Since I got so used to this device, I decided to purchase again anyway (the function key is so useful for me and I really like the scroll button too).    This is probably my favorite peripheral. I have been using this style since they first released with Belkin. It’s the most comfy one I have found so far, the RGB lights and the ability to connect to it via Razer software make it an awesome aesthetic for your setup. I have been using this for World Of Warcraft and it helps my game a lot. Super mappable and once you get used to it, you will be healing or DPSing like a pro. I couldn’t go back to doing arena’s without this again.

   The plastic part of the palm rest and the thumb joystick housing honestly feels a bit cheap and I am a lil sad that the adjustable wrist rest is only adjustable in the way that you pull the whole thing off and put it in a different peg. It only has one other level where it is just slightly further away from the keypad by about half an inch. Adjustable is a bit of an overreach in this context. The palm rest itself does not adjust to be higher or lower. For me the palm rest was too high and my hands must be too small because the base of my palm was all the way on top of the wrist rest in order to push the keys on the top row. I found it uncomfortable and it actually started to cause pain.

   So my intended use for this was Fortnite, using the d-pad for movement and the other keys for everything else, but I’ve used it in many other ways from every other game I play to even just using it as a macro-pad. The mecha-membrane switches are okay but I wish the optical switches weren’t unreasonably more expensive. Anyway here’s my main complaint, the joystick (which ended up being more like a mid-end d-pad) is uncomfortable to use, with the plastic joystick piece there is no grip, and is a slippery plastic, ESPECIALLY with sweaty hands. and using it without this piece is uncomfortable, stretching my thumb or tilting the whole thing.

   Great piece of equipment. I play a lot of Call of Duty and it’s bothersome with keyboard and mouse due to me hitting the mouse into the keyboard. This helps a lot with that problem, and gives you other hot keys readily available. My only gripe is with the software it comes with, (Synapse) it seems to crash and operate real slow. Razer needs to step their game up with their software and make it more user friendly and operate smoother in-game. One of the hotkeys wasn’t working in-game and it was difficult to get it working again without shutting the program down and restarting the game. Synapse does needs to be open and running for it to function properly. The gamepad takes a bit to get used to, but I do recommend it for first person shooter games. It does make a loud click noise for each button press, but its not an issue for me because I wear a headset and can’t hear the noise, and neither can my teammates through my microphone. The wrist rest is very soft and has sufficient amount of cushion. It’s also adjustable in where you can move it closer or farther away from the gamepad. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

   Initial note: I can see this being a really nice device to have macros. I just haven’t had time yet to try out all the options yet. Historically, it takes me about a month to feel like I’ve fully adapted to a new mouse speed, keyboard, etc. On a typical keyboard, you will have keys that are slightly offset on each row. At least, for the letters. Your number pad if you have one is all aligned. On the Tartarus v2, the keys are aligned in a grid with no horizontal offset. That’s a big enough change for me that I struggle to hit the key’s I’m expecting. I’ve played enough Diablo 3, Path of Exile, and other games that move with mouse and you use your left hand to just cast skills. So any game like that, this feels okay. Games that you use wasd to move, e to use, r to reload, space to jump, ctrl to crouch (most FPS games) it’s a little hard to adjust. Space is a lot further than you would expect. I wear medium sized gloves, so that should give you an idea of scale. If I need to hit the top row of keys and the space button, I have to stretch my hand to the max or move my hand fairly far. This feedback is with me playing about 4 hours on a game that didn’t require the space (20 button) or the top row. I’ll provide an update in about a month once I get used to using this.

The keys have a solid response on keypress and can be remapped to not only single keys but key combinations and beyond as shown in the picture included. Installation and setup was easy and I’ve had no issues since purchase and it has improved response time by reducing key travel delay in my games such as World of Warcraft, Destiny 2 and others.

   I’ve been playing on this pad for three months now. This is a very well made game pad. The RGB is bright and the colors are true. I especially appreciate how you can make the palm rest larger for big hands. And you can switch out the keycaps with ones that have the same default letters (like I did in the picture). The thumb stick is a life-saver for people like me who are used to controlling high-speed FPS games on a pad instead of a keyboard (I only wish it worked for all games). The Razer driver/software is complex, but not too complicated. It has so many options that you will spend more time figuring out how you want it to look than you will customizing what you want the buttons to do. The switches have just the right amount of resistance. You can adjust the actuation point because they’re optical. But I found that isn’t an issue, even with my big hand and heavy fingers. Minor complaint: The spacebar isn’t quite in the right spot. For FPS games I have to jump with the side of my thumb instead of the pad of my thumb like I’m used to.

    So I started out with the V2 and have had it for a while. I just got the Pro today. I needed non-clicky keys as it can sometimes wake up my partner if I’m in a raid. V2 vs Pro at first glance: Pro has 20 silent keys. The exception being the circle button and the d-pad next to it. Pro has slightly deeper keys so less light bleed Pro also has settings for actuated keys. I attached a screenshot showing how it is in the current version. So each key depending on how hard you press could be another key. Only drawback I have had is with how much I use it the material tends to pick up dirt and oil. So the key caps get gunked up and need cleaned every so often. Its not to bad with just a paper towel and isopropyl alcohol. The issue is I have to get behind the computer and unplug it to do so. Really wish it unplugged at the keyboard like my Deathstalker V2 Pro. Also a note: If you have smaller hands you will probably have to move your hand to reach the top 5 buttons. My sister even has a hard time hitting the 20 thumb key but she does still like her V2. I have longer fingers and still have to move some to reach the 5 key.

    This is the second time I’ve purchased this keypad, and not because it’s bad, but because it’s one of the best controllers for working with art and drawing apps that I needed one for another drawing setup. The value at the price offered is unmatched, offering an artist like me access to all of the necessary shortcuts, including a scroll wheel and d-pad that can be programmed to perform things like canvas navigation, rotation, or adjust brush sizes.
    The ergonomics are tried and true, letting me work all day without breaking flow. The only downside I can think of is that if you’re a left-handed artist, this keypad won’t be friendly for you, as it’s clearly only designed for a left hand to operate.
    The sound is nice if you’re looking for audible feedback and tactility. However for my case, I removed the click leaves from each key for a more silent operation.
    Overall, a great keypad that’s fully customizable and programmable. Although designed for gaming, I found it far more useful for doing work and art. The price of this compared to other artist-oriented alternatives makes this a solid choice.

    I’m a 5’0 female and have extreme baby hands. I’ve been using the Nostromo for years, but unfortunately it’s been fading fast. I hestitated to upgrade considering the reviews for users with smaller hands were so poor, but I am in love with this new Tartarus keypad. I see a lot of users comparing it to the Nostromo, and while I understand the argument of size, it’s also important to take into account there is an additional entire row of keys on the Tartarus. Mind you, that missing row of keys drove me INSANE and I am so happy they added it. Sure they are a bit more challenging to reach with smaller hands, but in gaming I have them as programed as my numbered inventory and in editing for less used keys. The padding is really soft and the product is very durable and feels superior in it’s quality compared to the Nostromo. The d-pad is night and day compared to the old model and much easier to use. The only physical draw back I’ve found after several hours of use so far is the scroll wheel feels somewhat fragile. The software is very simple to use and still offers a seemingly endless amount of options to personalize the device’s use. Having my mouse work seamlessly with the device, and even together with programing options, is a huge plus. If you have smaller hands and are transitioning from the Nostromo it’s important to remember the addition of the 4th row (which is fabulous). If you are using a razer keypad for the first time, I would suggest some patience and assure you that you will grow to love it. Well worth it.

    -Tartarus is a competant keypad, with nice mechanically clicky keys, and utilizes the thankfully stable and user-friendly Synapse 3.0 software. Personally I hated 2.0 and it’s endless bugs, but 3.0 has been a nice surprise and functions flawlessly with plenty of customizing options. -Hypershift functionality finally matches Logitech’s “G-Shift” functionality, allowing a modifier key, when depressed, to activate a second functionality for each key. -Ergonomics may not be as friendly to people with very small hands. I have very large hands, and find the -Tartarus to be a generally comfortable fit. There are two positions available for the detachable wristpad, however, and that may help. -Lots of lighting options if that’s your thing. Plug and Play installation. -Has a nice “feel” to it, in that the materials feel mostly solid, nothing is loose or rattling around. Does not feel like a cheap toy or a generic knock-off. Here’s hoping that it will last me a while. I’m actively using it for videogames along with my Logitech G600.     Ok so starting off, i switched from using logitechs gamepad for 15 years. Their decision to remove support and start charhing subscriptions for software just rubbed me wrong so now its time to change after my joystick started to die. So i’ll go over good first then the bad as well as solutions for some of the bad. Good: Functions great. The sensitivity settings for button presses is amazing! Rly ups my in game reflexes being able to barely touch buttons to use them. I also love the idea of the scroll wheel on the gamepad, great for if a mouse scroll wheel is acting up. Additionally the silent button presses is great for me.. clicky clack drives me nuts when gaming as i feel like im disturbing others. I also love the size of the joystick as i have big thumbs and the cushion is great for my wrists. Bad: So some of this is just user error and preference but i did find solutions for most of it which i will go into detail on. Almost all of my issues involve the joystick. So i use mine for movement not hotkeys as it frees up three fingers that way. When using it for movement dont change it to 8 directional as theres a bug where it cant do 360 movement as it wont read the diagonals. If you are like me and curiously thought to check it out but went back to 4 directional you will need to restart your computer after switching back to 4 direectional as without the computer restart the bug on the diagonals will still be there. So tldr: 4 directional allows 360 movement but 8 does not and if you switch to 8 and then back to 4 it needs a pc restart to read properly again. point 2 is the joysyick is slippery as hell, so my solution was getting a ps5 grip cap warming it up a bit and stretching it to fit. 3rd point is the clicking. everything else on the gamepad is silent i wish the joystick was too, even an option to adjust the clicking would be nice, much like what some of their mice can do. when i first got it buttons were a little stiff so took some muscle memory adjustment and a bit of use to loosen em up. not an issue long term just a point to keep in mind when u first get it. with the sensitivity setting anyways it only affected me ehen holding buttons down til they loosened up. Having used logitech’s for years i do miss the screen with the performance monitor on it as well, but i have other eays of doing that so not a huge loss. ok final point is the scroll wheel. its location is terrible, it sits right under the joint between the thumb and pointer which is not easy to reach. Putting it to the left of the 09 or 10 button would be a better spot making it easier to use as frankly my pointer finger and thumb dont bend that way for the current placement. all in all amazing gamepad just needs some minor tweaks to make it perfect.

    I have small hands, 6.5 inches from palm to middle finger tip and ring sizes 4.5-6. I’m able to use this but I did need to shift my hand position to the right so I could use the thumb buttons. I swaped the directional keys to correspond and added some textured gaming keycap stickers to help me learn the new keybinds. I am able to use all of the buttons easily except the top row which requires a little stretch to reach but that’s fine with me, I just make those the seldom used keybinds. I needed more pinky modifier buttons as well as thumb accessible modifier buttons (the D-pad is perfect for that). I use this for gaming along with a G600 mouse, it works wonderfully and solved the problem I was having with needing more modifiers and being able to hit binds faster/more reliably. You can record double modifiers with this such as Alt+Shift, I needed that feature specifically. It looks amazing matching my mercury huntsman mini and I love having a separate keypad for gaming rather than using my keyboard. It allows me to have crazy re-mapped keybinds without losing the ability to type normally. I use W A,S D,Q, and E; all the rest of the keys are re-mapped to numpad or modifiers. The space bar key (20) is a bit low and the distance makes it unreliable for me to use quickly so its in the seldom used keybind category. I re-mapped the circular button above the D-pad to map, the D-pad is space bar and 3 modifiers. The little D-pad thumbstick attachment is really great, too! <> – 6 month update- I absolutely love this thing. I’ve adjusted to using it all the time for gaming and it is so incredibly comfortable. The wrist rest is my favorite part in regards to comfort and the hand positioning in general is relaxing, the shorter keycaps help with this. I found some better gripy texture tape for my most used keys. The joy stick for the D-pad has become pivitol for my gameplay. I love this thing so much that I got a second one for couch gaming. Synapse 3 doesn’t support 2 of the same device running at once so I had to get a USB splitter. I purchased both devices “Used like new” and they have been wonderful. Both arrived in perfect condition with no blemishes or malfunction. – 6 mo th update on the second I purchased in “Like New” Condition. One of the keys broke out of nowhere while I was using it. The device had not been damaged while in my care. Razer does not sell replacement keys for this item and refuses to provide them. Keys are not covered in the warranty, so if they break you are out of luck. However, I was able to find these keys on go-keyboard.com that replace the low profile Taryarus keys perfectly -lamd they are very affordable – X-keys Keycap Cherry MX Compatible

    While I do a fair bit of gaming (mostly action & FPS games likes Rainbow Six: Siege, Hunt: Showdown, Outriders, etc.), when I discovered this product it was the last thing on my mind. That said, if you’re reading this review to get my feedback on its usefulness and responsiveness in games – this review will have zero pertinent information for you. If, like me, you were looking at this as a potential editing console/controller – this review is for you. I am a professional graphic designer and digital illustrator who regularly uses Adobe’s Creative Cloud suite. In particular, I use Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Xd daily. For some of these programs I tend to use a Wacom Intuos Pro medium in place of a mouse and, of course, a keyboard. This is the main reason I purchased this device. While I’m perfectly at home with a mouse and keyboard, I can attest to and must admit that having the Razer Tartarus Pro has sped up my workflow EXPONENTIALLY. As some of you reading this may know, using a graphic tablet is great for countless applications but personally when I’m using a tablet for something other than digital painting, using the express keys makes it awkward to operate one-handed and flipping back and forth between having both hands on the tablet (1 on the express keys, 1 on the pen) or having one hand on the keyboard and the other on the pen. As you might imagine this can actually slow your process down somewhat significantly. Especially when you consider that the keyboard shortcuts that you use frequently can be between 3-4 simultaneous keystrokes which adds to the uncomfortable nature of switching. For this reason, some people start to look at editing consoles/controllers to help with this. The main two I personally had been considering were the Tour Box ($169 MSRP at time of review) and one of the Loupedeck devices ($250-500). While both were fine products, I heard this mentioned in passing and decided to investigate. I was a bit surprised because I’ve pretty much always used Logitech products, I knew nothing about Razer’s catalog except that they were popular with people who take gaming much more seriously than I do and that’s about it. At a MSRP of $129 I had to at least try it. When it suddenly went on sale from $129 to $79, I pulled the trigger. This has been my experience so far: The short: I wholeheartedly recommend this device if you are looking to use it the way I am. I cannot speak to this device’s use in games because I haven’t used it for that, I wasn’t planning on it and frankly, the other thousands of reviews have that aspect covered pretty thoroughly. The long: I chose the Pro over the V2 for a few reasons I think you’ll find important. The main advantages the Pro has over the V2 are that it has optical switches, the keys are dual-action and the keys actuation is adjustable. If you’re used to mechanical keyboards, the key “feel” may mess with you at first but unless you’re a particularly heavy-handed typer I don’t foresee any adjustment issues. The keys on the Pro are a little on the heavy side but because of the nature of the dual-action keys, they kind of have to be. While you can set the actuation (ostensibly how hard you press before the unit recognizes that it’s been pressed far enough to trigger the secondary action) to your preference, it will take some light adjusting. The primary function triggered by the initial keypress can be extremely light and the secondary action is generally triggered around half way to “bottoming out” (key being pressed in all the way). It’s also important to know that regardless of what you have assigned to the primary and secondary actions to any given key, the primary action will always be triggered first and there is no way to bypass the primary function. While that may sound limiting, it just means you have to be thoughtful about what you assign. I’ll talk about this more later. The beauty of the dual-action keys for design software is that you can just set all of your most-used functions to single key presses as there is no string limit per key. That said, as I mentioned, the way you stack keys matters. For instance, if you wanted to set up a key to “Save” on primary and “Save-As” on secondary – it’s still gonna overwrite your file because it has to “Save” before it can get to “Save As”. A better way of grouping similar commands would be to set “Copy” as primary and “Cut” as secondary so that it doesn’t matter that you only need to cut as copying won’t prevent you from cutting immediately after. And it’s not just the keys – you can even program the scroll wheel and D-pad. Might sound useless to a mouse user, but being able to immediately switch between scrolling and zooming on that wheel without having to move your hand – it’s just one of those little things that, in tandem with the rest of your efficiency binding, make this thing fast and fun to use. You also have them ability to designate a key as a “Hypershift” key in Razer’s Synapse software (more in that in a sec) wherein instead of tweaking the actuation to your liking to make use of the dual-action keys, you can sacrifice a key to be the modifier instead of using the “pressure” settings. Feels a bit silly to sacrifice a key for that reason to me but it’s a reasonable alternative for the more heavy-handed among us. Razer’s Synapse 3 software (needed to program your keys and lighting) is not the most immediately intuitive, but once you get the hang of it – it becomes fairly easy to use. From Synapse, you can create profiles for your respective games/applications with their own independent layout and lighting options. You can adjust the key actuation, macros, brightness and for all your RGB lighting needs, Razer’s Chroma suite has you covered. You can even sync your other Razer devices or have the lighting effect(s) (Yes, you can even layer lighting schemes and effects) or incorporate multiple Razer devices into a single continuous effect. This is one of the other reasons I opted for the Pro over the V2. I tend to work in little to no light, so the per-key RGB lighting (Yes, even the scroll wheel) is much better than the V2 in that there is no light bleed on the Pro. Depending on the environment, the light bleed on the V2 is pretty egregious by comparison. On the Tartarus Pro, I’ve never been confused as to which key I’m about to hit and while that may sound like a minor issue for a difference of $50, like any other piece of equipment, there’s gonna be a learning curve. That learning curve can be shortened drastically if you start out by color-coding keys which is a huge help until muscle memory develops. Some have complained that the unit has no onboard memory and while this is true, Synapse has cloud storage for settings, so unless you intend to take this device with you everywhere and need to use it in 100 different machines…I’d argue that’s a bit of a moot point. I know everyone’s needs are different, but realistically I see most people using it on their main workstation and maybe a laptop…even if I still worked at an agency on-site, I’d be hesitant to request IT clear Synapse for my work machine but maybe we’re different. The last thing to touch on are the ergonomics. I have large, but not huge hands and I find (for my purposes) that reaching all the keys is comfortable and intuitive (even when you start building speed – and you will). If you have larger hands, the palm/wrist rest is adjustable but if you have smaller hands, I could see this being less wieldy although not uncomfortable. If you have average to large hands I think you’ll be at home. The palm base/ wrist rest is lightly padded but not so much so that you notice it which is great because I’ve dealt with a myriad of “comfort” features that only served to irk during extended periods of use. Thankfully, in the case of the Razer Tartarus Pro, I can use it for HOURS without any discomfort whatsoever. There’s something extremely cathartic about being able to work without moving your hands unnecessarily. It’s a huge help if you deal with strain from carpal tunnel or tendonitis especially. Whether you’re a mouse, tablet (or both) user, I think everyone considering this to speed up their design workflow should at least try it. Do some experimentation with your binds both in physical placement and how you “stack” commands and group your keys colors by tool/function and I’m willing to bet it won’t take long before you start wondering how you were getting by without it.

    this review is written after 6 months of use, roughly. here are my pros and cons, not in order at all 🙂 this is super nice for what i needed it for (a smaller gaming space), and i love the membrane keys, but i have made a few modifications to this to make it (in my opinion) better. they are fairly easy. 1: i added a riser for the space bar. its WAY to low to comfterbly use, same for the 4 way d pad. i dont really use the d pad anyways, so having the riser didnt get in the way. it just brings the button up to a managable, and comfterable height for me. 2: i removed the devices that made the keys click. i ordered the membrane keys with this because i like both how they feel, respond, and sound (laptop user, so im used to them and like the quiet.) however, when this came all the buttons still made a very audible clicking noise. took me 5 seconds to take off the keycaps and realise there were literally some metal spring switches in each switch that were JUST there to make sound for the typical gamer who wants that ‘click’. i ordered membrane keys, and they came with a fake click xD. promptly removed that, and now they are silent, have just the right amount of resistance before giving way, and just enough travel distance to be noticed. imo, they are really good membrane keys once you remove that stupid fake click piece. few other things to add: i love this keyboard, having used it for around 6 months now. the immense amount of things you can rebind they keys to (preety much any computer function you can think of, not just keyboard related things. you can rebind up to f24 if the normal function keys arent enough for you lol), and if you dont have enough keys to do the job, there is the option to set one of the keys to a razer hypershift key which doubles your available keys, in effect. in fact, the button above the d pad is just for that. very useful! quick con i have noticed that i cant work around or fix: randomly, and i mean REALLY randomly, they keyboard forgets i have a key pressed down. 90% of the time its one of the WASD keys as i hold down those the most (for movement), but i bet its not just the keys itself. so if your in a competitive shooter and sprinting somewhere, there is a chance you will just stop moving until you press they key again. its odd, and not that much of an inconvience, but if your in a ranked match or tense situation i can see how it would be disruptive. and for those mentioning comfort, i have used this for 16 hours straight at one point and my hand was not sore at all. this was after making my ergonomics adjustments, so im imagining if i didnt have that riser on the spacebar, or used the d-pad, my thumb would have been sore. but the main 19 buttons on the keypad + the scroll wheel are in the perfect spots for me. top row may be a _bit_ to high up, but its reachable and you get used to it very quick.

    I also own the Belkin Nostromo N52 from 20+ years ago and the design hasn’t changed much, since Razer bought the rights. The Space Bar (thumb Key 20) is still awkward but the regular keypresses are much better than the old membrane from the N52. I truly wish Razer would sell replacement keys, because I relocate many of the key caps to provide finger location feedback, and unlike the old N52, these keys can only be oriented in one direction because of the Mech-Membrane tactile click. With the N52 the keys could be upside down, but with this unit, the keys have to be one direction. I attached the unit to the armrest of my computer chair with a large (HVAC) zip tie and the palm rest still attaches properly. Overall, I am satisfied with the device, but I am suspect of the cloud based Synapse software and the Keylogging BS you have to agree to.

    I LOVE this thing! I’m an artist and bought the Tartarus primarily for use with Maya, ZBrush and Photoshop. I was a little concerned after reading some reviews that said it was made for people with larger hands. I’m a 5’6 female with average sized hands and it’s very comfortable for me to use. I set the wrist brace one position back and it’s perfect. Set up and registration took a little time but wasn’t a problem. I love that you can set the keys up for different programs and of course the lighting adds an extra something special. The only thing I’d change would be to make the keys silent but that’s a personal preference and not a deal breaker. Overall I totally recommend this for digital artists!

    I previously owned the original black version of this for about 3-4 years and LOVED it. Saw this had an open box version for almost half the price, copped that, opened the box and it was like it had never even been used, just taken out the box. I have re-fallen in love with this device- it has so many more options for me as a disabled gamer. I only have my left hand to really work with when gaming and use a roller ball track mouse for my bad right hand. The size is a little large for my tiny hand but still comfortable to use and the weight is like nothing. The built in wrist rest is great too! This thing has made shooters and games that require a more complicated key mapping so doable! I’m still getting used to programming and binding and setting profiles, but once you do, it’s literally magical what you can do with this thing. I never experience a delay in set up of mapping keys while having the game actively open while I program into the device itself. I’ve been building a white set up for years now and so for me, the fact this only comes in white for the pro version is great but I know some people do not love white. I definitely feel like I got a stupid great deal for this device, paid only $89 after taxes for that opened box version that came brand new- new ones are around $140. So I’m happy with what I got for what I paid.

    Really wanted to love this but it just was not comfortable for my use. It does have an adjustable palm rest but with only two settings it feels like a small and XL size. It’s either way too cramped for my hand to use the scroll lock and perfect positioning for the WASD keys or prefect scroll position and overreach for WASD. I couldn’t find the “just right” setting for me. I understand that this might be just my hand shape an led preference last but unfortunately I just can’t use it. Now the item itself is top notch. It’s built like a rock and the switches are buttery smooth. They fee like cherry black switches with a smaller keycap, so no swapping key caps with standard caps. The scroll is smooth, is prefer a bit more feedback when scrolling as the “clicks” are very faint and feels a bit too loose for me. The keypad is really really well built and despite not being able to use it, If this works for your hand shape and size, it’s definitely worth looking into.

    I’ve got too much rambling to do about gaming keyboards. First off, 15 or so years ago I had this awesome keyboard that was like a normal keyboard except over on the left side was an extra area with a game pad with irregular shaped ergonomic buttons. It had inverted T directional buttons, space shift ctrl alt etc plus some other all laid out in a sensible manner, but they were different shapes and not like normal keyboard keys. And it had at least 10 “number keys” in two rows above that. It was also programmable and great for playing stuff like Guild Wars. Well for some reason nobody makes anything like that anymore. So I figured I’d try this and see how well I could customize it to my liking. The way I set it up is WASD like usual, and I have shift ctrl tab esc on the left, the. 02-05 are 1-4. (Playing Outer Worlds right now.) The big “space bar” type button is useless as a space bar because it’s just way too far away unless you have gorilla hands, so I set that to HyperShift and am using the little round thumb button as space/jump. Everything else not counting the “hypershift” set is the corresponding key around WASD. So them like like wtf I don’t have an alt key handy. I decide to use the mouse wheel click of all things as the alt key. This makes me think they could use an extra button somewhere maybe. Another button to the left of the 11 or 10 might also be good for caps lock since that’s used as auto run in a lot of games. So overall the main problem with this is that it makes you want to lay it out like a normal keyboard, but it doesn’t quite have the extra keys needed to put some keys that are not within one key of WASD on the layout. This is annoying. I really want at least 10 number keys above the WASD (no I don’t want a “MMO” mouse with a keypad on the side). One solution seems to be to use “HyperShift” to give you a whole different set of keys, but then that’s annoying because you need a shift button for all your “number”/function keys. I mean seriously…. Just put a bunch of smaller round number/F keys above the 01-05, and I’m not sure what to do for the alt because 20 is too far off to use as a space, and I’m used to the alt being near the space, but I’m using the little round button as space and there’s nothing to the left of that but the scroll wheel. I think the biggest specific issue with the layout on this one is the key 20 “space bar” which isn’t really located in such a way as to make a proper space bar. It really needs to be in the location where the joystick is, but there’s a joystick there. Overall I’d say, this keyboard isn’t too bad but I’m still searching for my ideal.
