I use this for transcription. It took a while for my fingers to get used to it but I eventually got to my usual speed. The keys are wearing off pretty quickly though. I've only had it for 5 months and they started wearing off after about 3. Also 2 of the keys (9 and down arrow) don't change colors with the rest.

Hello all, as I am typing this review I am using my new Steelseries mechanical keyboard. This is my first mechanical keyboard, my old one was a Saitek Eclipse from almost 5 years ago so this is very different and new to me. I usually never write reviews but I feel there are some certain criticisms I have to make about this keyboard. I will keep this short. Pros: Cherry Black keys are perfect for me, I played around with a Razer at Microcenter and they use Blue's I felt they where a little too light so I am glad Steelseries chose black. Keyboard is also pretty heft, has a nice weight to it. Very minimalist design, no bells, whistles, and glossy black finishes. Cons: I deducted a couple points from ergonomics, firstly is I dont like how the "\" key is moved down next to the "?" key, I find myself actually missing the question mark key when I need to use it. This was a problem youtubers and critics have mentioned but I didnt think it was such a big deal but it is. The way I have been hitting the "?" all these years is I first like to use my middle finger to line up my index finger by feeling for the edge of the shift key, once I feel it I know once I drop my index finger its going to land on the "?" this is not the case with the 6GV2. Secondly and I feel this is the biggest ergonomic flaw, is the space bar key. It is angled in a strange way so your thumb actually hits the edge of the key, which is quite sharp its not rounded like on most keyboards. Normal keyboards your thumb would be landing dead smack right in the center of the space, on the 6GV2 it hits the edge, and it hurts I dont know why they chose to do this but its the biggest drawback on this keyboard. I dont know if the 7G is like this. My final gripe is with the company itself. I feel like Steelseries is marketing the 6GV2 as the "Poor mans 7G" keyboard. Reason is because the 6GV2 does not have a braided cable nor 18K gold connectors. Now these are small things but it matters, its a staple of craftsmanship when mice or keyboards have braided cords and gold plated connectors. Now a company like Steelseries markets itself as the best, making "Pro Gaming" accessories for world champions where a millisecond is all it takes for victory or defeat. Nothing should stand in the way for total absolute domination!....right? Well tell me why they skimped out on the 6GV2? It also does not have USB ports ontop of the missing golden connectors, headphone jack, and braided cord. Steelseries has to realize their customers are not people who care so much about money. If the best cost $150 we will buy it. The only reason I did not buy the 7G was because of the small backspace, and of the small left shift key. I bought this keyboard over the 7G for ergonomic reasons, not because my pockets are too shallow. $100 might be their entry level keyboard but its still not a small chunk of change. I expect every product that bears the "Steelseries" mark to be made to the standards they themselves set. For being such a high end company your humble reviewer honestly thinks Steelseries should make ONLY the 7G and discontinue the 6GV2. Make the 7G their flasgship keyboard and have the option for users to chose their own layout upon ordering. Name them the 7GV1 7GV2 7GV3 etc etc depending on the layout the customer chooses. If this ever happens then I will be first in line to buy it. That way yours truley can finally get his "smooth" space bar, gold connectors and braided cord, with a smaller "Enter" key and the "\" key returned to its rightful place ontop of the "Enter" Key. I would also like to have a wrist rest of some sort too. I look forward to this miraculous day comming, so I can finally give 5 stars to Steelseries. Unfortunately this keyboard did not earn it, so I suggest potential buyers to do some research prior to buying. Another company to consider is "DAS Keyboards" that was the other one I would have bought had I not got the Steelseries. Anyways that concludes my Rant. And for you guys who just skipped to this line my overall rating for the keyboard is: 7.5/10. Cheers! Chris 10/12/11 EDIT: The keyboard has been RMA im awaiting my replacement. The "B" key switch was defected. On another note, my Steelseries Sensei which I also had for less than a week MAY need to be RMA'ed also. The middle mouse button sometimes registers a single click twice, which is very annoying. Overall my first impressions with the Steelseries company has not been very pleasant. My old Saitek Eclipse and Razer Deathaddler are both 6 years old and still work flawlessly. Matter of factly I am using my Saitek to type this edit as my 6GV2 is en route back to go-keyboard.com.

  • This keyboard is great. The cherry red feels great whilst typing and playing FPS games (Destiny 2). The lighting is also helpful at times. Overall, I'd recommend this product if you could purchase it for $60 or under. I took off one star because my keyboard oddly had two of the same "]}" keys. (pic)

Key caps are thin and bad quality (spacebar cracked), certain backlight LEDs are also turning yellow (as seen in attached photos) and feels more like a linear switch than the tactile I paid for. Also not quiet as branded and doesn't sound good. Alright for the price but I would recommend spending a bit more $ if you're set on Logitech or just going with a different brand

1st, I am a huge fan of Chery MX Blue switches. While this board does not come with Cherry switches, it has a similar feel when typing. Can't say how it would be for gaming (as I don't game), but it is great for office work. I use both a Windows desktop and a MacBook with a 38" monitor with a built in USB 3 hub. I connected the board to the monitor, so, when I switch monitor inputs, it moves the hub (keyboard) to the respective connected computer. I like the simple FN-S (to switch to Mac Mode) and FN-A (to switch to Windows mode). Having a board that has both MAC and Windows firmware is a must for me, and, the ease of changing modes is nice. The board also has both Mac and Windows keycaps (dual marked, so no keycap changes required) which I like as I have traditionally been more of a Windows user, so the Mac special keys (CTL-Option-Command) are not yet drilled into my head). Took 1 star off as the space key shows a partial - left hand side - magenta backlight no matter which backlight mode is selected - ref. the attached image. It's a minor defect, but a defect for sure. Not worth the hassle of going through a return/replace as everything important - to me - works great). Last thought - the board is a bit cramped. I knew the size when I bought it as it is sold as a "small compact.." keyboard. I was able to get used to typing on it and I'm back up to my usual typing speed, but there was a small adjustment period. This board would be perfect if they had a full sized version with the same features I highlighted above (dual mode through keystroke changes, backlight, dual marked keycaps, etc.). Didn't ding the score for being cramped as I knew what I was buying.

I use it with my macbook pro, i needed to buy a dongle to connect it though because it didn’t have the type of port this keyboard had.

I have become intrigued by mechanical keyboards and began searching for one. What a great purchase! The keyboard comes exactly as described, packed with a plastic cover case for carrying. I'm literally addicted to the sound of the keycaps and the backlights (loving the fact you can also customize it yourself in addition to the existing options!) note, this is my first mechanical keyboard in a long time. all in all, so happy I bought this, definitely would recommend! Happy typing :)

I've had this keyboard for almost 3 years now and it has never once worked properly. While it does feel absolutely amazing to type on key presses something work. Other times they won't or they will type multiple letters with one key press. I've worked with keychron directly trong to fix this and they have sent me countless PCB boards trying to resolve the issue and ive finally given up all together. I highly recommend you steer clear of this product. Even tho the customer support was great the problem was never actually resolved resulting in a unbearable product altogether. And before you ask I've tried it on roughly 35 different computers of all operating types. Steer clear of keychron is my advice.

Wow, I've had this keyboard for about a month, and I still go nuts over it every day, it's the best mechanical keyboard I have ever used, the backlit is beautiful, and while I'm on that topic, there is also zone lights, there are two options, wasd and the up, down, side to side keys are lit, and everything else is lit, which is great for some people, and people such as myself, who probably will never use that feature. It uses they Cherry MX Brown key, with an actuation force of 45g, and gives a tactile response, as it says. It comes with a detachable hand rest, which works as intended, but for $120, I was hoping for something better, but it works, and that's ok. It has 6 macro keys that you can customize for different games. The cable isn't braided which, kind of sucks. There is a usb outlet in the keyboard, which is an amazing feature, because my mouse cable is short, and this helps that a lot. I love heavy things, and this keyboard is that, it isn't like a little membrane keyboard and weighs half an ounce, I believe it weighs 4.6 pounds. It has a 26 key rollover, meaning you can press 26 keys at a time, and the keyboard won't freak out. The build quality is another thing that is amazing about it, the keyboard ramps, will never break, WHICH I WORSHIP. Every keyboard I have ever owned, its keyboard ramps broke within the first month, but I tried to break them, and they didn't. The keyboard works amazingly in both the typing department, and the gaming department, as you can feel the difference between a crappy membrane keyboard and a mechanical keyboard. Anyone who has the right frame of mind would want this keyboard.

For $75 this keyboard is a great beginner board for people looking to get into the custom keyboard hobby! The board is super easy to disassemble, it comes with a key cap/switch puller and it even has foam already placed in the bottom of the case so it sounds pretty decent out of the box. The stabilizers are decently lubed as well. A mod I would recommend for this board is the tape mod (put masking tape on the back of the pcb, I did 2 layers) and it will start sounding really nice. I haven't lubed my switches yet and I'm not sure if they are pre-lubed but with just the pcb mod the sound of this board went from a maybe a 6.5 to a solid 7.5, especially with the spacebar and backspace key, they sound extra thocky. Overall the skycyan switches are also really smooth and responsive, I tested them out by playing apex legends and they felt great! Just keep in mind that the LEDs on this board are north facing so cherry profile keycaps are not recommended.

UPDATE 2: So when i made my first review i was using it with a usb c cable however just right after i used the Bluetooth wireless feature it was very disappointing. my Computer is just 3ft away from my keyboard and the Bluetooth cant reached that far. it detects but damn the delay is insane and most of the time the key gets stuck meaning you press one button and it will type that letter forever its not the switch its just doesn't detect the keyboard well and thats just being 3 ft away from my PC. however if you have a USB Bluetooth dongle or have a laptop that is literally in front of your keyboard then there is no issue in the signal so i end up returning it for MAC users and most of you have your PC infront of your keyboard i dont see an issue as it work well with mine. however this keyboard was meant for my PC unfortunately its 3 feet away and that doesnt even work i guess bluetooth sucks on this keyboard. This is probably the best 75% keyboard for the price i bought the base K2 model for $75 and added my own keycaps which made the keyboard a lot nicer.. the keyboard is the one with blue and yellow keycaps. as you can see on the photo i have 3 and the lower is keyboard without a keycaps is a $400 keyboard which is also 75% all i can say that i put that keyboard away and using this keychron k2. ALL I WISH ITS HOTSWAPABLE. So in short yes i would buy it again hope KEYCHRON MAKES A NEW ONE WITH HOT SWAP SWITCHES.

What steal, everything worked out great. Came in a regular cardboard box(see pictures) which is what i expected since it was "refurbished" anyways. Keyboard looks brand spanking new, not a scratch on it, like i said brand new condition. Its crazy how much these go (just about DOUBLE the price) just to purchase a non-refurbished one. I saved over $50. Came with the all the extra grip textured keycaps(pictures) and palm wrest piece. I mainly ordered this for the "Rapidfire" Cherry switches bc i play alot of FPS games, and they are wonderful. Coming from using regular Cherry RED switches the jump to a shorter actuation point(2.0mm to 1.2mm) was not as bad as i thought it would be. Their definitely a shorter press but typing is still fine for me. If your coming from Blue or Brown switches i would say your gonna have a hard time (but its worth it in the long run if you game alot) with typing and misspelling words alot for the first few weeks. This was the case for me when i came form Blue's to Reds a couple months ago. Reds and Rapidfire switches have a linear feel to them and there is no "snappy" feel letting you know when the key you press registers like the Blue's and Browns. So it takes a few weeks to get used to that. However once i got used to Red switches i can type much much faster bc of the shorter distance needed to press them to register the keys. I could not go back to anything other than Atleast Red switches now, with Rapidfire being my favorite. So smooth and amazing for gaming. Hope this helped out anyone looking to give this keyboard or the Rapidfire switches a go. TL:DR - Wonderful Keyboard for Cherry MX RED switch lovers, Rapidfire switches are amazing and the jump from the regular Reds to these is easy. Amazing for gaming. Keyboard came in perfect Brand New condition, not a single flaw. Everything works great!

This headset it supposed to be all that but I am not impressed. The mic monitoring is terrible. You have to download the Razer app to get it to work. Also the corded Turtle Beach I had before seemed to perform much better in every category except for wireless operation. I have messed with the settings and cannot seem to get these dialed in to my liking. I would not buy again. But I will say the cordless feature is nice (about the only positive). I gave them a 3 star (neutral rating) because they are as advertised a headset. They are also wirei like advertised. Battery life seems good. They look and feel nice. Audio is meh. Buy turtle beach
