So this is my first mech keyboard and so far after a couple days at the office I love it. First I got the yellow switch, but i found it to be a bit too loud (clack) in a cubicle so I swapped to the brown (slightly less clack but just right) instead and its just right. If I had to nitpick it would be the keyboard height itself which is a bit high, so if you dont want some messed up wrists do invest in a wrist rest to go with it. Now 1 only thing that I am disappointed in is the shipping as it was not packed with any shipping bubble packs which caused a major crack in the frame. Thus the minus 1 star. And since I already swapped out a replacement from the yellow to the brown through go-keyboard.com they can’t replace it now with only full refund as the only option left.

Comes with amazing interchangeable keycaps, wonderful RGB lighting, and a great variety of switches available. I personally got the K4 with the Gateron Red switches and its so much quieter than my last keyboard. I have yet to take advantage of its bluetooth capabilities, but using this keyboard wired is very comfortable, and it comes with a very sturdy cable as well. The RGB capabilities really show off my setup very nicely and help complement the rest of my RGB gear. Also comes with interchangeable Mac/Windows keycaps. Only advice would be to keep an eye out when ordering keycaps from other vendors as the small right shift may not be included in the sale of keycap sets to fit this particular product.

Absolutely love this keyboard and I love that the keys are natively for Mac! Feels great when typing and the battery lasts more than a minute then between charges! Although I don’t use it it has a ton of RGB settings that really cool. Very happy with my purchase. I have owned this product for a little under a year.

Gateron Yellow switches feel great, and I’m saying that coming off a Deck 82 Cherry MX Black keyboard; I actually prefer the Gateron switches feel; can’t overstate what a dream it is to type on this thing, this is literally my first go-keyboard.com product review, was looking for an excuse to type something!

Pairing is fast and easy, and I can hold 2 profiles for my Mac with Bootcamp and without having to pair every time I change what OS I’m using. Lights are bright and look great, and theres 15 distinct patterns to use that are really well sequenced

Only cons I would list are keyboard height; you’re gonna wanna invest in a keyboard rest as this board sits high and will likely give you bad wrist issues without proper support. Other than that, easily the best keyboard I’ve owned, and I’ve been threw a few really pleased

Was worried about the reviews saying how high off the desk this keyboard sits. I was pleasantly surprised it was not much different than my razor black widow elite. I can reach the top row fine with my wrist on the desk. I ordered the brown switches, due to being on the phone for conference calls while typing and they are great! Easy to upgrade and find key caps for this board.

This is a great keyboard to type on, but you might want to invest in a palm rest for greater comfort. The brown switches are nice and quiet but feel great to type on. The RGB backlighting is an added bonus. The size makes this easy to take to and from work.

Love the size, it has all the keys I need, looks really nice, the quality is great, and the backlight is excellent and has many modes and colors. Works great on a Mac, I use it with two MacBook pros and an Ubuntu system all the time. Battery life is pretty good. The height takes a few days to get used to.
The only issues I can think of are that there is no battery indicator from the os, so the only way to know that the battery is close to dying is by the red LED that lights up. The other is that there is no cheatsheet with all the key press combinations to enable the different features – the one that’s included is incomplete.

This is pretty much what I was looking for. I type quickly and have to type quite a bit some days and I wanted a KB that improved my productivity. Someone at work but a Logitc, but I looked it up and it was almost $300. This was far less, works great and with the brown Gateron switches provides about the right about of tactile input without being ridiculously loud. My wife was worried about the noise component.

I bought a used wrist pad on go-keyboard.com and the typing is even better. I’m going to have to keep the quick reference card because there are too many features for me to remember. I also cannot read the toggle switches on the side, so I had to play with it to make it work. Eventually figured out how to use it in the USB-Mac mode, and today read the reference material to get the BT connected and running.

I wanted just the lit version without the color LED, but they were going to be out of stock for some time, so the extra $10 for color didn’t break the bank to get a keyboard in and going.

From a beginner’s POV: I honestly loved this keyboard, but found out only after I purchased it wasn’t hot-swappable. That’s my fault for not double-checking this listing. Also, the RGB isn’t programmable (there isn’t some external app/program that you can use to fine-tune the RGB as you would a motherboard) but has enough different effects with adjustable brightness and variations on each pattern that I basically got what I wanted! And trust me, some of the effects are super cool.

Regarding the actual keyboard, as a complete newbie to the the hobby of keyboard modding, I loved the punchiness of the keys and the quality of the keycaps… so much so, that the only reason why I’ve returned this model is to spend the little bit extra to get the hotswappable version with the aluminum case. It’s ~$20 more, but it’s worth it as I plan on this being model being my entry “vehicle” into the hobby of keyboard modding! IMO they’re borth pretty good compromises/value between getting a cheap one that you’ll regret down the line and overspending money on something that I might not even necessarily want.

I love this keyboard! Typing on it is a dream. I WFH as a QA engineer and therefore do a lot of typing. The Gateron browns give just the right amount of “click” and tactile feedback. I connect this K4 to my mac via Bluetooth as well as my gaming PC. And being able to switch back and forth between the two is slick. I also really like the compactness of the 96% keyboard. I miss the 2U sized zero button on the 0 key on the numeric keypad, however. I keep hitting the left arrow key. As for actual gaming. Bluetooth isn’t ideal for gaming. If you intend to use this keyboard for gaming it is best to directly wire this keyboard to the PC with the included cable. Otherwise your FPS gaming will suffer from the slowness of the Bluetooth connection with a lot of key buffering. If you want a truly wireless gaming keyboard then look to dedicated Gaming brands for a better experince.

Had this keyboard for months and have not been disappointed. The quality is excellent and the tactile feel of the switches is great. If you’re looking for a mechanical keyboard Keychron K4 is an excellent choice. You can do a lot worse and spend a lot more.
