   My laptop keyboard died so I bought this, now I think I’ll always be using an external mechanical board. It sounds great stock but adding some PE foam, tape, and some cheap doubleshot pbt keys and I get all the thock I could want. Honestly sometimes I’ll just tap on the keys while reading just cause it sounds so nice.

   Highly recommend as a mod-able platform for beginners in the mechanical key board world! I bought this as a quick way to test out gateron key switches and was VERY surprised at the great quality, stock key caps, sturdy ness and integrated features. (Note: I don’t use Bluetooth, I used wired and most of the negative reviews are about that so please read further, other wise this is my personal review as a gamer, streamer and keyboard enthusiast) First off, it came in one day which was very impressive And once opening the package I was met with a very nice keyboard and thick breaded cable. It’s a plastic shell but to my surprise it has absolutely no deck flex and feels very weighty which I learned was due to its nice thick metal plate over the hot swap pcb Although the key cap set it comes with is not the prettiest in the world {at least in my opinion} it is easily changeable and is very good quality, featuring curved edges for a perfect typing experience The key switches are exposed and there is a noticeable gap between the shell and the key switches It has a spacious layout having the F() keys spaced out and the arrow keys a bit removed along with the media keys. It has different modes like windows or mac and Bluetooth or wired which is helpful for tuning your experience and the keyboard works on both platforms {I tested} Although most of my keyboards don’t have rgb I very much enjoy the white lights coming through the key switches and in between the keys because it really brings out the cap set I bought especially for this keyboard (in the pictures) – The rgb has different modes {which are very unique, some including: breathing, a wave, key by key, and others} But in my opinion the best feature is the sheer customizability: Like I said before it is great for testing new switches and it features a high quality hot-swap pcb that I had no issues putting in and taking out multiple sets of switches The fact that you can visibly see what switches you have in currently is not only great for a collector but also displays and testers I plan to use this keyboard to test key cap sets and key switches ———————————-————————— Over all very good and comparable to brands on go-keyboard.com like Akko which I also recommended, good luck -romu567

   The keycaps are a lot better than previous concave caps I used on other keyboards. Love the convenience of using wired or bluetooth, connection swapping, and functional buttons like the screen capture and voice assistant are just a cherry on top to this keyboard!

   This Keychron K8 has been my daily driver for nearly 2 years, and is still working as well as it did on the day I bought it. The full support provided for Macs, including Mac-specific keycaps, is a rare thing and a very welcome thing. The only fault I would point out is the longevity of the stock keycaps, as they are printed over a clear interior to make them shine-through capable, but are susceptible to wear from finger oils. It only took a few weeks for things to start getting funky on frequently used keys (worn out holes where legible keycap printing once was, with light bleeding through), to the point where I just had to toss them and start over. This turned it into a project keyboard ($$$), which honestly is a major part of the fun with hot-swappable keyboards. I bought Kailh Polia switches to replace the Gateron Browns, and sturdy non-shine-through dye sublimated PBT keys, which left me with a solid, reliable keyboard that performs very well. I just had to spend a bit more money to get there. Having said that, you could just swap out the keycaps alone for not that much money to address the problematic stock keycaps and call it a day. In the end, the asking price is still very fair for what you get.

   I built this in March of 2021 (it’s now April 2022) and many of the keys have died. I added banana split switches and have changed the keycaps twice. I take it apart and clean it regularly which sometimes helps when I have a dead key but now several keys don’t work. You have to slam on the keys to make the keyboard register that you are pressing them. Now it’s possible that it is the switches that died and not the base keyboard but I doubt it. I use my keyboard daily but in an extremely regular manner. I’m not a novelist or gamer or anything. I don’t type 100k words a day… I just use it for work. It also tends to be worse when I haven’t used it in a while. Additionally the bluetooth connectivity never worked (I have an iMac). I have used it corded since the day I got it. So it was good for the price at the time but honestly I expected it to work for longer than 1 year.

   Cortana/voice AI assistant button is the most annoying feature! This one triggers often times by pressing the button mistakenly since it’s so closed to the print screen button and the backlit light switch button! And, every time it would bring the Cortana assistant on Windows which is like a hard modal dialog box, super hard to close! Obviously, there’s fault on Microsoft side getting the AI App wrong! However, it’s more so on Keychron being an accomplice of creating most terrible user experience! Product needs USB-C and some update on keys Following to note, – Need USB-C supported cable, most notebooks don’t have USB classic ports anymore – unnecessary microphone button needs to be removed. It is extremely annoying on Windows, it opens up a useless Cortana dialog box that would never go away!! Seems buggy! – add the break (usually paired with Print Screen) button for Windows if possible – For windows, the print screen button (top right, next to microphone button) needs to be renamed for clarity I had been using this product at work for quite some time. I have mentioned the inconveniences and scope of improvement above based on experience.

   I’m very disappointed with quality of this purchase. The keyboard was marked as new at time of purchase. Once I opened the box it was shipped in I realized the keyboards actual packaging was extremely beat up and missing the plastic wrap completely. After removing the keyboard it was apparent this was a used keyboard. Several keycaps are scuffed up on the sides and the extras have smudges on the tops of them as if they have been used. Going forward I will purchase directly from Keychron. This is unacceptable for an item that was supposed to be new. Someone should have caught this before it was shipped in this condition.

    Die Tastatur weist überall Kratzer auf, ist mit fettigen Fingerabdrücken übersät und der USB C Port an der Tastatur sieht ziemlich ramponiert aus. Finde sowas in dem Preis Segment extrem frech und würde bei Keychron nie wieder etwas kaufen. Einfach die Tatsache vorher benutzte Sachen für den Neupreis zu bekommen absolutes nogo!!!

    This is my first mechanical keyboard so everything about it is very new to me. I have nothing to compare it to, other than my laptop’s keyboard, which is very different. The transition to a mechanical keyboard took getting used to, especially since this is much more raised and clicky. It give me wrist fatigue during long hours of typing, which I’m considering a wrist rest for that. The keycaps look and feel nice and typing has become a bit more satisfying, so my first impression of a mechanical keyboard has been great.

    I also don’t have a desk pad so it gets quite loud. I don’t mind the sound, since it’s different for me and a little satisfying. I might end up getting sick of it though. Just make sure the people around you, (in person or in call,) don’t hate you for it, unless you’re alone.
