   The mouse build, quality, and software are all fantastic. I love Corsair products and have never been let down – until I bought this mouse. Simply put, the mouse is absolutely not designed for palm grip users. The design has a reasonable arch to comfortably fit the palm of your hand, but is offset by the fact that the right click (middle finger) button is SHORTER than the left click (index finger). That makes no sense to me, and is the primary problem that mouse engineers don’t account for. You simply cannot put your whole hand on the mouse without your middle finger going over the edge of the right click button. The Corsair website says it should fit a “variety of grip styles”, but that is misleading. If you want a true palm grip mouse, go with Corsair’s Glaive. It is larger, has a higher arch, has interchangeable parts, and both mouse click buttons are identical in length. I’m giving it 4 stars because it is a great mouse, but did not fit my needs.

   I have fairly small female hands so finding a gaming mouse that wasn’t built for hulk is rough. I went from a g500 to a g500s because I didn’t care for the shape or button placement on the g502. Sadly, my g500s recently died so I went on the hunt for something similar. I picked up the sabre and the glaive to compare and the sabre blew me away. It’s a little smaller profile than the g500s but has a similar ergonomic shape and hand slope. The mouse 4 and 5 are also in a similar spot and feel solid. The dpi buttons are also in a similar spot and the sabre shows you which dpi you’re currently on by adjusting the color shown underneath the buttons. The glaive on the other hand was too large and lacked the ergonomic shape and slope I wanted. The mouse 4 and 5 were also too far apart for my comfort. The dpi button was oddly placed in the middle of the mouse and only went one way which felt dangerous for playing fps. One bad click means I’m a spinning top! Overall I’m pleased with the sabre as an upgrade and looking forward to using it.

   [UPDATED REVIEW (original review is below)] So, I’ve had this mouse for a while now, and I keep meaning to update this review, and just never get around to it, but today was just the breaking point for me. This mouse works great!…..for a while. After just a few weeks, the bluetooth feature would work intermittently, randomly shut off/disconnect/turn back on/start working/repeat, and then a few days after that, it stopped working completely. Ok, fine, I still had the dongle and cord, right? Well, sort of. The battery life with dongle very VERY quickly went from “good” to “ok” to “well, I guess my mouse is just corded now.”. Today, however, was the final straw. I plugged it in, using the included cord, and it refused to even turn on. I tried a different USB port, unplugged both ends of the cord to check for any problems, plugged it back into the mouse before plugging the USB end into my laptop…..which immediately blue-screened upon the first click. It’s such a shame that this mouse went from amazing to poo sandwich after a while, because for the price, you’d really expect it to last longer. I’ve had $8 walmart mice that performed better, for longer, than this expensive piece of junk. I doubt I’ll ever buy another corsair product, as this is the second one of their mice that I’ve purchased, only to be disappointed by shoddy performance, which is such a shame, because the mice are indeed comfortable to use. [OLD REVIEW STARTS HERE – REVIEWED SOON AFTER PURCHASE] First, I have fairly small hands and short-ish fingers, and this mouse is the perfect size and shape for me. The right and left click are in the perfect position, nothing is overly heavy or awkward, and it’s the most comfortable mouse I’ve used so far. I work in the game industry, so I spend most of my day with a mouse in my hand. While the RGB LEDs are extremely cool, and I love being able to use the included utilities to customize and play with them, I did find that with the light on the palm/logo area on the mouse tends to get a little bit warm, but I just switched off that region using the included software and it solved the problem! Overall I absolutely love this mouse and can’t say enough good things about it. I’ve gone through so many mice, gaming and regular, that were too big or too heavy for my small hands,or caused fatigue over a short time, so I was so delighted that this one not only exceeded my expectations, but had none of the cons the rest of the mice I’ve tried have. Also, my boyfriend, who has fairly large hands, used it for a while and he loves it so much that he wants one too!

   Have had it for a year so far. Has an excellent and very accurate sensor, and a wide DPI range. It also matches my K65 and the matte black paint looks really good. The mouse is very ergonomic and fits my hand good in a claw grip. Only problems are the mousewheel because it sometimes scrolls inaccurately, and there seems to be damage on the cord near where it connects to the mouse and I have requested a replacement or repair from Corsair. If they help me with those problems then I will update my review to 5 stars. EDIT: Corsair Support has decided to send me a replacement, updating to 5 stars!

   (Right-Handed Review) Comfort – It’s very comfortable, I have what I would guess average sized hands, they aren’t small but they aren’t big and this is a comfortable fit. I’m not wild about the right wing where my pinky finger rests, but I love the left wing because it keeps my thumb higher up on the mouse to easily go after the thumb buttons. Features – With the corsair software you can customize the buttons for a lot of different things, it is annoying however that the default action of the thumb buttons are Back & Forward in the browser, if you’re like me you’ll want to disable those as soon as you download and setup the software. The DPI is really nicely customized with the software as well as changing the presets and disabling them. Quality – I go through mice all the time, it seems I either end up with unresponsive left-clicking or overly responsive double-clicking. I’ve had Logitech Mice only lasts a few months, steelseries, random chinese knock offs. Regardless of the cost it seems for my heavy use, I only get about 4 – 6 months out of a mouse, we’ll see what happens with this one.o

   Mouse has this problem which randomly starts to double clicking, this problem is so severe that I had to buy another Corsair Glaive which I now regret cause the problem is still here. Don’t get me wrong the mouse shape is great so is its RGB, but this problem is the main reason why you should avoid buying it, its extremely obnoxious and irritating to the point that I’d rather use a 40 Riyals mouse than this.

    The mouse quality is incredible and the weight is perfect. I was using a 115g mouse and this 100g is still just fine! The shape is great for the palm grip I use. The ONLY downside is that I have soft hand skin that tends to sweat easily and this material, although soft/smooth and comfy, causes me to constantly perspire and causes a little bit of discomfort because I have to constantly blow on my hand and mouse to dry it. That’s why I docked a star on “Ergonomic.”

    The box says that it’s a claw grip mouse, however I, a palmer find it very comfortable in my hand. While it says it’s lightweight these things SHOULD be noted: it means lightweight compared to most gaming mice, and that’s very true. I find it much lighter than my friends Logitech mouse (don’t know the model sorry), and it is quite a bit heavier than the average consumer mouse. I switched over from some cheap “Flagpower” Chinese mouse and it was wayy lighter than the Sabre but I prefer the Sabres weight. The skin or paint or whatever they put on the outside of the mouse is almost velvety but it let’s you keep a good grip on it even after your hands get a little sweaty. The icue software is easy to use but I have a little more time to use it before I can say that it’s great. I use it with my HS60’S and I think it’s great so there’s that.

    Like most things in the high end gaming market, whether something is good or not is a matter of personal preference. I bought this mouse as test for a cad lab and was a little dissapointed. Comparing this to a corsair m65 pro my hand just does not fit on it the right way, I dont know why it just doesn’t. It is certainly a more attractive mouse, the lighting looks much nicer on this mouse and it generally has a more discrete look than the m65, but that does not matter all that much too me. It is a fine mouse, everything is high quality and well built, but I just prefer the m65. The ergonomics of the Sabre dont fit my long slender hands I suppose.

    This mouse fits ever so perfectly in the hand. My girlfriend and I both play games, her hands are really tiny and mine are on the bigger size and we both say this mouse is the most comfortable we’ve owned. Love the color customization options, but I do have one gripe. The Glaive does not allow you to customize the DPI indicator colors or allow you to turn them off entirely, you must stick with the blue indicators. I guess that’s Corsair for you, though.

The button/ piece that came off isn’t as important to me since I don’t have a binding for that key therefore I use it now and is great otherwise.

    Love Corsair, and this mouse is no exception. It was the only one in their line that I tried out at PAX that really fit my hand well (as a smaller woman, my hands aren’t huge). It’s design is very comfortable and RGB lighting controlled easily with CUE.     This product looks nice on the outside but if you open it up, its a whole different story. I got this mouse because of the fair price and good reviews. When I received it I noticed it felt a little heavy on the back end. So, in spite of it saying there are no weights inside the mouse I decided to open it up and check. What I found was a very poorly assembled device. For the money they ask for some of their products, I’d expect nothing but the best quality from a company like Corsair. This is just pathetic. In the pictures attached you can see loose screws and damaged threads. Possible further damage from the screws being inserted without care. Damaged cables to the laser because of lack of space. (I can only imagine most of the mice that come from corsair look like this inside due to poor design) Other connections were loose and possibly damaged. The last picture shows damage to the board itself. Though it wouldn’t effect performance or longevity, it certainly shows the lack of care by the employees at Corsair when handling these sensitive materials. I strongly urge people not to buy this product if you want something that will last more than a year.

    Quick Note: I have had the mouse for about 4 days as of the time of writing, so do be sure to take that into account. Should anything change, I will try to come back and update my review accordingly. Also, there is a lot here, and probably more that I have missed, so just a heads up. Bonus note: Apparently the mouse comes with 6 months free unlimited online storage on go-keyboard.com Cloud Drive. It also seems to account for if you already have that by offering bonus time or refunds. Now, I must admit that I had trouble getting the order to ship, so there is a chance that Customer Support gave me that, but nowhere in the email does it say that, nor did the customer service rep. So, if you have already or plan to purchase this mouse, check your email! This email came a couple of hours before the email saying my order had shipped, but keep your eyes open just in case! -My First Impressions (Kind of a Tl;dr) This is a really nice mouse. I am coming from a Mad Catz R.A.T. 3 (which was really comfortable) and so far I am really impressed with the overall feel and look. I feel that it doesn’t have the same “wow” factor the R.A.T 3 did (a lot of people asked if they could touch it), but it is still very nice, very presentable, and has its own unique charm to it. My personal favorite part is the sail on the palm rest, which I think looks a good bit better than the old design they have available. Overall, I really like what I have experienced so far and hope I have no problems with it. -Look and Feel (and grip) – Note: I THINK my hands are on the larger side I have to say that I was worried about how the mouse would feel because my last one absolutely spoiled me, but I find it to be very comfortable for extended durations of use. It has little wings on the side to keep your thumb, pinky, and ring fingers from rubbing against your mat/desk/whatever. I find that the tips of my index and pinky still touch my mat occasionally, but it’s not enough to cause any problems or discomfort while gaming or working. It could be a little longer, but I find that’s a rather minor issue. Fingertip and Claw Grip (and large hand users): I believe it is advertised as a claw grip mouse, but I use somewhat of a hybrid between fingertip and claw (closer to claw, but with fingers at a lower angle and wrist further back) and have no issues. I tried to emulate both grips as best as I could, and I’d say that both should be fine. I could click the mouse buttons pretty rapidly and reach almost all the buttons with ease. With claw grip, I had a harder time reaching Button 8 (behind scroll wheel), and with fingertip, I had a hard time reaching Button 6 (next to “SAIR” imprint on left-click). I’ll go into the buttons a more further down, but I wanted to give a heads up to you guys. To my large handed people, I won’t say too much because I don’t know how hand sizes really work or are measured, but I think you would be fine if you use these grips Palm Grip (and large hand users): Since I don’t use palm grip, I cannot say for certain how this mouse will perform for you, but when I tried it, it was definitely useable. It felt a little unnatural, but I was able to left and right click rather easily and rapidly. Button 4 (behind scroll wheel) is hard to get to, but every other button felt accessible. For those worried about Buttons 7 (next to left click without writing), don’t. For some reason, it’s a lot easier to click than 6. I could move my finger over both and easily press B7. B6 (next to writing) needs serious work. That one requires effort, but I’ll discuss that later. Large handers, depending on how big your hand is, there may be finger overhang, but moving mine up and down the mouse didn’t drastically effect click time or effort. Also, for palm-handers in general, most of the weight of my hand fell right near the knuckles, palm side, of index and middle finger. I don’t know if that’s normal, but I felt it was worth mentioning. All in all, I felt it was usable, but I think it’d be worth seeing if you can find one in a store that will let you try it out for yourself. -RGB Lighting This is my first RGB mouse, and I really like what they have done. The scroll wheel, palm rest, front side, and DPI indicator all light up, and all are customizable to your liking. As Carter’s review mentioned, the front-side light isn’t that bright at all. In fact, it’s hardly noticeable unless you use a bright color like bright green or pink. All the other lights are very nice, however. Both the scroll wheel and palm rest are very bright, and the DPI indicator looks nice, but isn’t distracting to the eye. As for the different types of lighting, you can have a Rainbow effect where the lights change randomly at 3 speeds, just a Solid Color, a Color Pulse where the lights fade in and out between two separate colors at 3 speeds, and a Color Shift, where the lights change directly between colors at two different speeds. NOTE: Color effects are for all but DPI Indicator light, that’s just a solid color. But, the other three can have any of the four effects, separate or together. Really well done overall. Quick Note: Lighting is optional, and can be turned off. -DPI and Performance – Note: Go to this section to customize the DPI Indicator light There is a ton you can do here. This is the first mouse I’ve actually made custom profiles for (could do it on the R.A.T., but didn’t use it), and the DPI customization is great! You can have up to five different settings, but they give you the ability to enable or disable them however you please (I use two atm), and set which one you want to be the default. You can also have the X & Y axis bound together, or customize them separately. DPI goes all the way up to 10,000. They also have sections for adjusting Lift Height (Low, Middle, High), Angle Snapping (Enable, Disable), Pointer Speed (Slow to fast, and everywhere in-between), and Enhance Pointer Precision (Yes, No). I don’t know what most of those do, but I assume it’s good that they give you options. I don’t know too much about the sensor itself, but I can tell you that the mouse is very responsive and I have seen no stutter or freezing whatsoever. -Buttons This is where I think the biggest downfall is. Most of the buttons are great, but Button 6 (next to writing, left click) is hard to press, and Button 8 (behind scroll wheel) can be hard to get to depending on your grip style. B8 I can forgive, because we knew that was there from the pictures, but B6 is unnecessarily hard to press. B7 (below it) has a nice, solid click when pressed, but not B6. I think this may be by design to prevent accidental button pressing, but I don’t think that would’ve happened that much anyway. B6 is way too resistive compared to the rest. -Scroll Wheel The scroll wheel is really nice. It’s segmented, meaning it has notches that make rolling it solid and tactile, but not difficult. It also has a nice rubber feel, but is not hard to the point of discomfort. It has a nice solid click, and feels very responsive to my finger. Do note though that it does not tilt. Only rolling and regular middle clicking. Since the scroll wheel was the first to break on my last mouse, I’m trying to be extra careful with this one, but I will update if anything happens with it. -Corsair Utility Engine and Customization as a whole There is a ton you can do. If this isn’t your first time with Corsair, then you probably know what to expect, but if not, they really allow you to make the mouse your own. Between the color, lighting, and button assignments, there are a lot of ways you can customize this mouse. You can assign any of the buttons however you want, including having macros, keystrokes, shortcuts, timers, even media controls. You can have different modes and profiles for the mouse, of which you can change by assigning a button to do so OR by binding them to individual programs. Apparently you can even download custom profiles and lighting schemes from Corsair’s website and upload your own. There’s on-screen-display settings which I assume let you track your mouse’s performance. There’s even something called Cue Link which I believe lets you synchronize the lighting across multiple Corsair devices (like headsets, keyboards, and mice). I have not used it extensively, but I feel as though there’s a lot to offer here for people who want/need a lot of customization. I really like what they have to offer, but definitely Google it more to see if there’s a more in-depth discussion going on somewhere. Maybe ask around on Reddit as well. Quick Note: CUE has it’s own forum that you can check out here: […] -Other (Cable, packaging, Warranty, etc) The cable is braided and of nice quality. I think it will hold up very well in the long run. You may want a twist tie or a Velcro tie of some sort, because it is fairly long. The packaging was really nice, and pulls open so that you can see the mouse inside (like a presentation sort of deal). To get the mouse cable out, Pop Outwards the tab on the backside, not in. It took me a while to get that. The warranty is one year, I believe, but does not cover accidents or mistreatment. It’s probably a good idea to pick up an Accidental Warranty from SquareTrade or another place. -Final Thoughts This is a really nice mouse, especially for the price. It feels solid and comfortable to the touch, the RGB lighting is really cool, customization is great, and overall it’s very responsive and nice to look at. So far, I’m really happy with my purchase, but I will update accordingly if the need arises (which I hope never happens).

    I love this mouse. It sits perfectly in my hand, the thumb rest makes is easy to slide around without dragging your hand. It feels solid, but is still very light, and the buttons are smooth, yet not enough where you might accidently press them just by resting a finger on them. There are a few areas that you can customize the light to whatever colors you want, and they can all be different if you would like.
