Best Keyboard for any mac. It’s a little loud but no big deal as it’s very nice to type with and play games with.
The keyboard is mac lay out so don’t buy it if you have a pc.

I really wanted to like this product. However, with the Razer products you have to use their Synapse software to configure. This keyboard and my other two Razer products were wonderful until Synapse broke and hung. Now I can’t get into Synapse, my key bindings no longer work and support is non-existent. I submitted an email but the response is it could be days before I even hear from anyone — if that happens at all. So, I am dead in the water.

This keyboard is incredible. I am a student and a writer, so I write a couple thousand words a day. The tactile feedback and ergonomic design of the keyboard really helps you pound out the words without your hands cramping up, and it’s fun to listen to. The backlights are bright, too. One setback is that I had a little bit of difficulty setting up macros like dimming and stuff. But i figured it out. (It may be different fo you, but to dim the scree, it’s F14, and F15 to brighten it). It arrived right on time, with quality boxing and padding for shipping.

I’ve typed on pretty much everything from manual typewriters, to Selectrics to IBM keypunch machines and terminals, to the original IBM PC and AT keyboards, to the modern bargain basement garbage keyboards that are sold with modern computers, and this is without a doubt one of the best I’ve ever used. The build quality is excellent, and it seems to be one of the best made pieces of equipment I’ve ever used. The feel of the keys, the key switches, pretty much everything about it is first rate.
I got the Mac version and it’s hooked to a fairly new iMac and it’s been working flawlessly. I don’t use macros or anything like that, and so can’t comment on the software that allows heavy customization of the keyboard. I use it as a straight keyboard, and it’s well worth the money. The quality is actually better than Das Keyboard which used to be my favorite. In a head to head competition between the Das Keyboard and the Black Widow, the Black Widow wins as far as quality and feel are concerned.

Trading in a PC for an iMac as my everyday rig came with some pain and anguish, but replacing the Bluetooth Mac keyboard for a “real” keyboard eases some of that pain. I had to wait a little longer than I wanted for a Mac layout version of this newest revision of the BlackWidow Ultimate to become available, but the wait was worth it. The Razer “Green Switch” mechanical keys are very satisfying, though a stealth version would have been preferable. For gaming, writing grad school papers, as well as dabbling in some software development projects, this keyboard is excellent. Again, I wish there were a BlackWidow Stealth available with the Mac layout, but that is not enough to reduce my 5 Star opinion of this product. This keyboard lives up to my expectations of a Razer product, and I give it my highest recommendation.

Do not buy this keyboard. It looks great in writing – but the quality control is just not there. I have already had to RMA two, due to certain keys not ‘clicking’ the same as the other… and my third? already has a key that isn’t ‘clicking’ either. Razer never should have gotten into the switch business, they should have just stuck with making keyboards using the Cherry switches theveryone ELSE uses, and are a proven product.

I bought this keyboard right before the 2014 holiday season. Works great alongside my MacBook Pro with all the regular Mac function keys available and working as expected.

Bad support for Mac OS. Keys randomly change between needing function to use function keys to not. Died after a year of non heavy use.

Keys register multiple keystrokes even if there’s only 1 stroke. The volume and brightness buttons don’t mimic the Mac’s keyboard. Synapse 2 – the driver software for Razer products is extremely buggy. More often than not, it will not run. When it does, it will have glitches. Very few smooth runs. Lastly, for a product that’s not perfect, it’s very expensive.
