   I love this mouse, but I’m very OCD about sratches, and unfortunately I received one when I was cleaning it with a wet towel, however this mouse is excellent and I will recommend to get it. You can baraley see the scratch, but that is due to the fact my camera would enchance when I was taking a picture of the mouse.

   Intro: Before I write this I want to state that I am not affiliated in anyway with this company and this is a unbiased and honest review. Review: This is the first gaming mouse that I have bought for my new setup and I am very pleased with this mouse overall. I would like to start out with the negatives of this mouse that I have experienced while playing some games. 1. Left click sensibility: Now this might be from 2 months of use, but what I have noticed is that in some games, for example csgo, when trying to tap the left click to shoot one bullet it fires multiple shots instead. This does happen to me, but it really doesn’t effect my overall experience by a ton. 2. Red led: I really wish this mouse came with an rgb selector to match with my color scheme, but the only color available is red. 3. Dpi: I never found it necessary to go over 2000 dpi for my personal preference so having 4000 dpi wouldn’t really be necessary for any other gamer out there. Positives: Adjustable weight: This is what really got me interested in the mouse since now I can make the mouse as light or heavy as I want it to be depending on the games that I play. Texture: Both the side grip has a sand paper esc feel which really helps with gripping. The top of the mouse has a smooth surface which is awesome after longs hours of use. The mouse has shown some signs of wear after 3 months of use with the sand paper texture somewhat starting to fade away, but I am very happy with the results. Scroll wheel: This scroll wheel is very hefty. It has a rubber like texture feeling and has some weight to it to make it easier to scroll. Glide: The pads on the bottom are very well placed, and I have great glide on my mouse pad which is great for when I want to flick shot. Doesn’t feel like a cheap old plastic mouse: The way this was designed really impressed me as this mouse doesn’t feel or look like a plastic mouse. This mouse is one of the more durable ones that I have used in a while, Overall: GET THIS MOUSE! I really dont have a problem with it and use it daily for normal use to pc gaming. For 3 months of use this mouse still looks like what it was from day one and im very happy.

   The perfect mouse for gaming? I’ve only had this mouse for a couple minutes but I can already tell that this mouse is great. The feel on my hands is great and almost feels alien compared to other mice. The weight is spot on, but can be adjusted with the removable weights. The reason I chose this mouse is it has a so-called “Perfect Sensor” for gaming, which is really crucial when playing FPS games. The right and left buttons are responsive without being overly sensitive. It has a nice matte finish on top and a textured feel on the sides, very nice for gripping. The red accent lighting stand out nicely with the matte black finish. The cord is long and has tightly woven sleeving covering it. The DPI can be change very easily and has led lighting for indication. The only gripe that I have with the one that I received is that the scroll wheel is very noisy and vibrates when scrolling down. I have ordered a replacement through go-keyboard.com and will update my review as soon as I received the replacement. So far though this mouse is amazing, the best mouse I have ever used and deserves to be in the TOP FIVE GAMING MICE ever. So if you are wondering if this mouse is for you, I highly recommend it! Corsair has did a great job with this one.

   I’ve been trying to find a suitable replacement for my amazing MX518 that’s performed exceedingly well for the past 8 years. I tried the SteelSeries Sensei RAW piece and it was only sufficient at best. I didn’t like how high my palm felt when resting on the mouse and the placement of the thumb/pinky buttons were not comfortable. That isn’t the case with the M40. It feels perfectly natural and solid in my hand while the Sensei feels so cheap compared to it. I love the solid feel of the scroll wheel and the thumb buttons are properly placed. The attached side groove is a nice touch and the material has just the right amount of grip so you can really apply an accurate amount of control. The weight system on this is what makes the M40 really shine though. They’re very easy to remove and switch, all you need is a flat head screwdriver or coin. It did take some trial and error with a few games to find a comfortable balance that suited my needs. In the end I’m using one weight located in the rear of the mouse, beneath my palm. YMMV. My one and only complaint is that there is no side scrolling with the wheel but this is a gaming mouse so my review won’t subtract from that. I felt the software to be a bit more user friendly than the SteelSeries also. Windows 7 picked up the device immediately and the drivers and firmware update applied without issue. Be sure to download the package from Corsair instead of letting Windows decide the settings (corsair.com/downloads). The SteelSeries application wasn’t as intuitive and would also crash once in a while. Overall I’m extremely happy I bought this. I even found myself rediscovering my game collection again because the mouse is so comfortable and smooth to use. One small tip: if you plan to buy this on go-keyboard.com, it’s sort of a crap shoot to get the best price. I had this on my wishlist for about a week and it was first priced at MSRP but two weeks later it dropped to $41 so I pulled the trigger. Within A DAY the price rose $7 and then another $11 after that. At the time of this review it was currently priced at $58.99. So I would add it to your list then monitor it from time to time. With Corsair you’re paying for the name but I personally wouldn’t value this mouse higher than $50.
