their own warranty policy. Buyer beware.

    This is an excellent mouse for gaming. Perhaps the best! It has a great feel for whatever kind of grip you have (unless you have tiny girly hands). I found this mouse very comfortable and a perfect fit for my grip right off the bat.     I grabbed this mouse based on a lot of strong suggestions from gamers in my streams. I love the sensitivity and the size feels good for my big hands. It’s been a transition going from an MMO mouse to this but the benefits in playing games like Overwatch have been worth it. I’m really disappointed that the silicone pads are starting to slide off, though. I definitely didn’t expect that to be an issue after only having this mouse for a few months. I’m sure I can simply glue them back on but that shouldn’t be expected. So a really nice mouse but I’ve been a little less than impressed with durability.

    Update: Submitted an RMA with a pic and customer service was able to get me replacement grips sent pretty quickly, so updated from 1 star to 4 stars. The mouse works great, but the rubber grips as other reviewers mention are glued on and the glue fails within a year allowing the grips to slide out of position during use every couple minutes and leave a sticky residue. It’s a design failure for an otherwise high end mouse.

    This gaming mouse is the best I had so far! So highly customizable plus you can put on weights depending on your preference. Illumination is a bit difficult to customize though.     Overall it’s a decent mouse that I bought 13 months ago. The main issue is the grips on both sides. Mine lasted about a month or two the first time, after I contacted them they issued replacements for free because of the warranty (usually 10 dollars + 10 dollars shipping), but same thing happened again with somewhat similar timespan. I have big hands but I don’t overly squeeze the mouse. When looking it up people have posted that they said they changed them to last longer but that isn’t the case. I bought mine after this was claimed and even if I got a older model, the sent replacement sides had the same problem. Besides having missing grips on the sides, it’s a good mouse. Sorry about the gross looking pictures but from the glue residue it ends up looking like this quickly even if you clean it.

    Mouse works fine, feels good, looks great, but the rubberized bit on the left side where my thumb rests started coming unglued. After several frustrating and sticky Apex games, I just went ahead and pulled the rubber completely off and replaced it with a piece of vinyl after cleaning the adhesive off. I’m ok with continuing using this mouse and will probably replace the temporary white vinyl with black, or I might even order some rubberized vinyl for it. Still, for what I paid, this should not be an issue and is unacceptable. Also, Steel Series can KMA for shoving their politics down our throats. Bottom line, I do not recommend this mouse.

    My old gaming mouse died about 5 months ago, so I was forced to by this one when it was on sale. It came with its own weight system in order to help gamers get use to a specific weight to play to their best ability. But I prefer it nice and light. So it works still and I haven’t had any issue with peeling or having any problems that other reviewers have had. It is a bit pricey even on sale but it’s a good mouse and I like it.

    I bought this mouse a little over 9 months ago and already the side grips are pulling away from the mouse. If you look at the image I posted, you’ll see two points on the mouse where side grips are located. The problem is that these thin rubber grips wrap around to the bottom of the mouse, and if you put pressure on the mouse, the grips will make contact with your desk and start to “grab” at it. Eventually, these thin rubber grips will begin just tearing away from your mouse. And as a gamer, that’s unacceptable. The peeling rubber grips are creating drag on the mouse whether you move right or left. Well, then you want to contact customer service to find out what you’re supposed to do about this mouse that’s starting to fall apart in under a year due to it’s construction and design – can I call them? No. You have to fill out a support ticket and hope they get back to you. It’s unfortunate because I’ve really enjoyed the mouse for gaming. It was super great for shooters and mobas…until it wasn’t. I’m happy to change my rating if I get some great customer support and resolution to the issue. Will update after support gets back to me. *Update*: Steel Series support was very quick to get back to me and are shipping me (free of charges) new side grips for the mouse. A+ for getting back to me quickly, but I’m concerned that if the grip and adhesive are similar to what was originally put on the mouse, I’ll be in the same spot in another 9 months. After reading a slew of comments on various websites about the *exact* issue that I’m having, I’m not going to change my rating. This mouse is still “go-keyboard.com Recommended” but in my opinion, it definitely should not be.

    Shipping was fast and great. Unharmed at all. The box was cool and compact and very great. Came with everything. Good mouse for gaming the weights are cool and a good feature. It has a mode for fast mouse and slow mouse. You need the steel series engine 3 to change the illumination but the download was easy and fast. The process of changing the illumination patterns was easy and it looks great. You have to push the cord into the mouse so it’s secure. So even tho it can come unplugged, it doesn’t. If feels great it your hand, at least my hand. Remember all people have different hand sizes. 10/10 mouse. Buy it.

    I quite like this mouse. The rgb is cool, I love having the three side buttons for macros while playing, and the dpi switch works well. The only problem I have with this mouse is that the silicone siding that is underneath where I rest my ring finger keeps sliding when I get into an intense match and I had to buy some rubber cement to keep it in place. It hasn’t broken or stopped working the rgb lighting is really cool I would like to mention though that this mouse is for gaming you can use it for writing or doing other stuff on your pc buy if your going to use it for gaming I would also recommend you buy a mouse pad for it as it will not work very well without one.
