The keyboard is sleek and luxurious and the sound, sounds different from any other keyboard. More like a typewriter. The lighting is a little dull but i replaced the keycaps and now it looks epic.

   I have this and the Corsair k95 Platinum, and in comparison, this one is more comfortable. I added the hyper x pudding key caps, but the stock ones are great as well. I highly recommend this product to anyone who appreciates a clicky keyboard with good response.

   Let me start by saying that this seems like a really nice keyboard although I really haven’t had a chance to truly use it since it arrived damaged (see picture). The keys have a very good feel and sound and the lighting affects are really neat as well. I ordered this as an go-keyboard.com renewed item and it was listed as “Used – Very Good”. In that situation I expect some possible cosmetic blemishes but nothing actually broken. The keyboard that arrived was literally bent on the corner, causing the Escape button to not work. It seems that the folks at go-keyboard.com didn’t take much time inspecting this return before repackaging and selling it again. Will try this one more time and if I still have issues then will have to go the new route.

   I have owned this keyboard for several months, and am generally happy with it. However, I am NOT amused with Razer’s poor quality control and terrible customer service. As you can see from the attached photograph, my keyboard arrived with two F6 keys and no F3. This is purely a cosmetic issue, and one which should have been easily solved. Instead, Razer flat-out refused to send the missing keycap and demanded that I give them $120 until they send me a replacement device. Wihle they promised to refund the money once the defective keyboard is returned, that is not an acceptible answer.

   With this being optomechanical gives it automatically the best rating possible. The sound is really good (If you’re into clicky) the feeling of each keypress is a bliss, and the speed of it. And don’t get me started on the RGB. For 200 dollars, is a good deal, but for 130, it is completely unbeatable.

   This was a gift for my son, he loves it! He can change the function of the keys since it’s programmable, he changes the colors, his system has mostly RGB all over so this keyboard fits perfectly. I know my son is having fun so I am very happy with the purchase! And I love the wrist rest as well. Not the cheapest one but you get what you pay for! Nice quality! Highly recommend!

   I like this keyboard a LOT. The keys are responsive, the wrist rest is nice. The keys are a little loud. But I’m not too fussed about that. I do love the way the keys feel though. What I do not like about the keyboard is the light behind the keys doesn’t show the shift settings . For example the key value for Shift+7 is the “&” symbol. the “&” is not lit up. Is this a huge deal? Not really… I know where the “&” is; but it would be nice to see it when its dark (as it most often is in my room) especially for the other keys I may not know as well as the & key.

   UPDATE: I did get a brand new one from Razer Support. I no longer have any issues with the keys repeating. After over a year tho with the replacement, I can say I’m still not super satisfied with this keyboard. Some of my gaming keys that get a lot of traffic are having the paint come off. This keyboard will be going in the closet as a backup & I will no longer be purchasing any more razer keyboards in the future. Old review: Currently dealing with support. Will likely need this returned or replaced thru the manufacturer’s warranty. I bought this in May of 2020 & 4 months in, I’m having an issue of my ‘H’ key repeating after hitting the key once. It’s been very frustrating as I use this for both work & gaming. I can’t go thru typing 1 sentence without having to correct all the extra H’s. I’ve checked online, uninstalled – reinstalled drivers, unplugged everything, disconnected the wrist pad, cleaned the keyboard, but to no avail. A $200 keyboard should hold up better than this. If Razer support pulls thru for me, I’ll update this review.. if not I’m never buying another Razer product again. I looooved this keyboard when I first got it. Just one faulty key has caused so much frustration. Also- Synapse is awful software. I do want to say that I find the cushioned wrist pad very comfortable.. but even this is warping on the left side. I REALLY wanted to love this keyboard, at least for more than 3 months.

    This keyboard is amazing!! The quality of the keyboard and buttons is beyond what I was expecting… The mechanical keys are What I wanted and perform perfectly… The RGB & added keyboard functions like volume control dial are amazing… Only thing is make sure you want a Mechanical keyboard like this because it’s extremely clacky when pressing the keys… which is what I wanted however this isn’t just a little noise it’s quite loud! So if that would bother you go with the other type of keys that are membrane style.

    The wrist rest is a bit short, my palm touches the cold aluminum occasionally. And if your right hand is on the arrow keys, it will definitely rest on the aluminum. So I double tape some cloth to it, now it feels right.

    The short: It’s a good sturdy keyboard, with amazing Purple switches and uncountable different customization options regarding the software and RGB. The good: It’s a very good and premium keyboard, one of Razer their best products as of today! Combined with the Razer Synapse software the keyboard is amazing. The quality of the keyboard is good with the hand rest being made from premium materials. Its amazing for gaming and is definitely the best of the best. The bad: It’s quite noisy (which is because it’s a mechanical keyboard), It’s quite pricey but go-keyboard.com has a good deal on it!

    Awesome and robust keyboard. With terrific lighting options if you work in the dark and/or if you like to be ostentatious. The wrist rest has a great feel and the LED stripe under it that glows in sync with the keyboard is a nice bonus. If you have a black glass desk, it looks like it’s floating. Very surreal. 🙂 My only nitpick is that multimedia and secondary keys have their symbols decaled on and don’t glow, despite the keycaps being lit underneath. This took me a little while to adjust to, but it’s by no means a deal-breaker. A newer version does have these keys light up along with other features, but it’s also going to cost more. This model I’m reviewing is a good middle ground! The two inlaid angled feet on the underside/back allow an extra position other brands lack. Nice touch. Volume control is different. My previous keyboard had a top roller and this rolls from the side. It does save some width (1cm appx). Keyboard also works in a KVM but make sure your KVM can handle the power requirement. Lastly, I apologize for the cat hairs shown. No cat hair or cat are included, and the keyboard was nicely boxed too. I’ll try to find the box and upload an extra pic if I find it. Definitely recommended. But if nothing else. It’ll help you memorize which secondary key is what but almost everyone is already used to what 3 through 5 do, hehe.

    I chose the optical purple switches and they sound and feel amazing, combined with the great looking rgb and easy to use software. My one and only gripe would be that the wrist rest would be 10x better if the padding went further down as naturally with correct posture your wrists will be hitting the metal first and not the padding. Other than that this is my favorite razer keyboard yet.

    I really like the feel of this keyboard. Typing and gaming feels great, and the over all build of this keyboard is top-notch. Be warned though – like many mechanical keyboards, typing on this keyboard can be loud. So I wouldn’t recommend this for office use. But for my home use, it’s perfect. I even managed to replace the keycaps with that of another brand. Performance: During long gaming sessions, I found that the keys felt more comfortable than other keyboards I’ve used in the past. I think the reason for this is that I don’t actually have to press as hard for the keys to register. Razer states that the keys on the Huntsman require slightly less force and register quicker than other keyboards. All I can say is that this keyboard feels “broken-in” for lack of a better term. It just feels good, and “fast.” Additionally, the keyboard has 4 media buttons and a moveable dial (one of the 4 buttons is the dial itself – as it can be pushed in, in addition to being rotated) – all of which can be remapped to your liking. By default, they were set to control music playback – in my case, it controls Spotify. I never really planned on using these media controls, but now that I have them – I can never go back. It’s great when I’m playing a game with my own music running, but also being able to pause that music should a cutscene in the game start to play – all by pressing a button. Lack of Macro keys and USB ports: Unfortunately, the Razer Huntsman does not have macro keys like other keyboards in its price range (Corsair’s K95 does have them). Understandably, this would have been nice to have for some users. (Personally I never used macro keys much myself when I had keyboards that did have them.) Also present on other expensive keyboards is a USB passthrough port. Again, the Huntsman lacks this as well. Loud keys: As stated before, most mechanical keyboards are “loud” and can annoy people who maybe sitting relatively close to you. If you are in an office situation, I would recommend using a different keyboard that has “quiet” mechanical keys like Cherry Browns on a Corsair keyboard; or Razer Orange keys on the Razer Blackwidow. Unfortunately, Razer does not offer a more “quiet” version of the Huntsman Elite at this time. Lighting: The keys on the Huntsman are quite bright, even when compared to Razer’s other offerings like the Ornata Chroma. The difference here is that while the letters on the keys of the Huntsman are significantly brighter; the Ornata Chroma’s underlying membrane is also illuminated giving the keys the illusion that they are floating on a “bed of light.” I wish that Razer somehow found a way to also duplicate that bed of light effect on the Huntsman, but I am definitely happy with the extra bright letters. As you can imagine, the lighting on the Huntsman can be customized to pretty much anything you can imagine. Key Replacement: I replaced the keycaps on my Huntsman with Doubleshot PBT Keycaps from HyperX, after seeing a popular Youtube personality replace his. (These Keycaps run about $25, and are meant for HyperX’s own mechanical keboard.) And while not all the HyperX Keycaps were compatible (the larger keycaps for RETURN, SHIFT, SPACEBAR, etc did not fit the Hunstman’s switches), I still managed to replace most of the keyscaps. The over all effect is that the keyboard is now even more illuminated. That’s because the bottom of the HyperX Keycaps (which are made of white plastic) react with the lighting to give a more brilliant glow to the entire keyboard. Since replacing the keycaps on the Huntsman seemed to work; I would assume a fair number of other keycaps types would probably work for the Huntsman as well. But of course please do your own research before purchasing. Software: The Huntsman uses two USB connectors. Once connected, you must download the latest version of Razer Synapse. This is Razer’s all-in-one software for all their PC keyboards, mice, etc. I actually own several Razer products, and after using Synapse for over a year, I’ve gotten used to using it. It’s not hard to use, but it could definitely use some interface improvement. Still, most users can easily get to the most important things such as lighting customization, re-assigning keys, and making macros. Razer does require a login with your information for the software to work. The reasoning I suppose is that you can use the same settings if you use the same Razer products on several PCs. I would assume that most people don’t use this feature – but I actually do. I use Razer products at my home and at my work – so this actually works well for me. Settings that I make at home can easily be assigned at my work and vice-versa. Conclusion: The Huntsman is a pretty pricey keyboard with exceptional build quality. The body is metal, and the keys are stabilized so that there is minimum “wobble.” Add to this the “fast” actuation feel, and you have an excellent high-end keyboard. Gaming, and typing feel really great. If you can forgive the “loud” keys, this is an excellent option if you’re looking for a high-end keyboard for gaming and work.

    I purchased this keyboard through go-keyboard.com Warehouse and only the box was lightly dented on one side. Everything inside was new and included all contents. This was a birthday gift for my husband to replace his Logitech G910 he’s had for half a decade. He absolutely loves this upgrade. The keys strokes are much lighter than the old one and more responsive for his pc gaming. The clickyness is a bit louder than the old one but doesn’t bother us at all, it’s got a nice clicking sound. He hasn’t yet messed around with the lighting but overall this was a gift win.

    Ok por donde puedo empezar con la genialidad de este teclado. En mi opinion creo que esto este es uno de los teclados mas comodos, mejor vistos y con mejor sonido del mercado, las luces a comparacion de otros razer de gama mas baja son super brillantes y apantallantes por el RGB que tiene a los lados y que se expande con el apoya brazos, los switches son optomecanicos (les dejo la tarea de investigarlos), estos necesitan muy poca fuerza para activarlos sin embargo esto puede cambiar entre las dos versiones que hay, el sonido que tiene es muy difrente al de un switch azul MX o un MX verde o Razer Verde. La comodidad que tienen para jugar es buenisima nunca he tenido fatiga desde el dia que lo compre y eso que le he dado bastantes horas de uso entre universidad y horas de gaming. Si lo encuentran en descuento no duden en comprarlo.

    The PC peripherals are the core of a satisfying experience, working, gaming, or expending time with multimedia. Razer Huntsman Elite is a gorgeous keyboard, elegant in pure black, simple, extremely fast, and ergonomic. The wrist rest is a masterpiece, the optomechanical switches are pretty good, not only for FPS games, for typing too. The Chroma software is easy to manage, and the led lights are beautiful, creating a spectacular environment. The engineering is rock solid in aluminum, and the multimedia buttons especially useful and easy to manage. 100/100 recommended. My gaming set: an old RAT MMO 7 Mad Catz mouse, a new XBOX One Elite Series 2 Controller, a Corsair VOID special edition Dolby yellow 7.1 surround headset, a 144 Hz 1440 QHD LG 27GL850-B, and the Razer Huntsman Elite, Probably I will buy a new mouse, looking for the replacement of the RAT MMO 7, but it is pretty tricky, and I think that the Razer Basilisk Ultimate or the ASUS ROG Chakram mouse are the best options. Still, I’m waiting for Mad Catz’s new mouses; I love the quality, design, and ergonomy of Mad Catz.

IF YOU HATE LOUD KEY PRESSES i do not recommend it but its all good when you live alone or you have a room by yourself. The build quality is A-Okay. 100million clicks is almost 200 years life span.     This is a great keyboard, I honestly love typing on it and the clicks switches sound great. That being said the default keys are not that great. I ended up switching them out for pbt ds crystal caps. Some of the keys are ultra hard to read depending on what color you have it set to. It prompted me to replace the caps rather quickly. Outside of that I really like this keyboard and it’s a solid purchase overall if you’re in the market for response time and clicking noise. It is not a quiet keyboard.
