   Mercury version does NOT has same build quality as that of original razer blackwidow X (Black version) Please keep in mind that this is NOT ONLY the difference of color. As you see on the picture, they changed key stabilizer structure from original blackwidow X. Now, positions of enter, shift etc keys CAN’T BE FIXED firmly. The key position moves a lot which makes me feel I have very CHEAP keyboard.

   I picked this up because my boyfriend has this in black and was super happy to see that this came in white to match my setup. This is absolutely stunning. Even prettier than I thought it would be. The colors are extremely customizable through the synapse. I use the wave effect but with more pastel colors since it’s not only less distracting but it looks super cute. I turned off the game light effects in Overwatch since I don’t exactly look down at the keys while I play so I’d rather just have my rainbow wave continuously going. It has a very good weight to it and doesn’t slide around while being used. The clicking sound is like music to my ears. Overall, it’s an amazing keyboard and I highly recommend!

   Yo compre este teclado porque quería un teclado mecánico de gaming a pesar de que no soy gamer. Quería el teclado por la iluminación rgb y por su durabilidad, lo uso tanto para programación como para tareas de trabajo comunes en la computador. Este es un teclado MECANICO para gaming por lo cual es bastante ruidoso, lo cual a mi en lo particular no me molesta en lo absoluto, al contrario, me encanta escuchar el sonido de las teclas, sin embargo esto no es para todos. Si estas buscando un teclado RGB hay otras opciones mas silenciosas. Si, de lo contrario quieres escuchar cada teclazo, sin importar la hora del día o de la noche, adelante, tiene un sonido muy agradable y fuerte. Adicionalmente hay que decir que este es un teclado MUY pesado, obvio esta pensado para los gamers, para que el teclado no se mueva de lugar cuando están jugando. Nuevamente esta es una característica que a mi en lo particular me gusta. En cuestión de las opciones RGB y programabilidad del teclado, es excelente, solo que depende del software Synapse de Razer así que hay que tener en consideración que hay que instalar ese software para poder programar las teclas para acciones especificas o para configurar perfiles de colores. Puedes bajar muchos perfiles de colores de internet.
   Si tienes Mac, el teclado funciona sin ningún problema, la versión Synapse 2 funciona en Mac. La versión Synapse 3 por el momento solo funciona en PC/Windows.

   Great looking keyboard and clacky enough for me. The software, which is in beta if you are using synapse 3, is really buggy.    Review for Blackwidow X Chroma I have the keyboard for over a week after buying it discounted off Black Friday. So far, the product has been great. It completes my Chroma desk with my Deathadder and Firefly. I’m upgrading from an Apple USB keyboard so the switches and overall typing experience is much more enjoyable for me. Switches sound great, but some might say they are pretty loud. Quality is top notch, but the lighting is what really gets people’s attention. The synapse software is very easy to use and you’re able to sync the keyboard with other peripherals. I definitely recommend this product!

    This keyboard is awesome. Razer products are definitely hit or miss because of their poor quality control. I believe I have had pretty good luck with their peripherals. I have the same keyboard in black and have had it for 2 years now as my primary keyboard. have never had any issues and the quality is great. There is a perfect amount of feedback from the keys in my opinion. The keyboard is really clicky so using this in an office setting may drive your co-workers nuts. But for gaming and general use at home, it is perfect. I liked the keyboard so much I decided to pick up another one to pair with my new mercury white razer blade. So far so good!

    Super low profile, super heavy for a keyboard, a totally entrancing lighting system. Oh, and one of the best mechanical keyboards to boot, it really doesn’t get much better than this. Reclaim your desk! I did. Pros: It’s everything you dreamed of in a keyboard and more. Super comfortable to use (might need to supply your own wrist wrest), even for schoolwork. And yes, it will make you respond faster in games. It almost stopped me from sucking! Fully customizable lighting, key by key (or groups of keys). Cons: I put this keyboard in my bedroom. I proceeded to show her Rocket League, which she loved. After she stopped playing, I put on my headset and did my best to not make a peep.     Good Lord God Almighty, this keyboard is awesome! I have tried the Axio keyboards, and Corsair Mechanical, but this thing blows them both out of the water. I grew up on an Apple IIe keyboard, which was one of the best ever made. This Razer BlackWidow X mechanical keyboard has action that is memorable of the old Apple IIe. My typing speed has probably improved by 30% over what it was with a non-mechanical keyboard. If you type well, and want to type better, you will absolutely love this this thing. Yes, you have to pay a little more than other brands, but it boils down to need. Do you need to type in your life? If so, buy it. If not, well get out a number #2 pencil and goto town 🙂 I’ve included a picture of my Razer with this review.. My favorite option is to use “Static Green.” So it is fairly bright, and reminds me of the color of old monochrome screens 🙂

    I purchased one as a present for dear ol’ Mom last Xmas so she would enjoy typing and be productive. She loves the key action. So I bought another for myself. Like the bright white color of the key caps. The feel is that of the olde’ keyboards of the past. Clicky click is cool. The color change patterns are good but not best. Difficult to choose a color, seems I like the darkest grey the best when leaving key lights on, (Dim is not very dim!)! The base is metal and heavy so my hands don’t push it around the desk! The height of the board and keys are excellent for a seasoned out of practice typist! Other considerations are that the shift/Symbols on the caps do not light up, so under dim lighting I really have to have them memorized. The symbols that don’t illuminate should be more big/bold! I also notice the the Pause/Break (moon) key is harsh/sticky when depressing (maybe its that way for a reason?). Out of the box I had to reconfigure one key, the [Up Arrow] is not properly programmed in the software. I had to manually change it to scroll up in web pages like normal!!! Maybe the keys could be spaced a little farther apart but, it may just be my big old hands. Tired of dark black, time to introduce some color into the office! Maybe one day they will make blue key caps!

    I’ve owned this keyboard for little over two years now. Unfortunately recently the keyboard is randomly disconnecting and reconnecting to my computer without notice. Don’t get me wrong, the keyboard is absolutely stunning! It’s just unfortunate that right after the 2-year warranty this is happening. I’ve done a hefty amount of research about what could be causing this. I’ve updated all of my drivers and even deleted and re-downloaded razer synapse. Still nothing. I stumbled across a guy on Reddit that was having the same issue as me. He annotated that he had his gaming setup on a carpet floor just like I do, carpet floors equal built up static and static is this keyboards worst enemy. I was sure that this was the issue so I purchased some rubber key caps to try and reduce the amount of static being transferred to this keyboard. Still nothing. I’ve never had an instance where I’ve shocked my keyboard but still thought it would be worth trying. Overall, this keyboard is fantastic. The Razer greens are nice and clicky, they feel very pleasing when typing or gaming. The keyboard itself is aesthetically pleasing and receives a lot of compliments. I was hoping this would be my keyboard for years to come, but unfortunately this problem persists. It’s just a very frustrating issue that I’ve tried everything in my power to resolve but no end result that I’m looking for.

    Keep in mind, this is my first mechanical keyboard so I don’t have the experience as some others do. From a neophyte’s perspective I can honestly this beats every single membrane keyboard in terms of looks, feel, and functionality. The RGB lights look even better in person than in video and so does the metal finish. If you’re going for the simplistic look in your setup look no further than the BlackWidow X. It’s so well made. It even seems like this should cost more than the original. For those who are worried about the switch from membrane to mechanical, it took me about 1 minute to start typing fast again. I will update if there are any problems, but so far I give it 5 stars.

    LOVE the look! I always wanted a blackwidow but never bit the bullet to buy it. I immediately decided to purchase it when I saw there’s a white one. So far it had been working perfectly, except for the times Synapse wouldn’t work. The color in the first pic is a bit off since I have a yellow light bulb. The second one is more accurate. Make sure you download the newest Synapse software for things like overwatch chroma colors. It’s awesome! I use it intensively for work, on Pro Tools (audio software if you don’t know). I have macros programmed on it, and linked Pro Tools to the profile. As long as Synapse doesn’t bug out, it’s been running perfectly. As mentioned, the Synapse software does sometimes mess up. I absolutely hate when I’m in full screen game and the app just stops working, making my whole keyboard unusable… Normally it’ll work if I close the app down but in full screen mode, sometimes it’s not an option since sometimes you need to press a key to use cursor… What I did was hook up another keyboard just to exit out of the game. Try reinstall the software if it randomly stops working. There’s really nothing else you can do as they are still trying to develop the software.

    The keyboard is aluminum and it gives it some sturdiness. However, if you’re looking for a quality keyboard look elsewhere. The keyboards keys are white, but had a lot of dark spots/looked dirty. Also the aluminum part had a few scuffs. This product has serious QC issues.

    Brand new in box. My box wasn’t dented or scuffed like other reviewers. Still had factory bag and seals on it. After plugging in once to see if it worked, it did. I unplugged it and replaced the keycaps with the ones pictured. I’ve been using these replacement double shot caps on my old Blackwidow Chroma for 3 months no issue. After moving them to this new model, I plugged in and after about 5 minutes, the entire midsection of the keyboard has wonky lights. They’re flickering, some only do red, some only green, some only blue, some nothing at all. Really a joke of how quickly it stopped working. The keys themselves work fine, but i’m not keeping this $160 equipment when it doesn’t work as intended less than an hour out of box.

    Razer BlackWidow X Chroma. I have to say, this is possibly the best keyboard I have ever used. I love the RBG lighting effect, the clicky sound of the newly revamped Razer green switches is something I definitely cannot live without; they sound almost identical to MX cherry blues. Once you go blue, you can never type on a non clicky keyboard again. Razer recently changed their switch supplier and has made incredible strides in terms of quality and performance. I actually returned my Corsair K70 RGB keyboard because I couldn’t stand how terrible the clicks were. I actually made a mistake when I was at the store buying it; I confused the key-switch ‘click’ with the actual key bottoming out. Corsair used a grey style switch which gave a ‘tactile’ response; tactile means mushy to me. I prefer a clean ‘snap’ of the switches. As far as this keyboard goes, here is what I love about it: – Awesome clicky keys – Heavy, strong built metal frame – Incredible RGB’s (better than my Corsair K70 lights ever were) – Smoothly, light, and crisp keystrokes – Cable management trenches in the back of the keyboard Here is what I didn’t particularly like: – No wrist pad; I have seen some Razer products with magnetic wrist pads and that would’ve been awesome – Super small font on some keys, making the RGBs more difficult to see (the ‘alt’ button has very minimal light that passes through, but I would still consider the RGB effect to be much better than competition) The price for this is also very fair. For about $100 dollars, you get the best RGB’s in the market with switches that go head-to-head with the legendary cherry mx blues; how can you beat that? Other manufacturers will typically be much higher, and I don’t think there is any price that can compare to this quality. But really, this is by far my most fun keyboard to use, code, type, and game with. In fact, I’m writing this review with it right now, this has been my longest review of a product I have ever written.. coincidence? I think not! 🙂 I have a Das Pro also, but I use that one for work. I would have to rank them nearly the same in terms of typing performance. They Das pro is a little bit better in terms of keystroke performance, but not by much. BUT, the Das pro doesn’t have LEDs. Which is why I use the Das Pro at work while keeping the Razer BlackWidow X Chroma at home. I really enjoy this keyboard, I made the switch to mechanical boards about a year ago and to be honest, it changes my perspective. I love this keyboard, and I’m sure you will too!!!! If anything quality related happens, I will be sure to update this post as to what happened. (Note: for the picture, I did purchase some PBT white plastic keycaps which really seem to help the RGB’s shine through even more!!!!)
